I think the fan shaped one would be good for my very small and meager rose "bush". I don't think I've been doing a good job of taking care of that poor thing, lol.
There's an area on the side of my house that I could lean a nice sized trellis against and then fasten to the upper deck of my small porch/deck area. Probably gets too much sun for morning glories, though. It's full sun during the summer for at least 7hrs. Then again, they've done really well in the front, and that gets even more sun but not early in the morning when they bloom.

MAN it got chilly! Meant to say that earlier when I went outside for the chickens. Was in pants and a tshirt and it was fine earlier this morning when I went out but by the time I went to feed the chickens, it was CHILLY! Crazy weather. Think I saw that it's supposed to be in the mid 70's on Tuesday and Wednesday, but with storms and/or rain.

Got most of the kitchen cleaned up. Sharpened a couple of kitchen knives while watching some Korean food channels so I can think about what I want to make next now that I'm restocked on supplies. :P Got a bunch of stuff I really need to put away/organize in the living room, just piled up on the chair I never use. Need to do sweeping and vacuuming, too. Oh, and full change on cat boxes. 😔 Let's see how much I don't do.....

Hahaha yea I feel ya there. So much I want to do, instead spending more time just lazing around reading. Need to clean up the kitchen/do dishes for sure. Need to clean/change out my litter boxes too.

I am very tired of hot/cold weather. Go away! Decide one or the other and not both. I hate being cold and then being hot the same day (*or vice versa).

Yeah, it was 70 here Saturday, then it was 17 yesterday morning. So.. that was fun :P

The play is over, and it was honestly fantastic! They all did a great job. Iz liked it so much, she watched again yesterday haha.

Saturday we had a birthday party for my friend.. and JFC I hate his fiancee. Everyone does, actually, which is just like.. ugh. It's a shame. And it's not getting better! SHE'S not getting better! I took pictures while he was blowing out his cake (peanut butter cheesecake with ganache and reeses cups.. and s ahark coming out of it!). and she is literally just making nasty faces at it. And THEN she was like "Why did you crop me out of the pics you posted of Travis on facebook?" Um, it was a KINDNESS, your bitchiness.

And Lily said that during the play, she was just making faces the entire time. And they were in the front row! Like.. WTF. Grow tf up.

ANYWAY. So, Megan aside, we all had fun for Travs birthday, and the play was great. We sold completely out of everything yesterday! Including the candygrams! Which was great :P

Then, the kids didn't want to go to the big cast party, but they invited a few of their friends over (The Beast! LOL), and Els// I'm going with gf, it's complicated :P And another friend. And Lily invited her new bf, who doesn't even go to this school, but that's fine. And Akira ended up comingtoo, since she came with us after church so she could see the play, too LOL. 7 teenagers and Isabelle. MUCH yelling and screaming. They had a good time, though! Poor Alex was getting a headache :P

And then after everyone else left, Connor (lilys new bf. He's a freaking senior! :/) played Magic with Alex and Lily and they all honestly enjoyed themselves soooo.. I guess we'll see :P

Onward to this week! It's kind of? a slowish one? Lily has jazz band after school, then 4H officer training on zoom tonight. Tomorrow work, I have to hit teh grocery store, kids have GSA after school, then there's a 4H business meeting. The last one we'll HAVE to go to, though! And then Wednesday is our club meeting, after Geeks guild.

Annnnd Thursday is youth group, and we're doing a teenage Easter Egg Hunt. They're all very excited about it haha. Teenage.. and Isabelle.

BUT. Easter is Sunday and I have like.. nothing. I have nothing for baskets, except a bathing suit for Iz, and a cover up for El. Like.. I need to get moving on this,

Especially after spending so much time at the school this weekend. 3.5 hours Friday, 4.5! Saturday, almost 6 Sunday. Just. Crazy.

Another girl. A different one than last time. They've had 2 fights in the last two days. I told him I didn't want him bringing girls here anymore after the last girl (the one I had to drive home), they supposedly had a hotel room booked but then OOOPs it wasn't, can they come here. and dummy me said sigh fine I guess so Next time I need to make sure I say HELL NO Stay in the damn truck or find a hotel somewhere. No more girls here.

