I recently got my copy of Taboo by Hannah Ferguson, which reminds me that I need to finish her first book - Bite Back! I was really enjoying the book until life got in the way, so this is a great opportunity to finish it before I sink my teeth into the new book.

Finally, FINALLY, finished The Lord of the Rings. Except for the appendices, I haven't made my way through all of those yet. But I can move on to other books now, yay~

So now I'm reading King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. I've been waiting months to find this book on the library shelves, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

I just finished reading Medusa by Nataly Gruender. It's my second Medusa themed book this year. I read Stone Blind earlier in the year and really loved that, also. I've been into Greek mythology retellings lately.

The Witching Hour by Anne Rice, in anticipation of my NOLA trip.

Have you read Circe by Madeline Miller? So good.

Yes!!! I loved it so much that after I returned it to the library, I bought the special edition of it. I also bought her other book, Song of Achilles. Another great one.

Have fun in NOLA! Are you going for Mardi Gras? That's right around the corner now, it seems. Time flies.

King of Scars was SOOO good! It was absolutely worth all those months I spent waiting for it to be returned to the library. Have to try to get the next book soon, the ending has left me in great suspense.

Currently reading A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I've actually considered starting this series several times, but the cover blurb always made it sound more 'heated' than I generally like my books. In an interesting quirk of fate, though, a couple of people from a craft group at my library happened to be talking about it last time the group met so I was able to ask someone who had already read it about the spice level. Thanks to their recommendation, I finally committed to finding a copy to read, and I have no regrets so far.

A Court of Thorns and Roses was REALLY good! Like, I finished the whole book in three days good. So I'll have to remember to thank the person that helped me decide to give it a try. It was ever-so-slightly spicier than I expected, but not by much. The few instances of spice were pretty vague, though, and easily skipped over. It was just nice to find a book where the characters had MUCH better things to do with their time and the heated moments weren't the focus of the plot. (I've read way too many books that sound interesting and are okay at the start but end up with the plot only serving the spicy bits, and I'm so over it.)

I have already picked up the next book in the Court of Thorns and Roses series, but I'm holding off on it so I can read the other book I got at the library - Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo, which is the second book of the King of Scars Duology. I was honestly worried someone would have picked it up before I got back to the library and I'd end up having to wait weeks for it to come back in, since that's what happened with every other book in the Grishaverse. Glad to have finally broken that trend and excited to get into this book.

On the dual read of TOG, which my best friend turned me on to! Hoping to finish the series by the new year so I can start in on the world of Brandon Sanderson (my husband is dying for me to read them so he can finally geek out about it with me!)

Finished Rule of Wolves last night! Took a bit longer to get through than usual thanks to my holiday gift making rush, but it was SO good. Most of the plot points were wrapped up near perfectly, but the possible sequel tease it ended on was agony since, so far as I can tell, another installment has yet to be published.

Next book is A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I have high hopes for this book since the first of the series was so enjoyable.

Getting to the last few books in the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. Ngl I found "so long and thanks for all the fish" boring. I like me some romance but there was so little tension imo just makes it bland. (healthy relationships? how boring) Drama adds spice in romance lol. Glad it picked up the pace and the intergalactic BS once Ford showed up again.
