Sounds like me, come summer when the blackberries and raspberries ripen. Thank goodness the bears are usually timid around people, the bushes fight me hard enough on their own, I don't know what I do if the bears fought me for the fruit too. (They already get all my apples, plums, and blueberries as is.., and the racoon eats all my quince.., sigh)

Drools I love blackberries and raspberries! I had one dog she had a thing for apples. Geez having bears close is worrisome, If only they were like Yogi Bear cartoon, just have to keep picnic baskets around they would leave your fruit alone.

The tourists are more worrisome than the bears most of the time. :D We had one (bear) walk right into the local Safeway last Summer and start helping himself to groceries, but most of the time they shy away from people. Blackberries and raspberries are the best! They are the only thing I'll actually compete with the critturs over.

Oh you have to tell me what state your from if you did, before I am sorry. But sounds like issues that happen in my Home state of Montana. But live in Texas now in area safe from bears. Tourists in Yellowstone Park are such morons, they have to have pics with the fluffy cows bigger than a truck (bison). All us locals laugh are hinnies off at the city folks.

I live on the California-Nevada border near Lake Tahoe. (Hence the problem with tourists)

I bet you have issue with city folks that are hunters wannabees and shoot anything with 4 legs. Oh Man I have never been to Lake Tahoe, but know the tourists love to flock there. I would go there out of tourist season, just to avoid the city folks and their fancy notions. I live in a city border with Mexico, so not a fan of the city life and mentality. Oh their version of mountains, are nothing more than scrub covered hills. BUT oh they are so proud of their mountains. A lady from Colorado, and I laughed our hinnies off over their mountains.
