[sub]while this thread is getting spicy, and i'm too tired to actually read everything, i did think about the stuff that keeps me on this site as compared to others, and what i'd personally love to see get worked on.

the things i enjoy - the wardrobe. the revamp was very much needed and it still has a few hiccups, but comparing the subeta wardrobe to others, i'd argue that it's one of the most convenient on sites these days. the hide tool, the easy layering, and the sorted item types really save on time and encourage unique HA creation. i don't personally use the drawer function but it also seems to help people.

the cws, for obvious reasons - it adds flavor. i love that users can create items and get them onsite! and the cw directory. i adore. that. directory.

the leniency and lack of filtering. not everyone is a miscreant like me, but it's far easier on subeta to code, interact and simply exist without feeling like there's a noose around your neck. i'm not constantly worrying that i'll be banhammered for logging on. scode is pleasantly simple and the pet profiles here are unlike any i've seen before. while the latter is mostly due to the creativity of the individual, subeta serves as the stage they're set on, and it's honestly a breath of fresh air to be able to put some coding up without fear of having everything wiped.

the humor. in a world of special snowflakes, subeta seems to dance surprisingly well on the fine line between satire and inclusivity. yall can make people feel welcome while also not taking everything seriously to the exact degree. i sincerely appreciate that.

on the opposite side, here are a few things that i'd wager need some TLC (aka my list of minor inconveniences):

the shoutbox widget. yes, i'll beat the dead horse. the sb was my first home on subeta. granted i've withdrawn since then, but had it not been for the sb, i wouldn't be lurking on this site today! part of the hook was that little widget, being able to glance at the sidebar and join in the chat. it's far less appealing with that 'closed for the holidays' sign and with having to need to click into the full page. and yes, that is laziness on my part. i also realize it slows the site down, especially during events so i get that but i can't help mentioning it. ;u;

the cw directory doesn't tend to load in every item on every page. it's a minor inconvenience at best, but it isn't a cache issue and the unloading items change with each refresh on different devices. more of a shrug to that.

titles/achievements. i just like variation, so i'd love to see more titles added. i'm not really an achievement hunter but i do tend to pay more attention when titles are involved!

that's about it. i don't really have any new ideas, i'm sorry! i think i saw someone mention user-submitted plot plans and i 100% back that idea, but yeah. personally i don't see the site dying. i think it's improving now after a plateau was hit. drama scared some people away, but that's always going to be the case. just hang in there staffers, and definitely consider adding some fresh blood to ease the strain of running shorthanded. I’ve seen a couple people mention achievements and I’d like to throw in a request for higher tiers on ALMOST ALL of the tier-based achievements. Especially books read to a single pet, hehehe

I would like to see more plushie tiers past 3500 myself, and biting achievements for Survival past 100. The biting one is so easy to get.

i'm not @-ing you to start a discussion, but if I may give you a suggestion, how about you give actual feedback? what do you actually want keith/the staff to do? what are the changes you want to see?

(i get that you're frustrated but maybe you could put that energy into helping the site if you do want it to be better - wanting staff to just tell you they're working on things isn't a productive use of anyone's time)

First of all, fix all of the little glitches that are inconvenient for the userbase, glitches that have sometimes been lingering for months, if not years.

Pet leashes are not working properly for transferred pets. Advertising forum is still broken. There are tons of little inconveniences, things that should have been fixed and aren't.

Second, focus on more QoL stuff that have been promised.

We've been told that there would be more pet/battle focused subscriptions things since...well, subscriptions were introduced. We still don't have a way to change subscriptions without cancelling, btw.

Speaking of pets, when we have gotten non-unique names, we were told that there would be a way to buy more renames. We still don't have that either, and that was promised almost a year ago. Mention the year an event item is from in the shop search, and so on.

