Maybe I should have used the title "Site features you would like to see get more focus" instead? Would that have been more appropriate?
That said, I do feel like the minion zoo has been neglected aside from the planned battle thing. People have been asking for achievements for having specific minions in there, which would make people more inclined to use it.
I'd like to see the Delphi Museum of Modern Art get some love. It has a lot of potential to be a neat feature for exploring Subeta lore and culture.
Either or is fine.
Me personally, I think it is difficult to work on site features when everyone is aware the site is strung together with lots of old code. The new website is getting focused and worked on which should help as more features get migrated over on the newer better infrastructure. A lot of people love this site and our staff are still dedicated. Pretty sure both Bug and Keith are volunteering their time because Subeta definitely doesn't pay their bills. New site items are still being released. I do agree I miss pet releases as this is a pet site but what brings money is the human avatar aspect of the site. Some quickie achievements might be nice filler. More forum titles.
We had some new books there last year, and I remember seeing them in the directory before they were released and wondering where they would go cause they were of the Artifact rarity but the official prices were too low to be for the Millionaire Centre, because I'd forgotten about the museum shop.
Oh, I know there's still often items being released, it's just that most of them are in the same few places and it would be nice to see some more variety in the places that the new items become available from.
I made a topic about this, but - If wearables are the site's bread and butter, the fact that we've gone this long without a new Delish set is...I'm not here to pretend Deco was YEARS and YEARS ago - it wasn't - but 5 months in a new year and there's not one new one?
Also, isn't there usually new Vanity stuff at the turn of spring? I know, human fashion doesn't change that quickly that often (jeans are jeans, right?), and CWs are probably intended to fill in that gap both item and money wise.
I know a lot depends on Rah (and I hope she's doing good!)
-Art Museum -Battle Shop -Main Shops (honestly we could use a retirement wave and bring in new items) -Tea House -Polar Ice Fields (kinda would like to see more done here)
And well everything else has already been said by others.
Achievements would be my hope for an area of focus.
I would especially love to see the broken achievements fixed (ex. Filled Wardrobe, Richest User), and any achievements that we can no longer get be retired or reactivated (ex. Dungarde’s Quests). And I’m holding out hope for a Minion Collector achievement at some point!
"but what brings money is the human avatar aspect of the site."
The moment pet slots are added in the Cash Shop, or even the MC, the bar maxes out pretty quickly.
MC doesn't move money it moves SP which is why I am not counting those slots.
In terms of CWs versus pet slots/overlays, CWs are definitely bringing in cash all year around. We are a pet site yes, but there are many players who have more CWs than pet slots. Many pet owners who don't utilize custom overlays. Even the battle opponents monthly doesn't compare to CWs.
What would be cool to bring more $ on site pet related would be to pay for pet profile images to be hosted on site. The issue is then again another approval process for the images which means more staff time looking. Would also kill for custom non-wearable items again as TC fodder.
Banners could use a revamp which again is a feature that could be bought with CSC.
What is great about Subeta is that CSC is easy to get without spending real life cash. But the site also definitely needs cash.
"We are a pet site yes, but there are many players who have more CWs than pet slots."
That seems very flawed to compare this. The wardrobe doesn't have a item number cap - so yeah, most users are gonna have more CWs, or wearables in general than pets.
If pet slots were as cheap as CWs, I'd have more pets than CWs. But they're not. Comparing them doesn't really make sense.
If there was some kind of pet-focused subscription, I'd pay for that too. The CW perks are a great deal and I wish there were more tiers with stuff for pets and battling.
Just from clicking around people's profiles who post on the forums and the shoutbox most are under 20 pets. There are exceptions with those over 40 and even fewer over 60. I would love to see site wide stats.
Then count into play that up to 8 slots so far have been given as prizes, there are the MC ones up to 25 now, and then if you so choose you can use totems. Slots you can buy is capped now at 55 which at 15$ a pop is 825. How many users do you know bought them all? I know multiple people who have spent more than that on CWs either getting them on site or on themselves.
Add in pet slots and overlays are now no longer discounted during black Friday sales. While I understand pets are more expensive and capped versus CWs. I think it is safe bet to say CSC value of CWs versus pet slots/overlays is skewed towards CWs for most players. Of course there are exceptions but the fact CWs brings in $ and regularly has to be noted especially around Subeta holidays with contest prizes .etc luminaire gifts, limited releases .etc.
As a person who has spent more money on their pets than the wardrobe, I wish there was more ways to spend money that benefited what I like about the site. I am a subscriber and I do nothing but regift the vouchers. I wish it had a more pet centric option.
I think the site does focus more on human avatars with item releases and cw revamp, wardrobe revamp, now CWs can do limbs and facial features.etc but they have to because that is what brings in more money. If pets brought in more money, I think then pet related revamps would be more abundant but they aren't.
I personally haven't paid for all my petslots as many were MC/totems/prizes and I am at 60 right now. But I do try to pay for custom overlays for most and trying to finish them. Like I said I wish I could pay to host images for their profiles so I never have to worry about the hosting going down or poof and losing it forever. Custom non-wearable items to use in my pet's treasures would be amazing. Hell I would totally be down for fundraising a pet color or new species even though we have so many in need of colors. More pet related stuff would be awesome because I do feel that it is neglected. Though again I do also really love that colors are not CSC dependent other than black light/angelic.
As someone who is also here for the pets: I LOOOVE this idea!! It'd be so cool to have this capability! <3
Gunter in prison, the Dungarde in the Skelly Crypt, Ecks and her whole Underground plan and the Teahouse
I would like to actually see the promised Tea House one day. I mean, wasn't there even an sP pool way back for the planned new features? Would be just fair if we would see sth. for our money at some point. :)
sMail. :C I think this has been 'on the list' or mentioned by staff since my early years here and it's never been fixed. I use the feature a lot, and it's often... a massive hassle.
That being said, my honest hope is that we're just not seeing a lot of the work being done. I feel like the stuff for the new site is probably a lot of 'can't show and tell' type work (or at least, this is what I'm trying to keep my mind thinking so I stay positive.)
+1 for wanting to make non-cw items. Please let me make item image only stuff. There are SO MANY items missing from the site that do not need a wearable version honestly. Please.
I'd love for there to be some sort of update/progress done with the restocking/main shops.
Keith announced the "upcoming rarity squish" back in July of 2020 saying that it would be rolled out "over the next couple of months" but hasn't updated that thread with any new information in almost a year.
Personally, as someone who earns the majority of my sP as a restocker, I would be pretty happy just going back to the old system of random restocks and refreshes of stock in the main shops, even if that was just a stop-gap fix until the rarity squish thing happens. As it stands, with shops stocking every six minutes on the dot, and the stock only refreshing once a day, it's a) way less fun, and b) way less profitable. Restockable items that used to re-sell for millions of sP are under 50-100k now (looking at you, ).
