If it's not something major I don't make a fuss but if I've asked for something to be left off my food or if the food's undercooked I'll politely ask for it to be remade. Most times people are good about it but once I had someone be nasty so I had to be more firm. I used to be more of a pushover but now I'm much more idgaf so I'm more likely to stand up for myself and others if someone is rude.
Overall though I'm like super easygoing when it comes to stuff like that. Mistakes happen and there's no point in getting mad about it lol I only get mad if someone's being rude or trying to cheat me.
It really depends on how bad it is. I have trouble articulating myself when I'm nervous and talking to (most) people makes me nervous so if it's a small error I just deal. But if it's really bad I'll speak up and blunder my way through it.
I don't even have the courage to pay for a service myself! If I want something (such as getting food from a restaurant for example) I have to ask either my parents to do it for me. I don't have the ability to do anything that requires having to deal with people. I'm an adult but I'm still stuck living like a child...
I've gotten to the point in life that if something is done improperly, I try to nicely point it out and ask for a solution, then progressively get more sharp fanged if the solutions I'm given aren't real solutions.
Example - if I'm served food that wasn't cooked anywhere near what I asked for, I'll gently point it out. If their solution is to take it off the bill instead of remake it how I ordered, I'll start pushing for a remake. I obviously ordered because I'm hungry, so comping it doesn't fix that I'm still hungry. Very rarely have I ever had to speak to a manager, but it has happened. Generally at Applebee's, which is why I don't go there anymore. I use to be quiet as a mouse and just pick at my food, even if it was grossly undercooked. After years though, I learned that if you don't speak up, you'll always be settling.i don't fuss about it unless i feel it's something that is severely inconveniencing me or is not what i asked for. i definitely understand the woe of customer-facing jobs since I'm in one, so I always try and go out of my way to be as nice as possible and be a good force in the world. but if I'm missing something i paid for, i would like it given to me!
If it is an issue with the product and it is easily fixable I would speak up. So for example, being given the wrong meal or steak under cooked. But if the product is just done badly or they mess up several times then I would probably not say anything and just not go there again. I think I would only complain if it were something that breached health/safety standards or was extremely consequential - E.G. getting the wrong medication from the script; maggots in food.
If it is an issue concerning the service such as, the staff are rude, or time is shorter than paid for, then I again, wouldn't say anything and just not return. Having worked in customer service before, I learnt that not everything can be fixed or improved via feedback. Sometimes it can just be the person or company culture. Also, I hate confrontation or making people feel bad/criticising them.
I think it depends entirely on the situation. Something small like putting onions on my food when I asked for no onions, I pick them off. Forgetting a food I asked for, I ask about it nicely. Overcharging me for a service or not providing a service I paid for, I will start by trying to handle it with a customer service rep but will absolutely ask for a manager if they are not resolving my issue. Depending on how things turn out, I'll leave some honest reviews on Yelp or Facebook too.
Well, that would depend on how egregious the error is. If I ordered a side of carrots and I get green beans, I'm not even going to bother mentioning it because that's fine too, I don't really care. If it's Taco Bell (because let's be honest, it's always Taco Bell, I don't really go out to eat anywhere else lol) and I ordered 4 tacos with beans instead of beef, and one has beef, then my dog gets a treat and I'm not going to bother complaining about that because I'll have enough. If all of them are beef, I'm going to have to say something because I need something I consider edible, but of course I'll be polite about it.
I've been subscribing to weekly grocery delivery because of covid and I'm not even kidding, they mess up almost every order somehow. Either there is something missing or there is something extra added to the order I didn't want (somehow, the unwanted additions are ALWAYS some form of meat or chocolate, so my dog is really getting spoiled with premium meats and my son is getting spoiled with chocolate because I don't really care about it myself). I file a polite ticket to let them know and they refund me for my missing items and apologize for the unwanted meat (which I let them know I'm not upset about and my dog will really enjoy, since they of course don't want it back and the company is based on reducing waste so I want them to know it's not just getting thrown away, and they are happy to hear about it so they can work on improving and not inadvertently sending out a bunch of valuable free stuff). It's always a pleasant and productive exchange.
Anyway, I have never had to ask for a manager anywhere. I'm always polite and I've always received prompt and satisfactory customer service, which I make sure to give positive feedback about when possible. So it's never really a big issue or anything.

