How's everyone's summer going? I'm ok. I've been very busy at work, we have 2 people out on medical leave, so I've been putting in extra hours to make sure everything is covered! I could use a nap most days LOL.

Been busy here too. Doing what, I don't know, lol. Hope everyone is well! :)

Going great here, while the summers hear are nearly as rough as they were in south Florida, I'll still take Kentucky every day of the week <3 We've gotten a glimpse of fall the past couple of days and I am here for it <3 I am so ready for fall, it's part of the reason we moved - we wanted seasons back... we also wanted less people (which we also got)... and a handful of other reasons too, but it was the best decision we could have made <3 <3 <3

It's been a minute since I did any traveling, but I will be back at it in a couple weeks <3 First I'm off to Nashville with the girls - we're checking out the casinos in the area but plan to stay away from Broadway. It's only an hour and 20 from us so it's not 'real' traveling yet, but next I'm headed to northern Michigan to see my aunt for a week or so, then in late September I'll be headed to Central Florida to visit some friends (weather permitting, as I'm not risking running into a hurricane, lol). I'll be driving, not flying and couldn't be happier that I switched out my F250 for my Jeep Wrangler, because gas would have killed me in the truck!

Speaking of purchases, we finally closed on our second set of buildings - we now own 4 in addition to our house. Currently our businesses are in one, the new buildings 1 is a 2 bedroom rental, one is a nice sized retail space which one of the local groomers has already signed a lease to rent, and the third is currently occupied by an RC race club, but they're only paying $450 for 3500 sq ft, so once we closed we let them know that the rent had to increase or they would need to find a new place.. they chose new place but haven't made any moves at actually moving.. all the fun. The plan is to move our business out of our other building and into the 3500 sq ft space and ultimately add low income rental units above - we should be able to put a 2 bedroom & a huge studio in without issue.. the slow down is the lack of contractors here.. It's quicker for me to fly my guys from Florida, put them up in hotels, pay them for the work and fly them home then it is to even find someone local who will actually come look at the work, let alone actually doing the work! The snails pace is great for everything else, but when it comes to reno, I want it done correctly and in a reasonable time.. a good contractor that actually shows up could make bank here.. I think I'm most anxious to get the work done & get the spaces rented because there's two more sets of buildings on my radar, but my current holdings need to be producing before anything else gets added.. with this last set of buildings, we also picked up the only developable vacant lot space in the whole downtown area - it was a seriously good buy - and our other building is on one of the main streets with the only vacant buildable lot being right next door - I'd say also a good buy, but time will tell on both...

Anywho, that's the what's what around here more or less.. It's been a fairly quiet summer, which I love <3 The grandbabies are growing up - both will be in school this fall (preschool & preK, but still school).. and by fall I mean 10 day or less away, lol, because they go back early here!

And finally, no more driving an hour each way to get my Pink Drink fix from Starbucks, they're opening a new Starbucks, a Dunkin, a Marshalls, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Aldi, and a few other stores a town over from us (so about 25 minutes). Starbucks & Dunkin will open in the next couple weeks, the rest is set to open spring of 2025 <3

We did a driving tour around NZ south island, and spent a few days on Stewart Island. Wet and raining most of the time but still nice.
