Sandstorms are rare enough that it was unusual, though we do have what is known here as "hamsin" (ham being HOT and sin, , idk is it because it's hot as sin? LOL) very hot dry winds that feel like opening an oven door when you step outside. And here I am, being of American birth, thinking that Chicago was the windiest city on earth! I read a book once about a Mr Universe competition where ALL the creatures in all the universe clamoured to participate. The "Americans" (no-one would understand USians) didn't know what hit them! hehehe

I was thinking about your point when I wrote "lowest point on Earth" because really, it is only the lowest EXPOSED point ON the crust of the Earth. Most positively no the lowest point of the Earth itself (which would be the middle) and many points under the sea, obviously. But when we think about the surface, it is generally in reference to what's visible on top. At least that's the way I understand it and think others do to. But I really know too little to make that judgment.

My overhead fan was on its lowest setting, yet I felt like I was freezing. So I got out of bed and turned it off.

A lifetime of reading any book I could get does that, filling my head with such random facts.

That was me at the beginning of all of this - super productive.. tackling different things daily.. and now I've just kind of settled into a routine of doing nothing haha. I think I thought it was going to be over much sooner so I'd use it as an opportunity to do a lot of the things I've been putting off.. then it kept dragging on and on so now I'm just trying to do things that I enjoy.

I went to bed three hours early last night, so I've got a lot to catch up on!

I've been really lucky, computer-wise, because my husband has always built our desk-tops, so they run really smooth and fast. Then, recently, I got an amazingly good deal on a gaming lap-top. I just work better with a keyboard and mouse than I do with console controls or hand-held gaming. (I've got huge hands! 😆) As for Mario Kart -- I OWN that game on the Super Nintendo (given the amount of years I've played) with the exception of Rainbow Road. Oh my gosh -- I can NOT stay on that road! 😆

Steam has CatTails on sale pretty regularly, so if you're interested, but it on a wish list there and you get notified of when it is on sale. I just finally caved and bought it last month and I'm SO glad I did!

I love to hear/read random facts! I have a terrible memory for those sort of things, but they stick in my husband's head, too. He can still quote verbatim facts from books he read as a child. I have a generally sharp memory, especially for visual things, but suffer terribly from a lack of ability to remember dates, which is a pretty hard burden for a history major!

I think it's more important to do things one enjoys during this stressful time that to be industrious. Better for our mental health in the long run! Have you done any more baking?

I agree completely. Mental health is not great right now, so we should all focus on things that bring us joy! I made some oatmeal cookies the other day. Going to make another loaf of whole wheat bread today.. and this week I'll be making a chocolate cake!

Mario Kart can be fun, in multiplayer. But without online or any others players, I moved on and play GRIP. Much more dizzying. Too bad Tetris is standard rules only, still play it.

Also, I can understand how the lack of tourism is hurting Israel, and a LOT of places around the world where that's their main source of income. Everything's really hard for everyone right now, and I think we're going to, as a society, figure out innovative ways to overcome all of this and keep our global citizens taken care of, or get them there in the first place.

As far as games go.. Subeta has been eating my soul. And then Pony Island (the pony simulator web game, not the horror computer game, lol), where I color for an adoptable there.. And another adoptable I follow is having their big event of the year, so those games are taking up my time... But if I sit down to play something, it tends to be League of Legends or Overwatch right now. Short matches, a couple in a row, just to get some of my pent up frustration out. :P