When I mention the lack of SBQ and Vanity release, they're also a problem, because they bridge a gap between main shop clothing (which are often outdated and in need of a revamp) and CWs (which, even with the price cut, aren't especially a good option for f2p players - I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's unwelcoming for casuals to have to save 40M for a shirt.)

Third don't force social interaction, especially not via forums

Seeing that the plan for events going forward is to get away from "claim" thread is not exactly good news. No, claim threads aren't exactly substantial, but forums aren't exactly the preferred way of communication - even on thriving sites,

A lot of people aren't keen on using the forums in the first place. Perhaps they're anxious, perhaps they're not that social, or perhaps they're just not comfortable with English. Or, they just don't like using forums.

The problem with events isn't claim threads, and I'm not sure why staff determined they were. They're a simple, yet efficient way to actually participate in an event, without being stressful towards the userbase.

Finally, actually finish what you've started, especially concerning big projects.

Subetapedia? The Teahouse? The Main Shop Rarity Squash? The Garden Revamp?

We have absolutely no update on any of this, and while we have vague ETA for the forum revamp, sMail revamp and pet profiles 2.0, it seems like Subeta is biting far more than it can chew.

It’s VERY easy to get cws and not spend a single cent on csc with real money.

One releaser alone has over 300 CWs approved on site and has spent not a single dollar on csc. Just because some people don’t want to put the time and effort into cws doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.

300 might not seem like many cws to have on site given the thousands available, but currently only TWO users on site who aren’t artists themselves have over 1000 on site.

CWs aren’t nearly as unattainable now as they used to be, it costs a MAXIMUM of 600 CSC to get an item into the queue and most items cost less. So this argument that they’re so unattainable and expensive doesn’t hold much water anymore...

sounds great, i agree with some of those. and now that you made your wants known, we have to let staff work. none of that is going to get done in a few days.

not @-ing but this is for you/staff: what if you guys made a site-wide poll with the more popular suggestions? so we can see what's in more demand and you guys can prioritize that? that would also probably quell some of the disquiet, if people know what you're working on next is proven to be of highest demand.

this is more me trying to think of a way to actually put all of this feedback to work lmao

"One releaser alone has over 300 CWs approved on site and has spent not a single dollar on csc. Just because some people don’t want to put the time and effort into cws doesn’t mean it isn’t possible."

This might be an outlier. It's not something especially frequent. Most people have 0 CWs submitted on site, after all.

Not everyone has the time and energy to treat Subeta as a full time job. The 2020 pandemic allowed a lot of people to stay home, and some people can afford to go and spend a lot of time on the site, but it isn't everyone's reality.

Do not say that it's because people "don't want to put the time and effort" as it's belittling to people who just cannot put the time and effort, either for work, familial or health reasons.

CWs ARE an expensive hobby to get into. Period. They're not exactly casual-friendly. Good that you personally enjoy it, but a lot of people ARE left out because the entry fee is too high, thus, we need other alternatives - alternatives that we used to have.

The problem is that some of these issues...they've been here for years. A lot of these really should have been dealt a while ago. Like, the problems I've listed - none of them are really new things.

Having an ETA for most of the issues would absolutely help, but there is no denying that...a lot of things were really left to fend on their own. This thread has so many examples of things that needs to be worked on, things that I am absolutely forgetting.

I don't know. If I wasn't in a rush to head to work, I could just go and compile everything. There is just so many legitimate criticism and a lot to actually be worried about.

Get of your high horse and don’t bother pinging me again. All you are is negative. Suggesting cw releasers just don’t submit stuff and telling people not to volunteer does no good.

Spreading rumours to friends that the site is closing doesn’t do any good either so... hey to each their own. You clearly hate the site so stop harassing those of us that don’t.

And actually NONE OF US aside from some Cw artists treat cws on subeta as a “full time job” we have families and health issues too, we just don’t sit here throwing fits because we’re miserable and wanna spread that around.

No one needs your negativity targeting them.

