I think I have all the themes including the 3 hidden ones. Sure wish they'd do some more.

In the old apartment I always kept the tree up and decorated it for every holiday. This year I just kept all the Christmas stuff on it :D It does make me happy! <3
Same! I would love a new theme,
Totally! I wish we had one for all of the Subeta Holidays.

That's great news about your sister! :) Thank you! Found out today that hubby and I are having a boy, so we have to start over with deciding on a name. I'm feeling much better now that allergies have lessened but still dealing with heartburn randomly. Why does water have to cause heartburn? I'm resting as much as I let myself during the day, which is quite a bit now because I may have developed a stress fracture in my foot from overdoing cleaning last week. I'm disappointed that my in-laws have been like this, but I'm hoping that they won't get worse after the baby is born. Really hoping we've gotten all the leaks taken care of in the basement so we can have one less stressor. During the ultrasound today, baby was being stubborn and did not want pictures taken of his face, went as far as to cover it with both hands. He was squirmy at the start and then refused to move so they could get all the images they needed. He likes to kick at night when I'm trying to fall asleep
Thank you!
I took a nap on the way to the hospital this morning since my ultrasound was scheduled super early, but I may need another nap later. I still need to get better about taking naps when I need them. I'm glad I'm feeling better too, back to just a stuffy nose when I wake up and then clear all day.
I avoid mold as much as I possibly can since I cough around it, we just didn't expect to find so much in that room. After we've removed all the carpet, we'll have an easier time finding where we need to use Killz or Lime-away.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
If I ever get sprayed by a skunk, I'll probably just trash the clothes I'm wearing. I'm sure I could get the smell out, but I don't want to have that smell lingering in the washing machine.
Yeah, it is! I already had a sensitive nose before getting pregnant, but it's 10x worse now for certain smells. Like to me, Chris's shirts all have this funky smell to them, but they're clean. Heck, they've even been dried on the line outside and they still have the funky smell. I never noticed the smell before I got pregnant, so I have no idea what it is. Smelling his sweat makes me feel sick too, as well as cooking ground sausage. I'm glad the Tums are helping too because the Pepcid never helped. I also found out that if I sleep on my left side I don't get heartburn at night, but as soon as I roll over to my right side, I have heartburn.
We're having a boy and I might be almost two weeks further along than initially thought. I am slightly disappointed and I think Chris was too. We wanted a girl because Chris's paternal side of the family has pretty much only had boys, so it would have been nice to have a girl. We had already agreed on a girl's name using my grandmother's name and my mom's name. Plus, I have all the clothes I wore as a baby, so that would have really cut down on stuff to buy.
There are some local taco places about 15 minutes away but I've never tried their food. Plus, they don't have Dorito shells for their tacos like Taco Bell. But, I got my Taco Bell fix Saturday, so I should be good for a while. I'm glad I haven't had one specific craving so far, and I'm pretty sure Chris is glad I haven't had specific ones either (like cheese curds from Freddie's). Bathrooms that smell nasty are the worst. The two I avoid while shopping just smell like they've never been deep cleaned.
We're going to try and take my parents to supper this Sunday to share the news with them (they're busy with milo harvest, which knocks out weeknights this week). Chris wants to tell his parents the gender when we host Thanksgiving but he agrees with me that they will be told to not share the news on Facebook. I fully expect at least one of them to pitch a fit about not being able to share it on Facebook (and I really hope they don't know about the setting to exclude certain people from seeing a post). If they do, then a conversation will happen about how we do not want them posting anything (updates, announcements, or photos) on their pages or sharing any updates or photos we post. I want them to know that there will be consequences if they ignore this. I can already see my MIL trying to make a photo of our newborn her profile or account banner photo. I don't get the fascination with sharing everything on Facebook either, some things in life should stay private. I think she set up the crib for a baby she'll be watching in December but decided to try and guilt trip us. We don't need the in-laws buying diapers for us because we can buy them in bulk from Sam's club for the same price as a tiny box at Walmart. I already know my MIL will say something about herself hosting everyone for Thanksgiving next year, and that will be the moment we tell them we are not traveling anywhere over an hour away from our home at all next year.
Sadly, I think you're right. We aren't going to let the in-laws know when we're heading to the hospital for delivery. If we do, Chris already knows he'll get slammed with texts from his mother begging for updates and then pictures immediately after. We'll text my parents because we'll need someone to look after our pets while we aren't home and I know my parents aren't going to rush to the hospital to wait, my dad doesn't have the patience for that. The hospital I'll deliver in keeps the newborn in the room with the mother at all times after birth, so I know there will be nurses in and out all the time but I've been told they won't force breastfeeding if it isn't working. I'm really hoping I don't have to deal with any student doctors that might be shadowing my OB. I'm undecided if I'll post a birth announcement on Facebook with a photo. If I do it wouldn't be right away and it would be nice to keep the news from the in-laws for a few weeks at least, stave off annoying requests for photos/updates on baby.
We have a sensor on our mailbox that goes off in the house whenever something goes past it, so they wouldn't be able to do a surprise visit as we could pretend we aren't home. We will let slip that if they moved sooner they would get to see the grandchild more often but we know that won't be enough to make them move faster. Oh yeah, my MIL is the more selfish of the two, she was the one complaining about how much it costs for her husband to drive home on the weekends, yet it didn't even register that hey it probably also costs a lot for your kids to drive that same distance or more to visit you....all the time. I already knew my MIL was selfish in regards to hosting holidays, but that comment was a new level. Gas here at the local co-op is $3.09/gal last I checked but other gas stations are charging more. If Chris hadn't traded in his pickup for a smaller SUV, we wouldn't be going anywhere as much because it costs over $60 to refuel the pickup.
No problem.
My son is with you on the decorations, by the way. He has been asking to decorate for Christmas since August.