He is probably mad at me right now too because she asked me for advice and I gave her the damn truth. He is not mature enough for a real relationship. He has done this same crap to every girl he "dates". Be with her and be texting/calling/sexting other girls too. I told her (based on what she told me) that if I was in her position, I would go home. You can't change him, he has to change himself and he has been doing this for years so he isn't changing any time soon.

Storming in & out of house right now to finish packing up the truck. I almost yelled at him when he slammed the door a minute ago, but he didn't do it again.... he's known this girl for over a year. evidently this is the second time they've "gone out". He meets these girls online....which doesn't have to mean its a bad choice, but all his seem to be not so good relationships.

He is on the truck, they live where-ever. He stops and meets up with them if/when he can, or they plan to "come visit and ride with on the truck"....This current girl is apparently from around Chicago/Indiana somewhere near there based on what she's talked about. He evidently visited her up there once before this. I agree, it can be unsafe. It can also be perfectly fine. For him I'm more worried about STDs and unplanned pregnancies. For me, I am not too concerned because what weirdo wants to go meet someone's mom? If they want to come meet mom I feel its got to be a fairly normal person LOL I have also had an online friend come visit me, and let Katie have an online friend come visit her for a weekend twice. Those experiences turned out well. My dad met my stepmom online. So I know there CAN be good relationships. Its just Shane. His relationships (online or in person) suck. Because he sucks. He is bad at relationships and no matter how I talk to him to help him figure out that he is doing stupid things, he keeps doing them.

For example : once recently he was babbling to me about this one girl (not this current girl) and how could she love him if she was cheating on him by texting/talking to other guys at the same time she was supposedly with HIM??? I looked at him and (BURRRRRN!!!!) said : yea, Shane. How is that possible, can she really love you if she is doing that? He shut up, thought for a minute, looked at me. And said "oh. yea. No she can't" I honestly thought he finally got it then. but I guess not.

Anyhoooo, off to grab lunch and drive long ass roads and hope i remember the way :P

I mean, I've let online people come here, too. But IDK. I've really gotten to know those people, you know? He, apparently, isn't too much :P

Mieke, how you keep up with all that is just beyond me, lol. I guess a lot of those times for me, I was still working graves (night shift) and was terminally tired unless it was during my days off, which was still difficult to try and switch to night time sleeping and awake in the day, and then back again before the new week started. You've inspired me to find local (or something at least close to me) farms to do activities at - even if it's solo. I want to do some blackberry picking. :D Nothing beats huckleberries, though.

Kat - omg Shane needs to grow up. He makes enough - no matter what it is - since he's not paying any real bills like car payments, rent, electric, ect, to either rent a car, uber AND get a damn hotel room! First night of "drama" and I would've kicked HER out first and that probably would've resolved the second problem. [b]Your house, your rules!!{/b] I made my youngest start paying "rent" when she was stabilized, even before she was paying insurance for her car.... mostly b/c mine was just so low that I wasn't bothered by hers; Plus she was already making her car payments. That eventually changed but still.... My oldest was already off doing stupid things like getting married and having kids so we won't even go there...

After work I finally finished wiring the dashcam. Had done the front yesterday, but it was chilly and I didn't want to be outside anymore. Plus it's aggravating stuffing in a cord into the trim. Somehow, today actually went a lot smoother and even though it was the longest cord - to the back window - it went really fast. Sun had come out and it was warmish, although I was still wearing a sweater b/c it was chilly and raining this morning up until after I left my dentist appt around 12:45. Got the app set up and now I really have some piece of mind while driving.
Got the cat boxes done, too.

That's about as much as I want to do today. Might do some more light kitchen work just to stay awake but I'm not going to push it. I'm far too tired and irritated for much else.

Woke up at 4 this morning. Wide awake - or as awake as I can get that early in the morning. I knew I couldn't go back to sleep so I got my irritated ass out of bed and made some coffee and debated whether or not I wanted to call off work and try to sleep a couple hours before the dentist appt. I didn't, so one more day saved that I can use for better times.

I was asleep during the drama got told about it in the mornings. I need to take my own advice to you and be stricter about what I allow, as I said earlier. I had already said no more girls. Now I need to enforce that and not give in. He has paid me some "rent" the past several (three?) weeks and this week instead bought a bunch of things at sam's club for the house. I am ok with that in lieu of "rent" this time, but maybe I shouldn't be.