Oh, sadly, Maggie's not around anymore, I just have my dog Zelda now. I'm back in the city (the same city where Maggie was from, actually) so no free-roaming for Zelda. When we were out in the country, Maggie did have freedom, mainly because she demanded it. We had five acres with sheep and chickens and she guarded them valiantly. At first, we tried to contain her for her own protection. She seemed naive and would stare down a pack of coyotes in the driveway; I feared she'd lose if she went up against them but she always managed to chase them away (she was a total boss). When we'd go into town, she would follow our vehicle, presumably the whole way if we didn't turn around and take her back, so we tried getting a chainlink kennel to put her in just while we were gone. She dug her way out and set out to find us. We put it on top of concrete and electrified it...she still got out somehow. We locked her in the house...she jumped through a closed window, forcing it open (it was the kind with panels that crank open) and knocking out the screen, to the ground which was 6 feet below. That dog would not be contained! I suspect that's actually why she was at the shelter...she had a habit of running off and only coming back when she was good and ready. That doesn't really fly in urban areas with animal control that will pick up loose dogs. (For the record, despite all her foolhardy adventures, it was a brain tumor that did her in, not wild animals or getting run over or anything...she had a good, long, happy life, I think.)
I have another large fake spider, not quite as big as Jesus, but still ridiculously big for a spider, affixed to the curtain rod in the bathroom. I don't have visitors, but in case I ever do, they're in for a surprise lol.
Yeah, well, I can't even imagine living with someone - period. I never intended to, planned to be single and childfree forever, but stuff happens. Boy, does stuff ever happen lol. I regret my decisions immensely for a number of reasons but who knows how things would have turned out otherwise? I was studying to become a geologist; maybe I would have died in a mine collapse or some crap if I had followed through. Maybe this is the best of all my possible universes. XP
Oooh, a murder mystery party! That sounds excellent! I shall suggest that to her, I'm sure she'd love the idea. Maybe by Halloween 2021 we'll be vaccinated and ready to party, I hope!
Wow, really, celery tastes bitter to you? I was aware some people have a gene that gives them an aversion to cilantro and bitter foods but I'd never heard of celery being one of the offending vegetables. It has no hint of bitterness to me. Similarly, cilantro tastes nothing like soap to me and I love the stuff. I'm glad I could help you discover something about yourself! XD
I don't like kicking up a fuss about things generally, but I might mention it (politely) if something quite big was wrong - like if part of my order was missing or they charged me the wrong amount. I don't think I'd say anything if my order was wrong though, unless it was drastically wrong and I couldn't eat it (e.g. if they brought me a meal that contained meat instead of the vegetarian version of the meal). I hear British folk have a bit of a reputation for being too polite and therefore suffering in silence, but I don't have much to compare too haha. I had my bathroom tiled not long ago and I managed to pluck up the courage to complain because the tiler just hadn't finished the job at all, but then couldn't work up the courage to complain again when the work was still in a shocking condition. I just finished it off myself in the end. I didn't even have the courage to leave him a bad review 😒
When it comes to food, I don't complain. But there have been times when the mistake cannot be ignored. Both my brothers had experienced getting raw patties in their burgers, or the wrong order for take away.
My biggest gripe is ordering a certain burger that includes jalapenos. I tend to ask for them left out, but far too often are they put in. The first time I just pick them out, the second as well. But the third time, after being specific, are they there. I just left it there, no complaints, no nothing. I no longer order them, too fast the food.
Today's question:
My personal answer: I don't ^^' I wash my face with regular body soap whenever I can remember to do so. I have the utmost respect for people who have like a 10 step skincare routine because I could never o: I have really oily skin so a good skincare routine would probably do wonders 😂

I wash my face, pat it dry and put a special cream on it to try and get rid of the dry skin/redness on my cheeks but it doesn't really help.
I'm supposed to put body cream on my hands because they get dry but I never xD
Inapplicable, no point in any care for my old leathery T-600 hide. Just dish soap twice a day. Shave once a week witha single blade, but little else.

What would your last meal be? Barring any circumstances.
Ooooh yes, doing my skincare is like my favorite part of the day. Sooo nice. I cleanse with a scentless gentle cleanser, then use my Paula’s Choice liquid exfoliant. Then my rose water and glycerine toner. I choose from a variety of serums. Then tone again. Then do my moisturizer 😁 I used to work for a spa so I learned a lot about skincare then. I never had a skincare routine before that, but now, I couldn’t even think of going back. I even got my brother hooked 😂 It’s so good! I also try to take care of my skin and body by drinking lots of water, and eating organic nutrient dense foods. Greens, fruits, and lots of healthy fats! Olive oil, avocados, coconut oil, eggs.

Usually I just wash my face and pat it dry, but after I shower I'll put a bit of Cetaphil moisturizer on my forehead because it tends to get dry.
A Korean 10-steps-guideline hangs in my bathroom yet I often don't have the time to do so. I observe that my skin is better moistered when doing so, though. So I try to be a good girl, haha.

Do you have a skincare routine? I've had eczema from childhood :( so skincare is important. I have different routines dependent on the season and condition of my skin. Have definitely gotten better at managing it since I was a teenager so it is a lot better now. Now my routine is basically just wash with water, moisturise + put on sunscreen if I am going outside.

Ah my apologies, I do remember you telling me earlier that Maggie passed away. She sounded like the best dog! It's really cool that she had a will of her own and went on those wild adventures. NGL, I do love it when dogs are a little bit cheeky 😂 it just makes for better stories. Having the freedom to roam and explore is a rare opportunity for many pets sadly. It's pretty lucky that she was with you at just the right time and place, it sounds like she was perfectly suited for country life and had a good life together with you. <3 Hearing about dogs reminds me of how much I love them.
Yeah life is full of unexpected turns and I guess many times we don't go where we originally envisioned. I guess it is best encapsulated by Robert Frost's 'Road Not Taken' poem. I am more okay with that as I get older which is nice. Oh and speaking of alternate universe have you seen the movie Sliding Doors? I watched it when I was a teenager and it left an impression on me so that is what I thought of when you mentioned that alternate scenario.
I definitely hope this pandemic will better by around this time next year and that your sister can finally host her Halloween bash. Hopefully a murder mystery one ;) ;) ;) but that's just my bias. Maybe the Halloween snacks can even be part of the clues?? I just love murder mystery set-ups so much.
Yeah I didn't know it affected celery as well. Apparently it also affects broccoli too which is interesting to know. Out of curiosity, what do brussels sprouts and arugula taste like to you? Do you find any vegetables/fruits bitter?