my memere decorates her tree for almost every holiday too lol. Even easter haha

I loved/hated ultrasounds!! Having to drink all that water and then hold it in was torture :( I tend to have a stuffy nose when I wake up too! It is annoying.
Just be careful and stay safe hugs
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I would freak outand totally throw all my clothes away too!!
OMG I hated that! I would smell something and no one else would. I was constantly saying "Do you smell that?" and of course the answer was no! Do you think it could be the laundry soap or his deodorant? It could be anything :( I try to sleep on my left side too because of that. Try chewing gum too! That helps me sometimes. Just nothing too strong.
Awe I can understand how you feel hugs at least you found out ahead of time. Emily was a total surprise. I never could get a clear picture of her while I was pregnant. She only wanted to show her butt!!
I am so glad you got your taco bell :D I like the dorito shells too! Having a variety of cravings is always better. That way you don't have to worry about being able to get one thing from one place. Yeah it is awful. I also worry about how germy they must be!
It really is a shame that you have to go through all of that. It should just take a simple "Don't share info on facebook" and they should just do what you say! Without all the fussing and arguing! It is your business and personal info more then it is theirs!! Your news to share or keep private. I hate people who guild others into doing what they want. Doesn't she even ask if you want to come over for the holiday or does she just announce it? So rude! I don't blame you at all!!
The last thing you want during that time is to be bugged on the phone. I would deff turn it off and ignore them. They should know that you can't use a cell phone in the hospital anyway. You could always use the "I was in a rush and left my phone at home" excuse lol. I don't have the patience for waiting around a hospital either. I am the "call me when it's done" type of person! That is the way it was when Emily was born. She stayed with me the whole time once I was awake and could move around a little. I had a c-section so she had to stay in the nursery at first. I was pumped full of good drugs. The bad part about that was they started her on bottles right away so when I tried to breastfeed she was not interested at all. She wanted the bottle :( Thankfully no student docs when I was there. You do what is best for you. You are going to be so tired, and you don't need to deal with annoying people. That is your time to just relax and enjoy your new baby <3
That is good. If I ever get a house, I want something like that! I wonder how her husband puts up with her. Some people just have no self awareness at all.
Yeah gas is crazy expensive, and getting worse. Emily and I used to love just driving around to get out of the house. Now we barely get to go out at all.
Yay for decorating! My favorite part are the lights. The more lights the better!!
If I had a house, it would totally look like this lol!

I had the cutest decorations for Easter. Little decorated eggs for ornaments and pink/blue/green garland! I even had a little bunny for the topper.
Yeah deff a shocker lol.
That is what I like best too. Well... the lights and tinsel/garland because it reflects the light. Our whole house is covered in lights INSIDE for the holidays.
We are atheists too... but we love holiday lights and giving gifts. So we celebrate the "holidays". 😆

I decorate the two windows in the front of my apartment (kitchen and living room), but only on the inside. I can't put them on the outside. This year I am planning on hanging these solar bulbs from the bottom of the second floor walkway. Hopefully they will get enough light to glow. I bought red and green ones and glued a little bow on each one. We don't celebrate in a religous way either. Just enjoy the decorations, stuff our faces and give Emily gifts :D
Sounds good to me!
We used to decorate outside too, but I always forgot to turn the lights on out there because...
...I'm not out there to enjoy them anyway? 😆
Our son was too young then to be the one to turn them on. Pretty sure he would remind me now or do it himself but I got used to not doing it.

Lol :P Thankfully I can sit here and see the lights in the living room window. I can't see the ones in the kitchen, but that is a really small window anyway. Right now I have orange lights in the window for thanksgiving. They give off a really pretty glow :)
I have different lights in every room. I like classic white lights all over for the library where we put the tree. Blue lights in the bedrooms. Red lights in the office and hallway, and multicolored lights in the living room where mostly my son hangs out.
And I have matching garlands that set off the colors well. I do have some bough-type garland, but I like the tinsel type that is metallic to set off the lights. :D

I have white lights on the tree, but I love multicolored lights around the windows. Silver garland on the tree, but green/red decorating the outside. I like the metalic tinsel too.
I'm looking forward to Luminaire this year. I have missed the last few years completely. Somehow, it adds to the holiday vibes. All the cute little outfits and plushies and stuff. 😆

I love seeing what Melody gives out every day :D I don't get presents in rl so it is always great to get those items!! Hoping for some really cute wearables <3
Those too, though I don't do "Cute" HAs usually. 😆 I umm... don't know if I'm capable of making a cute one really.
I always like getting and giving presents on here. I feel bad though sometimes because there have been times when I couldn't afford the type of gifts other people gave me. Like... CWs and stuff? For real? 20m achievement items? Who can do that for all their friends here? :o

Lol! I always go for cute. Probably because I live in stretchy pants and tshirts in rl! I get to dress my HA in things I don't have.
I love giving gifts on here! I usually save up some stuff all year and then spend the whole month gifting. If I had to gift all at once, then I wouldn't be able to go overboard the way I try to. I do it a little bit at a time! You should never feel bad about what you give hugs I love any gifts, and I am sure most of us feel that way <3 The holiday is all about fun and being happy!
Opposite here! I wear business professional to work, dress cute to go out at least once a week... and honestly dress pretty cute any time I'm not at work.
So on here, it's like Halloween all year round. Love creepy HAs.
