Yeah my 2nd was wayyyyyyy easier than my first and my daughter was NOT colicky or anything like my son and she adjusted to a schedule like within a few months...it was GREAT! My son I was walking around zombie like for like a year...it sucked lol :) And yeah 12 hours is awesome on the recovery! Though I don't appreciate having to have a recovery "poo" to make sure I can "go" and showing the nurse. eye roll and Lol you can hunt me down all you want :P I might take a break for awhile haha :) then it would be silly to gift me! :P

its amazing how hard it is for places to be consistent...we have a few favorite places because the food is always consistently good :P I don't like playing russian roulette with my food...will I get shot with bad food tonight or will I dodge a bullet? And I saw your other comment about your father in law...I'm so sorry...I had some MAJOR issues with my mom around Xmas because she wants us to do things the way SHE wants for our daughter and even had the balls to say she's part of the family and has a say...umm no no you don't...and she did some "other" stuff that was backstabbing and we cut her and my stepdad out of our lives because of it. Like wanting something for your grandchild is one thing but thinking your opinion TRUMPS the parents opinion? I do NOT think so.

- we all fight the good fight against sleep but it wins in the end. lol :P what really made my day/week/month/year was when our youngest first decided to learn guitar. he picked the jimi hendrix song "all along the watchtower" to learn first. it's my favorite song. i was touched but knew he'd slaughter it as it's not an easy song by any stretch of the imagination. i've been hearing it on and off for 4 years now and he still slaughters it with enthusiasm but he is getting better. lol :D

- you know, you're probably right. it was normal for him because he never new any different. i learned today there is hope for our non-existent writing careers. i found a book on audibles that the author had published by random house when he was 68. it was his first novel ever. he never started writing until he was in his 60s. there is hope! :D uh, how do you persuade the artists to draw the stuff for you and not sell it themselves?o.o

what an asshole...wow! Um kids have disabilities all the time. Mine didn't speak or whatever for a LONG time and when she did it wasn't clear...and guess what? she's autistic...and her testing she was in the 92% percentile (aka pretty effing smart) just struggles a bit. Doesn't make anything wrong with her and there is nothing wrong with your son at all. Can your hubby stand up to him and just be like this is not okay? Can you invite his grandma to come visit you guys instead of going over there? or invite her out to dinner just her? when he's not around? If it ultimately comes down to it then you might have to do the double edged sword and not go over there at all (because dude NOT okay what he's saying or placing blame...like dude asshole lol) even if it means grandma can't see...its not her fault...but if she loves you and you explain it and why....then later if she's not seeing hale she can chew his head off for being a jerk ya know? And maybe she can come visit you guys <3 if you are still working for him....find other jobs that aren't dependent on him so you have more freedom. We had help from my mom and we "moved" so that we could be free to make our own decisions/say what we want (which is what resulted in the blow up/other bad stuff) because we were free to say what we wanted and did lol hugs

I read some good books definitely. Or I should say re-read, since I haven't felt up to reading anything entirely new. Due to stress, re-reading older favorites and books I'd mostly forgotten but thought I remembered liking has been on the reading menu for me recently

The highlight of the last week of reading was a book I'd read thirty or more years ago and barely remembered - Empire Star by Samuel Delany. It has a lot of resonance since it managed to gain a whole new level of meaning in the interim since it was created in 1966. Because it's about art and revolt and how freeing slaves always takes many cycles of try and try again, each time getting a little bit further; and about a princess and a farm boy who, their fates already intertwined, take on the Empire together in both their youth and their old age. Sound familiar? For every story, there's an artist out there who has done it before, but that doesn't mean you don't have to do it again. Loved this reread. So meaningful and rewarding.

- sounds like everything from star wars to the princess bride and the wheel of time series. there's nothing like sinking into a well-read book to soothe the stress away. :D
