can't complain at all. Yesterday I did a bunch of errands and sang off key to songs as I drove so that was awesome. Got some good deals on the shopping I did too :D. - That's just it, I never would have picked it up if I'd known it was a romance. I hate romances but this series has enough actioin/adventure that the romance isn't stifling. :) So, read anything good lately?

well I read a few books from the Wayward Children series - they're very short. Portal fantasies about misfits, basically, with interesting variety. And I'm still slowly making my way through Ministry for the Future.

- Is the portal one aimed at children or is it just about children? Ministry for the Future sounds interesting. :D

I guess Wayward Children is aimed at all ages, maybe both teens and adults, and also children, it's hard to say. It's written in a style that works for multiple age groups, probably. It's meta-level a series that's about literature for children, and ways that children don't fit into the world they start in, and fundamentally disagrees with the over-arching message that portal fantasy tended traditionally to express.

In the series, it's our world, except that there's a reasonable number of individuals who spot doors to other worlds, ones that run on entirely different rules than our world does. Most of the people who go through doors to other worlds are children or teenagers, most of the ones who come back are pre-teen to young adult, and some of those want to go back.

Each book of the series seems to alternate between telling a story about people in our world who have returned from one of these other worlds, and telling a story of one or two young people who go to one of the other worlds and what happens there.

A lot of the adventure parts of the stories are skipped over; the characters have adventures, but those are often either elided or summarized for the reader. The books focus on the personal struggles of the characters to adjust to either our world or their new one or both.

I actually haven't yet but I'm about to go look and WL stuff now :O I've heard there is some really nice things this time!

It's been okay. Some frustrations but otherwise it's going well. I've been doing a lot of practicing on the violin. Today's practice seemed to really go very well. I think I'm improving significantly.

I was very spoiled <3 I got some gift cards and my husband got me a book series I’ve been wanting to read ^0^ My mom came home early with balloons, cake and flowers 😭 It was all very sweet ^0^ I had a wonderful bday! And I of course got spoiled on here too! I’m very grateful for all of my wonderful friends <3
