That sounds lovely, it is nice when the dollar store is like actually well maintained instead of stuff just thrown everywhere XD
Yeah. She's a sweetheart. :D Lots of rock and indie. 80s/90s stuff. But I like to discover new stuff too :)
It was really nice for a dollar store!! :-D Beautiful HA!! Your eye still acting crazy?
Do you like Nirvana? They were a Seattle band but I saw them in concert in Atlanta, right before Kurt Cobain died. I also liked/like Alice in Chains and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Those are probably the more tame bands from back then. lol
@ Cassildra @ Diana
I like TV better than music, but I'm not much for either one honestly, I like quiet too much (and to hear myself think). I like to read! I read a lot of books (used to read more, but recently I write a lot and that takes time that would've used to be for reading)...
Most recent books read: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke, and Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, in the last 10 days or so.
I did kind of like Red Hot Chili Peppers though, I had a tape by them called "blood sugar sex magic" that had some good songs on it...
Oooh really like the current HA, those are some pretty shades of blue!
I love both. Very good bands. I am still sad about Kurt Cobain, lol.
I heard Spinning Silver was REALLY good. I have a copy floating around somewhere, I should find it...
All I did when I was younger was read. Then cell phones got fun. Lol I'm glad you're getting some writing accomplished! It's not always, or maybe ever, easy. Going to Google those books. :-) Been seeing your HA and meaning to tell you I like it.
There's a street a few hours from where I live named after him. (In Aberdeen, WA) His passing was sad!
Definitely sad. I'm surprised there's only one street named after the guy--he was so influential.
its slowly getting better idk what happened
aw thanks :D time to change it again lol
There's probably more named after him. I just know of one. But this is cool, there's a sign leading into his hometown that says: "Welcome to Aberdeen – Come As You Are" Now that song is going to be stick in my head. Lol
I'm glad it's getting better!! <3 Love your blue HA!!
me too, gotta keep changing!
thanks!
(to you and to too ) Spinning Silver was very good, but not the very best book ever or anything, I liked it a lot though. The storytelling and scene setting and overall theme stuff was top notch, the romance subplots were not especially good though.
There's nothing bad about that as a song stuck in your head. I really enjoy it, anyway.
Oh, that's slightly disappointing!
Spinning Silver does look good!! But you know me and fantasy books - biographies more my thing. Cool HA!!
I put the song in my Current Favs playlist so I'm sure I'll be listening to it a lot more. :-D
Awesome call. :) I've been listening to a lot of grunge in general lately. Eddie Vedder is the only grunge frontMAN left. I'm kind of salty--I was never a huge Pearl Jam fan, but I understand music has its dangers like anything else.
I was never a huge Pearl Jam fan either but besides Nirvana I really liked/like Alice in Chains. Their song No Excuses used to be my fav song. But since I wasn't totally into grunge my knowledge of it is fairly limited.
So funny story. When I was 10, my parents split and I (re-) met my older half brother, who moved in to help with expenses etc. He was 21, so there was a fairly large age gap there.
He introduced me to grunge, punk, and rock. Before that I listened to the early 90s equivalent of Kidz Bop and Disney and 50s/60s music. It was funny.
That is funny!! :-D 10 years old and listening to grunge! :-D And I was living in Atlanta and all of the grunge were coming from my home town of Seattle. Do you still see or talk to your older half brother that made you cool? :-)
I don't see him anymore, but I do talk to him often (via my mom, who lives with him now). He's probably my best friend in the family, now that we're adult enough to admit two things: I was a bratty little sister, and he was a jerk of a big brother. XD
:-D At least you're both adult enough to admit your mistakes. I have a younger brother and I used to bully him a bit, until the day he kicked my rear and I never bullied him again. :-P We're friends but rarely talk but he does always call me on my birthday.
Makes sense. Family can be complicated.