The amount of stress this site is causing you is so clear from your posts. If there is nothing left for you to do onsite and you NEED these new content updates to feel happy here, then I hope you can find it within yourself to take a break and just get away from this. 'Using' the subscription you paid for this month is NOT more important than your mental health. You > Subeta

I'm not sure if you're just trolling at this point or what, but in the off chance you actually do want suggestions; I recommend looking for a few friends or something and doing something fun together to pass the time. You're 100% right some of these things have been on the back burner for years, so stop holding your breath and let yourself move on. (Personally, I'm doing some art prompt stuff this month with my husband to keep me occupied! It's quite fun and has taken a lot of stress off my plate about Subeta :) IDK what you like to do, but maybe you can find something??)

Offering options such as artists contributing to site like they did for masq a few years back is also an option. Perhaps we could have a "username" line where 5 items are more like delish price or subq price and it can be from the cw artists or even maybe people who are new to the art world of subeta. A LOT of people offered up items when the masq event happened and those ended up being really cool trinket buyable items. The artists would get more exposure, people could pay a LITTLE less for "cw quality art" and we could personally bridge the gap and help subeta staff work on other things that can help fix the site rather than rolling out a zillion event items every holiday or for subq, or delish.

^ agree with kat here that opening up the site for more user submitted stuff might lighten the load, and those items would be more accessible than cws in their current price range.

Please do not make any assumptions about my mental health. That's extremely rude.

Hell, your entire post is extremely patronizing towards me, implying that "i just need to find friends uwu".

This is a great idea! Esp love the idea of having the "USERNAME-line" type of collections. There were def some real great items designed for masq, and this could also be a way to release more of the Fashion Star Sticker items that were given to the winners of the masq design contest! 👀

My sincerest apologies.

[edit] Sorry, I keep seeing you edit your post so I'm not sure what else to say. I wasn't saying "Go find new friends" I was suggesting talking with your current ones. I realize my word choice was poor. Again, I apologize for the assumption, and I will let you be, as I did step out of line.

I'm still not capable in doing a proper post that can add value much but I just wanted to add some smol lil comments.

But as what said, a lot of us try in our way to help provide chances to CW stuff to more people, either by giving away CWs/CW Designs/CSC etc during user-run events. We're not obliged to, but we genuinely enjoy releasing CWs and hope for more people to share the joy in it.

The constant bashing of CWs as the community that somehow ruined it all or implying that the site is focusing on other stuff because CWs are doing great, just is not giving any one a fair chance on how we hope to contribute to the site too. We obviously love what we do and it just saddens me to see the hate that exists around CWs.

I am appreciative of all the changes over the years that made the site a better place and I genuinely thank the site staff that keep the site running. It's not perfect, nothing will ever be But please don't make it sound like the site is being abandoned..

I know this is kinda derailing the board a bit more, but I am all in for more site events that might allow users to submit art for site items as what suggested too! Maybe we could make it like a separate queue where we submit all these items and gets approved/selected over a period of time, similar to how the pet spotlight might be (but instead of just one item a day, we could maybe do 5 or 7 items a week at one shot to make it themed ??)

[edit] that and we could consider it being all released in a NPC shop also? a NPC shop that sells user-created content? That way it's available to everyone but also uses whatever algorithm it has with all other NPC shop restocks too

oh i actually like waijay's idea as well! having a way to submit items for the site to release instead of us releasing them as cws sounds pretty cool and i'd be down for that

/edit: thinking more on the subject, i'm an avid pretty-item-collector as i like putting stuff in treasure chests, I'd love to be able to submit items w/o wearable overlays - those would be released by the site to be buyable for everyone to use too! sometimes you just need a specific thing for a TC you know xD

I'm going to head out but I wanted to let anyone talking about CW suggestions that put out an AMAZING thread with SO MANY ideas, and that thread could definitely use all your support and attention. I'm seeing a lot of things suggested here that we could all group together and refine in one place :)