It rained here pretty much all day. Just finished watching Labyrinth with Nathan. Sneaky butthead likes to come watch movies with me when he is grounded from his electronics lol how do I say no to spending time with my baby watching movies I like? Lol again, I should tho.

Tomorrow I plan on raking more of the yard up. Sunny and warm tomorrow. I did go ahead and use the mower on some of the yard, where I had raked and some where I had not because I needed to do it, it was already too tall/thick to rake. Hoping I can get the rest raked up before it has to be mowed (the rest is thinner grass/has not grown yet).

Enh, Taarna, we have a good calendar, and sometimes we just schedule 'NOTHING' days.. and they are NOT to be messed with!

Yesterday was basically one LOL. I lazed around, I took a many hour bath, and when Alex and the kids got home, they started chopping up one of teh trees and hauling everything up the yard and to the house. But we had our first fire of the year last night, so that was nice! Nothing beats a marshmallow hot off the fire. NOTHING.

Today I'm headed to work this morning, then hitting the stores before coming home and probably more of the same tree cutting and hauling. Then dinner and we'll head to our business meeting (booooo! BUT! It's the last one we HAVE to go to!). Need to bake cakes for tomorrows club meeting too, apparently, since our cake decorator already is like "I don't think I can make it..."

Home from taking Nathan to dentist, contractor/estimator said he'd be here a little after 10, he called me at like 815 I was like AAACCCKKK no don't be early!! lol but he was letting me know he might be a little late but he was on the way, there is traffic. I'm like ok. Phew. Because Nathans apt was at 9, and the contractor is supposed to be here at 10 and I made sure so I'd have time to get home. Which I did.

Does the cake decorator normally BAKE the cakes too? I would think the cake decorator would be the one teaching people how to decorate cakes. Why do you need cakes? Can't you decorate plates for practice?? (tho cake is yummier hahahah)

We had a fire pretty much all weekend from Thursday on til yesterday. Its finally out because of the rain yesterday. Still so much wood I can pile up. Plus all the rakings. Its very chilly this morning, and drizzly. It is supposed to be warm and sunny :( Maybe later this afternoon, so we can get some more yard work done.

Also contractor says he believes it is a hump in the floor, NOT the foundation sinking, and he cannot help me. He suggests having a plumber check the water pipes, but how the heck do I do that when they are under the foundation??? Ugh. Arm and a leg I bet, as the homeowner's insurance probably won't pay for investigations. His belief is that the red georgia clay has expanded and caused a hump. He says the area under the window measures the same as the area by the front door he was using as comparison to see if it sank. So it didn't sink, also there are no cracks in the walls, window, roof etc...which is why I was never sure it WAS the foundation to begin with. But at the same time, it IS the floor, which is the foundation - it is just raised, not sunk apparently. Which it does NOT look like that at all to the eyeballs :P

EDIT: 245pm Ummm so I apparently kicked a hornets nest....figuratively. I went to the water company to ask for INFORMATION on what would need to be done in order to have my water meter seperated from the house next door....would I be responsible for a new meter, would he? Who would be considered the rightful owner of the meter, due to the weird circumstances of the building from long ago.... etc Sooooo there is a guy coming out to check out the property, where the meter sits, etc, and whatever he determines - ONE of us WILL HAVE TO get a new meter. The guy I spoke to, and the lady he spoke to on the phone (city vs county) both think that it will lean in my favor as I've had the water service in my name (well, Ryans) for 13yrs, but the original ADDRESS is on the other property...but the original HOUSE is on OUR property...so....eeek. They said that the county will NOT let it stand, and that they will make one of us get a new meter. I asked why they didn't do that 13yrs ago then? And they had no answer.... greeeeaaaat. All I wanted was information, because what if the new renters next door are terrible about paying the water bill? What will happen when I put the mortgage in my name and thus the water bill and other bills for the property as well into my name? I didn't want some screw up - like apparently happened when we bought ours/he bought his property due to the way it was set up.

Oh - back story just for kicks - so when these two houses were first built, it was a company that owned them both, they were built to be rentals, so the water bill was in the company name. Then the company went bankrupt, the property got split between the two business owners, and then both owners went into personal bankruptcy, so the houses were in forclosure/bankruptcy which is how we were able to buy ours, and the neighbor bought his. The driveway is shared, the water meter is shared (between all 3 houses, including the original house that is on our property). We did get right of way on the driveway when we purchased our land as the majority of the driveway was on his land. However, I guess no one knew anything about the water meter ? Or if so, no one said anything about it. We only had a problem with it when the guy bought his property and turned off OUR water to be able to turn on his, and thats when it got started.... we were told back then that one of us should get a new meter installed, but we couldn't afford it and he didn't want to (and we were at odds on WHO should do it - he claimed the address, we claimed the original house plus the service in our name), so we verbally agreed to share the water bill with his renters. And here we are 13 yrs later.

