Speed helps with crits, if your opponent has 1,000 speed and yours is 999. You can be crit (double damage), and won’t crit them. There’s some work around to your crit abilities using crystals, separate topic though.

Likewise if you have 1,001 you have the opportunity to crit them. Speed’s relevancy is entirely dependent on your preference. Some opponents like meatslab and the mage have annoying crits in the later game. But it’s not impossible to deal with.

For your second question leeches are typically used around the stat capping stage to finish a pets build. If you have 6500 strength and 5500 defense, but and 7000 strength and 5000 defense, leeching the 500 defense frees up the stats to allocate to for that.

Well I'm a dummy and assumed the tier below gods was all 100 blocks. So now ice, earth, and light haha. I do have the core, OHS, and some T11 ice blockers. I guess I have almost all the best blockers sand god weapons. Take my battle license away! I'm embarrassed. Probably had you thinking I had a hidden cache of godlies that were unaccounted for bahha.

Depends on your pet's build and your personal play style whether or not speed is important. If you have a lot of health, or a lot of defense or both, you can get away with low speed. Crit hits will still be annoying, but you can buffer blows with health or defense. If you want to do massive damage to opponents or just avoid being crit altogether, then it's worth having a higher speed.

it's a contextual weapon, for sure, but that also means in the right context it could be totally clutch. i was skeptical about the revamped lightning at first, but it's been a big help for my t10s with a few of the seasonal challengers this year.

Crit rate for players has a 10% floor. Even 0 speed should still have baseline 10% crit chance.

Speed acts (or at least used to) as an on/off switch for an opponent’s ability to crit you.

Hey, cronus is a god loot drop :p doesn't have to be the best weapon ever, but I would think a high T12/T13 challenger would drop a T12/T13 weapon. Why is it T10 when you at least need a T12 already to beat her?

I can't find a context where I would prefer it over something else is the problem. The only things I could think of:

1. battle events where the boss is low in health
2. grind through BQs with a T10/T11 pet
3. opponents where healing is disabled

But here are the problems I see with the above situations:

1. last war, the hydragellos never depleted health so all timezones can get hits in. Unless they change how events and bosses work again, it's hard hit will never activate. It also requires actually having another war

2. a T10/T11 pet can only get so far without having to switch to an actual strategy to beat BQs and get the most exp

3. there are only 2-3 opponents where healing is disabled. I guess it's a good option for farming effigy for singed scales

other than the first year of CS challengers, whenever a challenger drops a weapon on win 5 it's pretty much always a tier or two below the challenger. i'm not saying i agree with the BAs on that one, but they've been pretty consistent about it (and all of those other ones were moved to achievement drops anyway). 🤷‍♀️

- I agree that it's nice to finally have a loot drop that is a weapon, but I do wish it was a little less underwhelming. It's coding is really weird and doesn't really have any better functionality than DGR which is the same tier.

The BAs completely overhauled the drop system and locked up loot behind achievements (which I also don't agree with but moving on) but not all the weapons were a tier or two below. Ballista, BHB, PBB and the scaling weapons are all on tier. The only one I can think of from the old cs challengers that isn't is the uss. Maybe the original pstaff too, but I can't remember those stats

Critical Hits Critical Hits double your damage during one turn. Having higher speed than your opponent makes crits more likely. You can always crit your opponent; their crit rate is capped at 90% since June 18th 2014 which leaves you with a meager (but existing) chance of 10%. This means that even pets built unevenly with neglected speed can now get a chance to crit.

I believe it's also sliding. So even if you are lower speed than the challenger, the closer you are to their speed the better your chances.

Overlooked in this is that speed increases the activation rate of blessings and curses on some weapons. My high speed pets have almost constant blessing and curses from my weapons.

My impression was that speed was just an on off switch and that it was something like the ratio of damage to damage prevented that set the % on a given turn. And if an opponent had 10k speed that if you had 9999 speed or 5k speed it wouldn’t actually change the odds of a crit hit.

It was an on and off switch before 2014. The activation of blessings/curses was custom coded into individual weapons, I think it still is. The sliding part was added, I think 2014 as well. It was described by admins in BC chat. I don't have a link to it.

They realistically couldn’t make the halberd a better weapon than they did.

As a 5th win drop there would be too many of them going out to be a god level weapon.

Under the right circumstances it does the most damage in the game, which is fantastic for most ‘impossible’ battles. I think they did a great job balancing it.

I think there is something else in the code in terms of frequency of being crit and actually being able to crit. My 0 speed pet that has 3k def has never been crit until now when his opponents have 4k + strength. Similar to what you see with slaglord and little pets fighting him.

I don't see how making one semi-god weapon go out as a fifth win drop is game breaking. Light isn't a commonly needed block and she is a really tough challenger. I think Tball actually does the most damage for a T10 weapon

There’s hundreds of pets that can beat that challenger. A major part of god weapons is exclusivity. DGR serves the cheap role light blocker, anything that is better than that needs to be more exclusive (according to the way subeta has operated anyway).

I’ve mentioned this before, but I think RNG drops are a good way to implement having god level weapons drop, separate topic though.

I meant most damage like average damage though. It outpaces SRB which used to have the most average damage but instead of a negative heal we get a 2% heal and really good block.

The hundreds of pets comes from people that have an army of pets or people that have been around a long time, which is a product of the site's age. There's really not much that can be done about that at this point. The price point is user-imposed. "God" weapons by the original term is for the weapons of subeta's "gods" (ie: blackmoon staff, oracle's staff, shinwas sacred bow, etc). It then expanded to any weapon that does x damage, 100 block and 10% heal since the OGs were built that way. The exclusivity is what tends to drive people away from battling, but that's a different topic.

The weapon that does the most damage and most average damage is the ballista, but it's T12

The way to work around the users’ armies while still maintaining exclusivity is to implement an RNG based drop. That makes getting a god level weapon on a drop possible for everyone, but chances are not increased for more pets. Of course to do it fairly there would need to be a scaling rework.

And I’m sorry but Ballista is not even close to the most average damage. Here’s the math: Ballista 19.5 avg base damage + 25.8 (129 avg “big hit” @ 20%) = 45.3 + (4 x 8.16 (EOR + curse activation) = 77.94 average damage
