That's the very reason I didn't feel a void from not having children in my thirties -- my special needs preschoolers took up all my energy, focus, and maternal feelings. I would not have had any left over for my own family, if I had had one. I always wondered how people with children managed to be able to give their all to their students and their family as well.

My daughter (the one that's due this week) worked in a preschool for special needs 3-6 year olds before she got married. She was very attached to them and brought one cute little guy home for the sabbath! His parents were so appreciative. She married and moved to a different location and I don't know if it's regular or special needs kids, she doesn't talk to us as much as before. She is totally immersed in her marriage, especially after a forced "honeymoon" in seclusion when they both were recovering from Covid19. They were in a hotel that was converted to serve "healthy" (independent) Corona positive people. They tested positive 2-3 times so they were there for 5 WEEKS.

I'm running my routine all too quickly, and it seems to be getting stale. I might consider taking a break, while I straighten out my loose ends. At least until after Vioran Soldier leaves, and my GA expires.

Hello all! Just dropping in to check on everyone, and see how your week is treating you. I am sitting here watching old reruns of Magnum P.I. - the REAL one, not that silly new one, and trying to finish quests. Been difficult the past few days, with all the site wonkiness. Hugs and blessing to all!

Mine too, didn't quest worth a damn. And my last zap made a Scribble Darkonite. Outside, I did some cleaning despite the heat. And played Mystery Dungeon, I played the level that was keeping me from progressing.

The urges are becoming uncontrollable, no amount of physical activity can pacify it. The window is set for Saturday June 27. My replacement should be arriving immediately after. He'll do fine, I won't be keeping tabs...Not from where I end up.

Aww! Congrats on that new granddaughter!! :D What happened that she had her at home? How exciting, but possibly scary if not planned. And "poop" on the carni! LOL Mean ol game operators, not giving out prizes!

She was in serious labour for only 2 hours. They didn't anticipate it being so short. :D The Douala finally came after they had been calling her for hours, then the ambulance showed up and she delivered. Then they went to the hospital. Scary and not planned but her 2 sisters and a sister in law had babies at home (only one planned!) so not unheard of, and I have a feeling her husband was calm. I don't know him that well but he seems like someone who would hold it together. He was laughing in the retelling.

I REFUSE to leave the house again until masks aren't "recommended"! I felt like I was suffocating! XD

Day 72 Haven't gotten one for a while...

I got back in the habit of carrying a handkerchief, less suffocating and totally reusable.

So glad that she delivered safely, and no complications were experienced. So happy she had folks around who could help keep her safe....and calmer than if she'd been alone. That baby will certainly have a story!

- I use a reusable/washable N95 Respirator. As an asthmatic, I find it way easier to breathe through. I also have a few cloth ones with filters that allow for easier breathing. I wish everyone would wear one, but alas, we have again politicized a health matter. SMH

While listening on Soundcloud, I came across an ad for Apple. It had a choice of words I am certain to have never seen in any ad for anything. "Best yet", Apple must've come to their senses. After so many years... My friend told me a cousin of his still uses his original iPhone, he's smart enough to keep it running. Everybody says "Best ever" for every version of every product.

hmm,....I get annoyed when I feel like that. On another note....are you still doing Duolingo? I finally made it to the Ruby league in Hebrew, Italian, and French. I am wondering if I am really retaining any of it.

No, I dropped out. Without subscription I can only make five mistakes. I feel like I'm not really learning anything practical. I wouldn't be a bad idea to try again...Maybe I should try Babbel again, regardless of it being a paid subscription type.

I never tried Babbel. You know, the best way I found to learn a language is to just go to the country, and immerse yourself in the culture. Like that is feasible....LOL I did that with Spanish, and French (I have the easiest time with this one in Duolingo, because I had learned it in the past.) I am pretty sure I could have a conversation in French....not so much the other two. lol

I can't think of many nearby places to immerse myself in Russian. Up until Babbel and Duolingo my only resource was self teaching. Spanish was easy, living near the US/Mexico border. Bilingualism is becoming scarce here, most second generation don't know much at all.

You could spar with me in comments, it'd be enlightening.
