I was going to ask if it was based on a character ;)

Utterly random question - why does cross stitch have to be started in the middle of the design, rather than starting on the edge or a corner?

yep :P oh that's easy. The middle is easy to find with most patterns and transferring that to your canvas. If you start in the middle, it ensures that you have enough room for both the top and the bottom. If you start at the edge of a counted cross stich you could potentially end up not having enough room. To circumvent that, I've often just stitched one stitch down each row to get to the bottom and then across to get to the edge I'd rather be at ;) lmao or I go with stamped patterns so I can start at the left corner ;)

ah that makes sense on making sure you've got enough room :) I was finding it quite hard to work out where I was on the pattern (especially if I need to leave it for a while & come back to it months later), and thought that working on a corner might make it easier! I might try that idea of doing a line down to the bottom from the middle bit I'd started, them over to the corner, so I can start working in from the edge :D

[edit] And Sorn looks perfectly stealthy :D :D

Just got home from my weekend trip. Had a great time and talked a lot to this girl I had never met before that was really nice. We had time for a boatrip too and learned a lot about my condition as well. Hope you are both well. :hugs:

I've been working on a little cross stitch project while I'm waiting for the fabric to arrive for my next sewing project (I had hoped they might dispatch it today, but it looks like it still isn't quite in stock at their warehouse yet) ;) I'm also meant to be finishing making a pair of shorts for me, a shirt for Dad, and starting a shirt for K which was meant to be the second part of his birthday present (late March 😊).... but I think K's shirt will end up being his Christmas present laughs :P

yeah and you can’t make heads or tails on what it is or which direction is even upright. Good luck. Thanks. So does Alfred. Lol Sorn is glad he doesn’t need to black out his face ;)

I’m glad you had a nice time.

I've already turned the cross stitch around four times, and it still seems to be up the wrong way 😊 :P

hehe Alfred's used to that, from when he's practising his hunting skills before a full moon ;)

you could put a tiny strand of thread on one corner of your project so you can tell that the blue thread is on the left bottom corner than you are in the correct direction. Of course that’s contingent on remembering which corner is right lol

Smart xd

now that's a thought - and I could put a coloured dot on the corner of the plan as well, so I know which corner the marker thread is on ;)

I couldn't resist using the mask with the toothy grin though - he wanted to look more confident :P

Thanks, feet healing well? :) And yeah, if you got a simple solution to remove cathair from dimond paintings, let me know please. It is super noticable around the black gems.. and using a tweezer takes forever. I have kept it covered when I have not worked on it obviously, but still so much cat hair. I can only work on it in my livingroom after all.

Sounds like you have kept busy. I noticed tons of cathair had gotten stuck in my diamond painting with the glue, even under gems. So I spent a lot of time trying to remove them with tweezers. Was a fun time. :P '

tweezers are honestly the best option. You could try some packing tape and see if any hair sticks to that. Just be careful of the diamonds

I did try a lint roller, but it didn't help that much. lol Packing tape might be worth a try, thanks! I can always put the diamonds pack on there if needed if things goes wrong.

I've gradually started working towards the bottom of the pattern, although there's a heck of a lot of colour changes just in one line, so that could take a while!

That sounds frustrating with the cat hair! But hopefully the tweezers worked, even if if does take forever ;)

Update: So I went to my doctor appointment today and was told that my doctor left that morning for Africa for a family emergency. So they did hydrotherapy and put the cast back on. I have another apt on the 22nd but they've already said it's likely they'll do the same thing, replace the padding and put the cast back on. So it's nearly a guarantee that I'll have the cast for another month since he doesn't return until after the 4th. I'm hurting a good bit since moving it about does bother it.

Pinkpanther I'm not overly surprised the lint roller didn't work. Good luck on the tape.

Paddy sounds like it was a pain in the butt lol.

Tweezers does work, it is just a very tedious job. :P

Another month with a cast on sounds frustrating. I am sorry. :hugs: Make sure to give it enough rest and be careful in the meantime.

lol I always have a lintroller, thanks to Pusur and a fur, so I figured it was worth a try.
