Personally, I'd always admired the art but I'd heard some negative things about the site so I refrained. Then my main neopets account got frozen, so I finally took the plunge and made a subeta account while I waited for it to get unfrozen. Which it did, thankfully with all my pets and items intact, but the site had lost some of its charm and over the years my interest waned more and more... but my love for subeta never really did. The site has only gotten better since then!

Thank you for doing this!:) My story to come to Subeta is quite similar and I think most of the people around here are the same with you. I used to play neopets too but then some of my friends from there started to introduce Subeta to me, and because of some weird reasons, my neopets account got frozen and it never cam back to me anymore. So I decided to give Subeta a try and I found that in most of the way, Subeta is better than neopets because even if you don't pay real money for it, you still have a chance to get the cash shop stuff. Also, though Subeta is a smaller community, it offers so much more interaction between players and staffs usually even show up on news and forums to state the status of the site and other stuffs. These are what neopets lack and so I decided to stay here rather than in neopets. Though there are still some issue that Subeta has to deal with, it is overall a better community so that it keeps people around, I think.

As for how I joined Subeta I think it was from seeing a Ad on Misticpets or Neopets and checked on what Subeta had to offer and then it clicked for me and this was in year of 2012. I think what later got me hooked to stay was making HA's and the Cw's that came into existence before it was the events/pets. My first set of Username back then was Kora then Raspberry then Guava that or it was Guava then Raspberry and lastly my Current Username is MilkyWay :)

I joined Subeta after being given the boot from another site.... for dumb reasons. I was bored and nowhere else to go... My friend told me she found a place just like the other only.... better... So I joined. My first UN was AmeiIshtal because I didn't think to check if any UNs were free... But yes I played on Subeta and fell in love with the site and... well... that was 14 years ago... :P

I joined Subeta this past January after neopets completely failed to deal with the death of flash. I'd been on neopets since 2001 or 2002, off and on, and it was really hard for me to let go so I stuck around for several months after flash ended to see if they'd fix stuff but everything got worse and worse. Someone was asking about other pet sites on a neopets reddit group and another person mentioned Subeta and a few other sites. I checked them all out and when I discovered Subeta had HAs I could play dress up with, I was hooked. I don't think I've gone a day without logging in this whole year LOL.

Time certainly flies here. Twelve years ago I was, and I think still am, on Neopets and a couple of other pet sites. One of them I used to roleplay on but then I noticed all the super rare items were super easy to get a hold of and buy dirt cheap. I knew something was up but it didn't click that users were dropping off the site like flies, or maybe they just weren't getting the user numbers they had expected. Then shortly after that they announced they were closing their site down. My oldest daughter wanted to continue to roleplay online with me and possibly others but she wasn't allowed by her father to just get on a site without me scouting it out first. She found Subeta and wanted to try it out. She told me it was a lot like the other site that closed down. So, I checked this place out and we both signed up. She was 13 at the time. I fell in love with the wardrobe option and soon found myself swept away with the RP crowd on here. I even made a forum group but shut it down when life got hectic and I had to take an unwanted hiatus from here. Now I don't RP anymore but I still have fun on the site. I haven't visited Neopets in years, not really since they made the new neohomes and made it so you couldn't get a trophy for your old neohome anymore. I really worked hard on that thing and got it ready just in time for them to stop giving out those awards. All the other sites just didn't keep my interest at all either. Now I'm back here in full swing. :)

i joined Subeta after my friend recommended the site to me. i like the pet art so i decided to try it out. making HAs is fun. i like the events and sp is easier to make than the currency of other sites i've been on, so i stayed for a long time and hopefully will continue to be on Subeta in the future.

I am still a little new to Subeta. I joined on November 3rd of this year! I had played Neopets for a long time, but there was a lot missing from that experience. I was looking for something else when my IRL friend introduced me to Subeta. I promptly deleted my Neopets account and became rather obsessed with Subeta and the community here. I am a little embarrassed to admit how much time I spend on Subeta, but there is just so much that I love about it. I wish I had found it sooner.

Happy 10 years ! I joined during college, I wanted something to take my mind off the stress and tried to log back into my Neopets that I haven't used in years, and found it was gone! I joined here on my birthday and never looked back!!

My favorite pet is Volfy, he was my first and dearest to my heart <3 lol Hope you're having a great holiday!

happy subetaversary c: thanks for doing this! i joined due to my friend ! she came here after being fed up with neopets and before doing so, we exchanged numbers and we started texting. a few months later, i distinctly remember being in my english class in middle school (8th grade) near the soon end of the year (it was april-ish and we'd graduate in early june). we were in the library computer lab that day - a rare treat - and all we had to do was a short "learn how to (re)search" assignment. after that, the teacher let us talk because we only had a month(ish) left.. so i broke out my flip phone and hid it behind a book and started texting. she had something similar by chance! there was a big east coast power outage later that day and we were talking about how annoying neo could be -- our texts were super staggered in time because of the influx of people texting -- she told me about a site where you could talk about anything & you could earn millions easily! and there were wearables.. i was sold. the power was out for like 6 hours... in the meantime i forgot the name of the site & had deleted her text. at the end of the weekend she asked why i hadn't joined subeta yet and i did SO fast. the pets.. the wearables... the art was (and still is) frickin amazing and despite not being very social here, i love being able to express myself however i want; i've stayed ever since! she eventually stopped playing but haha... i remember sending her links of (something like... Keith Answers??? with Keith talking about various Subetathings -- i guess on youtube??) videos to get her to play again (i was not successful ;( ). well, nothing'll get me to leave!