That's crazy, Kat. I do believe at some level that it IS the cities responsibility because they never installed a second meter when the houses were split up and sold separately. I don't know how foreclosures work as far as who takes responsibility (if any) for things that need to be done but at some level, it would've been on the city to fix that. Might be worth looking in to if you're the one who's forced to have a new meter installed.

A nice fire would be sweet. I got some brush to get rid of but everything's soaked right now and there's more storms on the way this afternoon. I think this weekend will be good. It's going to be mild and I need to get started on turning over the garden.

Well I'm not inside city limits. So I don't know that the city will take any responsibility at all. Someone somewhere should have seen to it that one property had to install a new meter long ago, I'll agree to that. When they were first built, when the property got divided, when the properties went to foreclosure....something. oh well. Such is life We will see what happens. My plan if I am the one required to do it, is to ask for time to get a mortgage in my name (as I am already planning to do that sooner rather than later) and include the $ for the new meter in that, unless it's cheap, which based on what they said 13yrs ago it won't be. If I remember right, since they'll have to go under the road to put in a new meter and water lines it will be like $10k. Ugh.

Other than the wood not burning well, I like fires when it's damp. Less chance of sparks setting off another fire elsewhere.

EDIT 150pm These people make no sense. So the water company called me today. Although yesterday it sounded very much like they were going to determine an owner and would MAKE one of us get a new meter, no matter what - today the song goes "we cannot get involved in a dispute between you and your neighbor because we cannot determine exactly who is the owner of the meter." Ok fine thanks. Their advice to me, go to the tax office, get the official plat and try to measure out the property line and prove that it is or is not on my property. Or pay to get it surveyed for the same result. I think I might call my old neighbor, I swear he surveyed it for us, although not officially. I have no idea if he would remember where the property line is. Or if he put in a pin to mark it, tho the water people said they could not find a marker.

I know what you mean about having a safer area for a fire. When the grass gets thicker (not so patchy like it is now), it will have a nice dampening effect. The backyard is low and close to a creek so there's a lot of moisture down there. I have crayfish holes pretty far up in my yard, lol. At least I think that's what they are.

No idea about crayfish or holes. While a creek would be nice at the same time I am sort of glad I don't have that on my property.

Yea. So I texted Mr Eddie (the old neighbor). Asked him if he remembered when he did the property lines for us and could he call me when he wasn't busy. He replied "yes". Argh. So now I'm debating does that yes mean he remembers, that he will call me later or what? Lol The dear man is in his 70s? 80s? So maybe he didn't read all of my text. Or maybe he is busy.

In other news, there have been people next door all day, tearing off the shingles and banging around. Guess they finally got started on reconstructive work.

EDIT 450pm So my old neighbor finally called me. He did remember that he placed the pin, and he is fairly sure, as I thought I remembered, that the line goes over the meter. ugh. But he told me a general area to hunt for the pin he put in the ground, now is how do I find it? Because its not like I own a metal detector and I have no idea if I can rent one? How else would I find it? Dig up the front yard in that area? :P Ugh too. Lolll And then if I find it, I still have to verify if it is on MY land or the line goes across the meter and have PROOF somehow? Guess I should have asked what KIND of proof? Like, can I just show them a property map? I did that in order to get the water turned on 13yrs ago and told them it probably wasn't accurate :P

EDIT 4/6 745am Why can't anything be easy? :P So I looked up around there, didn't see ANY of the pins/flags my neighbor told me about, checked the back, cant see any there either. Decided I would rent a metal detector and find them and mark them myself - the local rental company says online they have one. I go in this morning, noooo we don't rent that. Walmart has one I can get for $36, but takes 2+ days to get here. Lowes has them in stock but are $50-150+ and what the heck am I to do with a metal detector after I use it to find the pins??? No there aren't any other local rental places and the nearest ones cost more to go to get it than to buy it at walmart.
