I'm going to have to reread chapter 10 of the shop manual... seems the answers arent so obvious to find. And then get some time online to keep up with my pace.

[edit] Which turned out to be not a whole lot. My old computer is acting up, the mess it became. First the browser froze, and my attempts to save and quit were frustrated by the computer was unresponsive. It seems to be under lockdown until I try to resume this mess. On top of that, the questions online appear to not match the print copies. Figures!!!

I've only left my house twice since it started, once for a dr appt with my oncologist and once for lab work. When they told us to stay home if you can I took that seriously! Masks and kids doing school on laptops. It's crazy,

Hallo, my friend . I would have answered sooner, but classwork has priority for now. Engines aren't complicated, but they still take up time.

[edit] I learned the class average is a 67 odd score. Just sad, hinting how much some students take this class...not very seriously. My score is very different, on par with the last semester.

Day 64 These kids like me...

[edit] I just finished reading the Old Testament, took nine and a half months. I hate to think I'm even a little behind, since my reading is guided. I don't really know if I'm on schedule.

Day 65 10 CSC.

My brother is also taking it very seriously, except her has loads of grandkids. He doesn't see them a lot, but I myself have not seen him since March! My sister stopped by once, but her daughter is immuno-compromised (kidney transplant) and she babysits those grandkids, so she stays only around them. I am back at work (I broke my foot last January and didn't recuperate until Corona hit, so I was out of the loop for a LONG time), but when school partially resumed here in May, I went back. Now the schools are closed, but I am in a special ed class, and we are (still) working.

Gack! I didn't send this whenever it was I wrote it

Hmm, some online assignments can only be done on a computer... That'll wait until Friday, Shop tomorrow and I may spend some time with my nieces after coming home.

Day 66

We went further in dismantling the engines we were assigned. And took a stab at grinding components, valves this time. We normally don't reassemble, at least not tightening bolts.

My nieces went home before I came back, my afternoon is free. I'll go have some fun.

Hey guys.

One student asked if I'm under military discipline. Probably from being prepared and have a structured method to the day's work.

Its funny, when reassembling the engine I didn't use a socket to replace the cylinder head bolts to the engine block, yet the group did. Yes just finger in the bolts, do not tighen them.

Most students still make one novice mistake, depsite being reminded of it. We're supposed to wear safety glasses in shop, especially if using power tools. A instructor of another class made it clear to the group using the valve grinder. most just went on.

This got old fast...My hiatus is now in full swing, no more posts until after finals.
