I'm starting to realize I need some better winter clothes...Took me a bit to put this look together, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Any recommendations that aren't too expensive? I only have about 8 mil.

- that is happening to a lot of folks. It's in the comments of both Luminaire news posts. I should have qualified my statement above with the fact that I'm using the EDGE browser. Once my son cleared the browser cache my tree popped into existance and he was able to decorate and save it. I don't know what the fixes are for other browsers or even if this will help someone else on an Edge browser. I just know it worked for me. :)

- MM? There are achievements there? Ugh, I feel like I'm never going to get caught up on achievements. Just the Subeautique ones are endless... 😭

- Tree came today and it fits nicely, no hacksaw needed. :) Now, we just need to get it decorated. :D

So I got totally sucked into the game Stardew Valley and am pulling myself away for a few days so I can focus on other things.

Got a new cockatiel (Daenerys/Dany). Bought her from a good pet store where they let you interact with the animals :)

Incredible Pets. It's not a chain store and it's honestly like a zoo. They have some exotic animals that aren't for sale.

It's great going there even if you're not buying anything :)

- I've already got the Melody's little helper forum title. Perhaps I did some and just don't remember. Dang achievements. I wish there were an easier way for me to get through them. The current system isn't easy to search or look through with my screen reader. XD

Grats on your new bird family member! I need to put stardew back on my computer. My brother gifted it to me, I started to play and then I fried my harddrive. This was last year some time. Haven't put it back on yet. Probably not the time of year to do it, too much else to do. lol

I'm glad they instituted the 20 and 25 days instead of 25 and 31. It's a busy month and people have a lot to do. The widget really helps though if you sign in daily anyway.

We just got our christmas tree yesterday and put it up! It's a pretty white tree with blue lights. Gonna try and work on getting the rest of the fall decorations down and christmas ones up today. Gotta get in the Yule spirit!

Is anyone else noticing a lot of duplicates in their wishlists? I'm a bit hesitant to delete them because I wonder if it's items showing wrong for some reason. Doesn't seem like there should be this many duplicates.

- I've noticed duplicates but I just deleted them with out thinking about it. I hope I didn't just delete important things. XD

- I could but I doubt they would do anything about it. Plus, I think it's just that I find it difficult to work with same-page tabs. It gets cumbersome sometimes. :)

It's addictive O.O'

It's basically a farming simulator and a dating simulator mixed into one. Plus there is some combat which is fun.

The gist of the story is that your grandfather gave you an envelope while on his deathbed. He instructed you not to open it until you felt extremely stressed by the world. So when that happens you open the envelope to find out he left you a farm in Stardew Valley. You end up going there and start to build a life for yourself away from the stresses of everyday life.

The days are short so time management is a big part of the game.

Dany is adjusting. We're keeping her in Jorah's cage as she's able to eat and drink from the food bowls in there easily. Jorah is trying to show off and is just being an idiot. But she likes that XD

Freyja (the youngest parakeet) is also acting like a momma bird for Dany.

I'm just happy to stay home and to spend time with family :) I love game nights but it's not as easy as it was when I was a teen 😔 everyone is so busy right now.

We went to book club yesterday and also a touring production of Hadestown which was great. I cried.

we do Christmas in my house, but we also acknowledge the winter solstice. You know our own traditions.

- We celebrate the Winter Solstice but always put up a Christmas tree. It's more our Soltice tree, though. This year it's Halloween themed. Hubby bought me a bunch of new ornaments. They reange from The Nightmare Before Christmas to The Headless Horseman and Cthulu. Plus he bought a hand made garland made of black maple leaves with little pumpkins with lights inside woven through it. And for the top he got the Bumble from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." I can't wait for all the ornaments to show up so we can properly deck our tree. :D

Oh that sounds fun! What's involved? I genuinely have only ever heard of Sinterklaas, I don't know much about it at all!

No kidding, right? Trying to get everyone together these days is nearly impossible. Adulthood suuuucks. I really, truly hope that you can have at least one night where everyone can make it and you can all enjoy each other's company and recharge a little. :)

Sounds like a lovely complement between Christmas and the solstice. It's always a good feeling when the solstice comes, knowing the days are going to start getting longer again. :)

OMG a Halloween-themed solstice celebration sounds amazing! I was literally talking to my girlfriend just the other day about how amazing a Halloween-themed Christmas tree would be. I've never been hugely into Nightmare Before Christmas but I LOVE the aesthetic!

- When my hubby told me about the ornaments, etc. I literally squeed. Squeed! I never squee. Both my hubby and my two sons burst out laughing. I don't care, it was worth it. 😆

Sinterklaas is celebrated in Belgium and the netherlands (where i live). Hé comes to us mid november and stays till sinterklaas eve. In the netherlands on december 5, Belgium december 6. Hé comes with his boat from spain with his white horse and helpers named Pieten. They travel on roofs to deliver gifts and sweets (pepernoten, speculaaskruiden, etc). And of you are naughty you go in thebag from the gifts and you to to spain... Never happens though... Adults and older kid Who know the secret draw names and get gifts, they wrap them up as something (truck,pig,sweet, etc) with a poem and exchange them.

We had sinterklaas this afternoon at work...poor fellow.. boot sank and hé used a rubberfloaty to reach shore. And his pieten where missing.. lol All ended well and our resident got a gift. We on the otherhand.... nothing...