So I was an avid Neopets player back in the day. Back then people got frozen for all sorts of crazy things and eventually it happened to me. Subeta was pretty and I had joined it. Not long after a good friend of mine who I played neopets with all the time also lost their account over something silly and they joined up here with me ^^ That person is in this thread somewhere.

So my account is 13 years old but I’ve been playing on and off for that time coming in spurts and leaving for years at a time lol. I was apart of the neopets pipeline as well, it’s been so long i can’t specifically remember if there was something that made me switch to only keeping a subeta account but i can say I’m glad that i did! It’s always fun to come back on here and see what the updates are and find new items to lust after. And of course i always try and make sure to login around the holidays bc those are the best times to play imo

Smiled a little while reading your how you came to subeta story, because we have one similarity! xD

Since my teenage years i got invited to play neopets from a friend from my friend xD She's half american and neopets was pretty popular there this time. Have to say we live in germany and nearly nobody knew this game here xD

So i started to play for yeeears. Later neopets had pretty much problems with hackers and many accounts got frozen, many friends were gone or leaving because they lost everything. Also i wasn't really happy about the fact you couldn't really write openly, it was and still is like "neopets is the only theme you are allowed to talk about lol" xD

To come to an end, many people were angry and raging on the neopets boards, and someone posted a link and referred to subeta! Of course the board got closed soon, but i was able to read it before lol (lucky me!)

Then i registered here and discovered subeta step by step. At first i was like: "oh well, everything is english...the pets look totaly different, here are HA's?, OMG CW's are so pretty. And one thing i still have to laugh about: Why are there viewed items (picture and name) and if you click on them the item will look totaly different lol This got me sooo confused at the beginning xD

But now i see it as a lovely signature here, an individual personalized and lovely item! And that i can create characters and profiles for my pets and also give them an own personalized inventory!!! Think that's pretty amazing!! And so much more =)

The more i discovered on site, the more i liked it here, also the community here is just so lovely and kind! I love the events, making characters and profiles for my pets, and so much more!

What a fun idea!

My journey to Subeta was pretty boring and uneventful really. I had a couple of friends I'd originally met on neo keeptelling me how much better than neo it was. Then neo charged me premium after i'd already cancelled it. So neo was on the blacklist and I switched to Subeta!

Ahhh happy 10th anniversary on Subeta :D

I started on Subeta because of my sister! She's much older than me so we usually didn't have that much to do together; so when we were younger, there was a lot of mismatch in terms of interests with a smidge of generational gap tossed in. A lot of the time she'd either be too busy with school/work to take much of an interest in what I was doing or I was too much of a heckling little nuisance of a younger sibling to deal with. While we initially started on Neopets--and still log in there from time to time (don't get either of us started on the state of that game now)--we also explored a lot of similar sites and ended up here! I have a lot of fond memories with Subeta because it gave us something to connect on, especially after she went out of state for college and ended up snagging a comfortable job pretty far from home.

While my sister is more of a battler/money hoarder type of player on these kinds of games, I've always been more of the storyteller/hoarder of shinies; Subeta gave us both something to do and chit chat about. While I tend to be a little bit inconsistent with being active on Subeta--thanks to college and some lofty postgrad ambitions--I always check in time to time during my favorite Subeta holidays to relive a lot of nostalgia and make new memories :)

I always laugh when I login because my username "Tribe" is inspired by the Tribe of Rushing Water in Warriors, which is one HECK of a throwback to being younger and absolutely obsessed with the book series. Plus, I’m very fond of Kona (even though I lost her name for a period of time thanks to inactivity) who I adopted way way back because of the book Gooseberry Park, which was also a childhood fave haha. I also still remember the first time I got a free GA medal and got to make more pets for the first time, which spawned Gylfie/Grank/Fengo (and others that have since been adopted out) in honor of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole! Good times, good times—my account is like a fun lil time capsule in a lot of ways!

My story of how I came to subeta: So I was a member of other pet sites, and quite enjoying what they had to offer. Honestly, I was pretty obsessed with pet sites in general. However, I was getting a little frustrated at the lack of ability to advance very far in terms of site currency, items, etc, so I was on the lookout for new pet site options I could play in addition to the ones I already used. One day, I saw an ad on one of my other pet sites for subeta (not entirely sure why another site would allow an ad for a different, similar site, but I'm not complaining!) It sounded pretty interesting, so I decided to check it out. I fell in love, and have been on here ever since!

Congrats on the anniversary. That’s an amazing mile stone.

My story of how I came to Subeta is simple actually. In 2009 I was unhappy with Neopets especially since they had introduced the dress up mechanic for pets. So I went scouring the Internet for greener pastures and found Subeta, the one site I have always come back to since.

Unfortunately my joining story isn't very interesting. :P I was on Neopets back in the day and looking for other entertaining sites, came across Subeta. When I first joined I had absolutely no clue what I was doing and took a break for a while, but wound up returning to give it another try. Luckily when I tried it again later, I had a better idea of where to go on the site and easily found out all the things there were to do here. :)

Sadly my story is very boring. I’ve been playing for 15 years (will be 16 at the end of January 2022) and I don’t really remember how I found this site. I know that I found it on Google. I used to play Neopets back in the day through grades 6-8
