And because i have nothing better to do. Some more items that could use a layer change. This time in a brand new format. I might use CW's to make a point if super similar items are spread across several layers. *= has recolors
From shoulder to > Held Overchest [item=][item=] Back Arms * Backdrop Neck
Ear to> Hair Head *
Body to> Ears Overchest Shoulders [item=][item=] Foreground Waist Chest
I am also seeing tons of tattoos and wounds lumped in body regardless if they cover a larger part of the body or just one part. Not shure if all tatoos/wounds should go to the body layer or if those already in body should be sorted by body part.
Anyway, do with this what you want.
Dunno if these ones here have been already adressed but I just looked for fun through my head layer and found some hairs which are not correctly layered. ^^
Also I love the new hair layer. Kudos to all who made this happen!
New day, new hot takes about layers. *=has recolors
Lots of items in body that could just as well have been a skin. They seem like THE thing full body was made for. So body to full body
Also, stuff that is in foreground but is literally the ground or something ground adjecent the HA is standing on Foreground to ground +all legendary tracks except the Shadowglen Backwoods Legendary Track
Foreground to fullbody *
There's something odd about seeing in the ARMS layer.
I'm catching up (and mostly have done so!) I wanted to ping you because you are making a lot of large posts (which is great!) but a lot of them aren't necessarily where something really belongs, but more of your opinion. This is absolutely fine, but we are only moving things that are blatantly in the wrong layer (like a wig that somehow ended up in body instead of hair, or shoes that somehow ended up in background instead of feet, etc). I understand there is a lot of confusion because a lot of official art of similar styles ends up on different layers, but we're trying to focus on things that are very obviously in the wrong layer, rather than seem like they MIGHT be better here versus here :)
While I agree I might have gone a bit overboard with the post length I personally disagree with the fact that I have suggested most things to be moved to another category because I just felt like it. Most if not all suggestions were suggested because very similar items existed in the category I suggested it to be moved to in either similar or higher ammounts. I might not have provided that information before as I should have (probably with each individual suggestion).
Lots of categories are simply much less well defined than the hair category and without official guidelines (like one that might possibly have been made for at least the hair layer during the sorting process, and as you said you guys are working on something like that) we users can only guess as to where a item belongs. The only thing users can currently base any suggestions on is by looking at what is primarily found in a given category. This makes "this one color of this set of pants is in a different category" the only possible suggestion that can be made not based at least slightly on personal preference.
Now I might have given you a lot of work in one heap, and I want to apologise for that. I never meant to force someone to do lots of work to my whims, just to bring problems to light for admin consideration but I recognise that it might not have come across as that. I appreciate the work done and being done at sorting the layers.
edit: You probably knew about these already, but these are as close to layer guidelines as we currently have (unless I missed something). So I am just leaving them here. Wardrobe Layer Revamp Proposal Layer Clarity!
Actually, as I said above, this is the perfect place to point out things just blatantly being wrong -- like someone who pointed out a wig was on the body layer, and a dress on the foreground layer. However, a lot of things are not going to be shifted from say, shoulder to neck when they really are okay in either or. I'd love to have more specific definitions of what goes on which layer, which is what we've done with the new custom wearable system (and why some old CWs will not match new CWs), and that's definitely something I'm hoping we'll work on in the future!
That being said, reporting things like one color of something being in a different layer than other things is still important for us to know and to correct!
[item2=Red Braided Cables] It's in the head layer. All other Braided Cables colors are in the Hair layer.
seems to be in Head rather than Hair. All the other ones like are in Hair.
oops, duplicate! ChatLunatique got here before me 😁
Hi c: I noticed the item is listed under Backgrounds but it looks like it's a clothing accessory. Maybe Shoulders or Back?
EDIT 8/29- I always forget exists, feels like more of a lower back item rather than a legs item!
