Yes I am an American! I live in Texas. So Australia is starting daylight savings time? If yes I am so sorry! :) It messes up all the Holidays because of the time change. Now that I am a senior citizen it is really rough.

Yup! There seems to be more support for abolishing Daylight Savings here now too. Arizona does not observe it at all and I think there may be at least one other state that also does not observe it, but I can't remember. It's an outdated practice that started during WWII and we just don't need to do it anymore.

He totally needed the sick day. Since he is remote learning still he can keep up to a degree and not miss much of the instruction.

~ I hope he falls asleep easier too. I do have melatonin if he as trouble. I did give him some of it last night, but it didn't help as much as I had hoped.

I may try melatonin during the holidays. I even took a Benadryl last night cause of allergies and could not sleep well! Maybe something about the weather here also. Good luck tonight. :)

It must be a mixed blessing to be doing remote learning right now I suppose. I feel bad for all the changes students are having to put up with this past year or so.

That's right here in AZ we don't change our time, thank goodness. But I love it when this time of year comes around because Subeta reset/quests goes to 9PM from 10PM so I can go to bed an hour earlier. :D

I find that for me, it helps me fall asleep faster, but doesn't help me stay asleep. With kids they can sometimes have crazy dreams on it, so I will only give it to my kids if necessary. My oldest sleep walks when he is stressed, so for him I try not to give him melatonin unless he is really struggling.

Remote learning was a no-brainer for my family. I have immuno-compromised family members and my MIL and her partner live with us From June until November. My 10 yr old also has asthma. I was not going to do hybrid and risk exposure. Massachusetts is forcing it's students back into school starting April 4th for elementary aged kids (3-11), April 28th for Middle Schoolers (12-14) and High Schoolers will be given 2 weeks notice when they are to return. My understanding is that I can keep my kids home and continue remote learning for the rest of the school year. The kids doing hybrid will be going back 5 days a week for the full school day. I'll know more about this process in a week or so.

Thank you everyone! :) And a huge thanks to those that sent gifts :) My birthday has been pretty great so far. I got three vintage mini sewing machines from my mom and fabric scissors for lefties! Just finished vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets, so the rest of my day will be spent relaxing and playing video games. :)
