Earlier in the year I tried to star Liu Cixin's Three-Body Problem, which is hard sci-fi combined with Chinese history and politics. Last time I had to give it up because the book is incredibly dense with its theoretical parts and deals with like... astrophysics and nanotechnology and whatnot, but I'm bravely trooping through and it's actually quite fascinating. Still incredibly dense and challenging, though.
But now I'm reading Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui! I've been wanting to read this manga ever since I saw its premise somewhere on the 'net. Was quite excited to learn my library had it, but the first five or so volumes were out for WEEKS. Every time I checked for about two months, always gone, so when I went for my usual library run today and found them on the shelf, I swept the first six volumes into my arms and ran off with them. I'm... not exactly proud to be that person, but I didn't want to wait another month plus to get the middle volumes if they were checked out before I went back again.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. I read it years ago, but like it a lot and decided to read it again.
"Time spent with good people is never time wasted." - Detective Llewellyn Watts (Murdoch Mysteries, season 15, episode 18 - Patriot Games)
Current book is Demon in my View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. Pretty sure I read this one ages ago, but I love this author, so I'm willing to read it again. (It won't be a long read, anyway, it's about novella length, it'll go quick.)

Picked up a book from Walmart (funny enough) a few months back on a whim. Gonna give it a try.
The Gentlemen's Book of Vices by Jess Everlee
Sounds very interesting and I do hope I will enjoy it. I should, as I try not to be too picky with books if i can help it.
Shattered Mirror, also by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, is my current read. It'll probably be fairly quick, too. It's technically the sequel to Demon in my View, but other than a few side characters making a second appearance, it's a whole new cast, and you don't really need to have read the prior book to understand this one, all doing so really gives you is a little background on a couple of things that are mentioned briefly.

So did you enjoy the book? The title sounds sophisticated and amusing.
Not yet. I'm a very slow reader due to poor vision sadly. ;_; but I will let you know how the book goes ASAP!
Followed that up with Falcondance by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, which was fantastic, but I REALLY wish I could find the book that takes place between it and Hawksong. I mean, it's not strictly necessary to read the series in order, Falcondance stands on its own well enough, but I felt like I was missing a lot by not knowing how the people went from their original lands to the new one.
And now I'm reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I've read so many good things about the Grisha trilogy, so I'm pretty excited to have finally snagged the first book.

Nearly finished with Dune: House Harkonnen :)
It has some really depressing parts. Especially as this is a prequel and you know where some of the characters end up.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab. This had such a interesting premise but really fell flat for me.

Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire is my next read. I've been waiting over a month for this book, it's the only Wayward Children novel I have left to read.
EDIT (8/17): I LOVED Beneath the Sugar Sky. Really wish I'd been able to read it before some of the other Wayward Children books, would have made a couple of the other books make more sense. It's not really necessary to read them in any certain order, I'd have just preferred to have read this one before I read Cora's book.
Next up is Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. Second book in the Grisha trilogy! I was honestly terrified this book wouldn't be in and I'd have to wait a month or more for it to return, as has been my luck with other books. But it was in, as was the last book in the trilogy, and I grabbed both, so now I don't have to worry about it!
EDIT (8/21): Siege and Storm was a RIVETING read. I love seeing all the characters and their relationships evolve as all the event unfold. It makes them seem so REAL.
Now for the last book of the Grisha trilogy; Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. (I feel kinda silly writing her name every time for each book of the series, but since I know series where there are different authors for some of the books, I also feel like it's necessary...)

Just started reading fourth wing! c:
Currently reading two books!
The Cherry Walkers by Sarai Walker on audiobook; it's a suspenseful gothic horror about this family of 6 sisters set in the 1950s who have been cursed to die a mysterious death after each of them gets married. Only one of the sisters, Iris, manages to escape the curse and now lives under a different identity in present day. I'm only a quarter of the way through and I'm curious to see the source of their bad luck!
Beasts of a Little Land by Juhea Kim. I'm a huge sucker for historical fiction as well as destined lovers, so this is a great novel so far. I'm about halfway through!
just started The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake

I am currently reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. Wonderfully absorbing book with top notch writing.
Current book is Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno. I snagged it because it didn't seem to be part of larger series, and it involves Darth Sidious. Had to have my beau give me a crash course in the first two prequel movies, though, since it's set right before Episode III. I still hate the first six Star Wars films, just absolutely cannot sit through any of them (and believe me, I've tried), but I'm devoted enough to learning the lore to keep picking up the old "non-canon" novels. (If you read "non-canon" in a sarcastic tone and with an eye roll, you caught my tone exactly! Try as they might, Disney can't just make all this lore go away.)

These past two weeks I reread Terry Pratchett’s Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Jingo, and The Fifth Elephant, and now I’m reading The Truth for the first time. I’m hoping to read the entire Discworld series by the end of the year.
