I don't know if Netflix has the Evil Dead movies but it does have the show. The Evil Dead Remake I bought on Amazon Prime as it wasn't on Netflix at the time.
Learned young as my mother's medical history was very tough to take in. But you are absolutely correct about advocating for yourself and if you can't you need someone to advocate for you that knows your history and your wishes. There are agencies that help with these issues, here they are working with different hospitals and become a go-between if needed in that capacity. But till that time they assist with services that might be needed - someone to help with the housework, or laundry pick up with next day delivery and meals on wheels. Plus free legal services for seniors and assistance with legal forms when they are no longer competent.
see we learn a new thing each day :) Good to learn about health stuff and see what we/you can do not to get it.
I am not sure if i will watch a new bond movie, first i need to see who will be the new bond and well if the movie will be good. If not going back to the old movies. I have today off (saturday) as i worked for a co-worker yesterday and she is working for me today. Back to work tomorrow so relaxi g today. You? andy plans?
haven't checked yet.. work got in the way lol
- We have that here, too. The area's hospital has created a network of doctors, therapists, nurses, and aides that will help like that if needed. I just wish that all this help was available to those with lower incomes as they seem to be the ones who need it most. :d
- Idris Elba as Bond would be about the only thing that would get me to watch a new Bond film. I wanted him to be the new Doctor so badly. lmao! I'm being a couch potato today, too. I was woken up at the crack of dawn by the sound of a lot of water splattering on the washer/dryer. My son told me that the water was running down the utility area wall and cascading out of the light fixture in the ceiling. So, he put a bucket under the waterfall and cut the power to the area. Hubby went upstairs to find out what our upstairs neighbor was doing. Laundry, which she immediately shut off. A quick call to the landlord got a maintainence man here quickly. Apparently the valve in the upstairs washer's water line busted and had to be replaced. Right now we have fans drying everything out. What a fun way to wake up, not! XD lol :D
These programs that I am speaking of are for those that are poor or seniors on a fixed income meaning low like myself. It does go by income here and so far my needs are small in comparison to many and the services are free but if I needed more there would be a small monthly payment. Agreed. When I was growing up the family medical tree was hush hush as they didn't realize then about hereditary conditions.
oh he would be great! Oh no all the water, hope it's fixed now. No couch potato for me today, just got home from work. Ok going to be a couch potato now.
yes it's said the old generation did not tell us all of it and nowadays we need to know.
Extra bad for those who are adopted with birth parents not willing to disclose their identities. When I was a kid the only way I could learn anything of import was to eavesdrop and I got very good at it. When I was little but school age I listened in on a conversation between my pediatrician and my father. With my mother in the hospital the last thing my dad wanted to hear was my doctor telling him that there was something going on besides the heart murmur (that went away with age). He had exceptional hearing and great focus. Always remembered that and it was the start of trying to stay healthy as I knew then in my bones that my heart was going to be an issue when I was an adult. But I didn't find out I had it till I was a senior and had broken a couple of ribs. They have a visiting nurse that comes to your home for a month and checks out your vitals, well on the last day of visitation the nurse couldn't hear the second part of the heart beat so she rushed me to the hospital and that was when the thoracic aneurysm was discovered. It looked like a big angry sun on the scan, all I could think of was I was right after all about my heart.
- Yes, he would! :D The pipes upstairs are fixed and everything is drying out. We're not touching the light fixture until maintenance has a chance to check it out and make sure none of the wiring was compromised. They'll do that tomorrow. Being a couch potato after work is a good thing. :D
- Interesting that you should say that. I had no idea what my medical history was up until this past summer. I'm adopted and none of my records came with me. I found my birth father this summer and quite a few mysteries health-wise have been solved. :D
i did i sure would like to know who it is, but i guess i will never find all.
Happy monday everyone! Have a great new week. Hoping Survival starts today.
yes it is. I am one (thankfull)of the lucky ones, my parents tell me everything about health stuff in my family and themselfs. So if there is anything i need to know or act on i can.
i hope everything is fixed and all is safe :)
i hope so to but with my luck i am betting it starts tomorrow evening and i have a eveningshift tomorrow.
OMG, your response gave me chills and I have the heat on and my winter robe. Did your father have any medical info on your mother to aid you? It's wonderful that your birth father gave you that info, must be a wonderful help for your doctor.
You are younger than I am and your parents generation was more forth coming thankfully. Growing up in the fifties everything that was personal got swept under the rug. Due to my mother being in the hospital when it came time for the "Facts of Life" talk it was with my father. He told me about menstruation and I not only didn't believe him I told him flat out that it wasn't going to happen to me. Then told me me a married couple would have sex and that was how a baby was made. Just left me puzzled about sex. Needless to say not that much longer just a few months I got my first period and panicked when I saw the blood. Made my self calm down to think about the situation and then realized what was happening. Got cleaned up and dressed and walked into the kitchen arms folded across my chest glaring and stated angrily "you were right" and stomped out of the room. Twelve was a transitional year.
WOW! That is really cool!
same, wish I had another way to run the site though.
Goodness me! I am so sorry! I am praying for you and your family.
either way, oatmeal is real good for you! Also thank you for asking , I was curious as well.
Thank you for sharing your story.
Read that again.
Go Bills!
- you're in luck! Survival is supposed to start tomorrow. :D How are you doing? :)
- We've got a fan and a dehumidifier drying everything out. The maintenance guy said he would be back on Friday to check out the ceiling light and make sure the water didn't damage it. Now, I just have to make sure no mold grows on the areas that were wet. Oh, poor you! Survival is supposed to start tomorrow afternoon my time so that's right in the middle of your evening shift. XD
- he,interestingly, didn't have very much info on my birth mom at all. I was just happy to have his side of the medical history, finally. It has made a difference in how my doctors treat my illnesses. :D
- You're welcome. :) If you're still curious, please ask. I'm very open about what happened and how I've coped. :D
Thank you, in order to understand some things you have to ask leading and questions, at least I do. Really appreciate your comment. That he opened up to you is wonderful, having medical information even if only from 1 parent has to be a huge help for a doctor. We get half our DNA from each parent and it helps to know the details when we can. I apologize if this went in a direction not planned on.
oh boy that’s harsh I am born 30 years later and it was better than that but still shocked about how things were told. Nowadays people are way more open, sometimes a bit to open…
oh Friday can be far away, I do hope no mold, etc will come. Just air it out lol. I do hope survival starts soon.. been checking the item directory and I am seeing some items that could be for survival.. Hope it starts with in 2 hours then I am still home before I have to leave for work (evening shift till 11:15pm)
well it's half way tuesday here almost 2pm and still nothing.. There are items in the item directory as said... hope it starts soon..
Doing ok here, bit gloomy and windy weather here.. I need sunshine and spring.
Awareness was different then. Plus I was termed a late in life baby because my mother was in her 30ties when she had me. And my father was as old school as they come. Walking down the street I couldn't even look at people just had to face front and watch where I was putting my feet. Couldn't ask what then was considered personal questions, today I'm still surprised at questions people ask because of that. I hope it's not me that you consider harsh.
Add to it that my father was old school and very strict. Considering that I was the only child due to my mother's health in his mind I was to be protected at all costs. Which explains why when I said to him at age 16 "Im going to sign up of Driver Ed!". He said, "You do and I'll break both your arms." My thought was good to know how to drive but his thought was we don't have a car - she'll just get hurt.
