Oh hey Rah thanks a ton for the update, and for getting on the queue today! Just what we needed. Hope staff stay safe and healthy. ❤️

Just curious if there is any updates on this + the potential pricing changes Keith mentioned in the discord? I completely understand if it's just a "Still being worked on!" but I thought I'd post since it's been two months since we've heard anything on this thread.

I just feel like I'm in limbo atm; between waiting for this update + the pricing ?? update + the wardrobe no longer working at all for me, I've completely stopped submitting things. :S I'd hate to submit something that ends up cheaper, or against the rules / etc.

- yes, it is still being worked on! is rewriting the rules and drawing up sample art as examples of what we're looking to avoid, but she's been swamped with her rl job since the pandemic started to the point that I've been taking over the queue so that any time she does have is dedicated to the rule rewrite.

It's slow but sure!

thank you for the response! Regarding the rule rewrite etc, is this still being considered?

Sorry for also pinging, but my Perfectly Balanced Noodle Bowl has been in queue for actual months now. I'm assuming it's going to stay there until Saint is finished writing the new guidelines.

Can we have an estimated time of completion? Will my noodle bowl stay in queue for however long it takes to finish the new guidelines (possibly several more months to a year? since Saint is busy)? Will I and other users who are monitoring this case and wanting the item have waited that long just to have them denied, because the new rules will specifically deny items of that type?

And I don't mean to come off as rude or pushy or ungrateful, I have utmost respect and appreciation for staff and the way our grievances are adressed. However, the way this is being handled is upsetting to say the least.

- I can either deny that item now until the rules are done, or keep it in there and accept once the rules are sorted - which would you prefer? (We really don't want to start accepting thing-heads until the rules are sorted)

I apologise for just keeping it there, it's kind of become my little mascot item now that I enjoy seeing first thing on doing the queue. It's dumb small pleasures and I didn't realise it had been so long since it's been there!

I would say deny it but if you actually enjoy seeing it it can stay in queue for the time being haha. That's cute. Thank you for the reply

I appreciate the work y'all are doing to keep the queue moving, and that you're trying to keep us updated as much as possible. My only concern is that, because it's clear Saint is already overwhelmed trying to take care of their main job (and it's absolutely 10000000% understandable that that's a priority), we're left here in a big kind of limbo. It's not my business and it's not my place to try and tell anyone how to run it, but it seems like it would make more sense for this responsibility to not all fall on one person's shoulders, especially as this is a secondary job for them (and probably for most/all of the paid staff).

I just wonder if it wouldn't be more effective for this to have more staff input, especially from senior art staff, so it's not something that has such an indefinite timeline. Like Feral, I have a lot of things to submit but I'm concerned about doing so now only to have the rules/pricing scheme changed a little way down the line. And also I too can rarely get the newest wardrobe to work again (I know Keith is working on that as well, but it's one more kink in the chain so to speak). I feel like it would be more beneficial if this wasn't down to just one person - because Saint had mentioned it being a lot on their shoulders even before the pandemic cropped up. And there's a lot of things that have been addressed beyond just CWs that are contributing (such as artists being forced to always include a site currency option) that I don't imagine would be up to Saint alone as it is - that's something that should be included in the rules update and rewrite but would/should also affect all artists on site (digital/writers/coders).

As Baku mentioned, Keith had brought up user input and discussion and I know there's a lot currently going on with the site errors and wardrobe issues, but it seems like the rewrites are going to go forward without any of that happening and that's a little disappointing. We'd all love to see the site get more stable and be better funded going forward, and I think some of these are issues that are hindering that and that could be discussed to potentially help the site.

Also I know none of this is really up to you but again, thank you for coming here to respond to user concerns and keep us as updated as possible on top of handling the queue and the art content for the site and still having to deal with the real world outside as well :)

- Oh it's a project that other people are helping with! Saint is just the lead on it. She's had input from the other art staff and UA staff too.

Something like art forum pricing is outside the scope of the CW rules rewrite, though. That's more of a site rules thing. As to the user input to submissions, it's still something we're looking at as it's something we think would be very useful! But as you say, our main focus is on getting the site more stable and better funded.

Thank you for voicing your concerns - happy to help where I can! (With too many exclamation points, I'm sure)

Ah okay good. I know there's already enough stress happening IRL and I was hoping that was the case to help reduce that.

And yeah, I figured that was something that would be a discussion outside of CW rules rewrite, but I wasn't sure how much it might affect adjustment to rules going forward if/when that discussion/change happens for site artists to the site rules. I know it's been brought up and bandied about a few times but without much traction and I know it's a touchy area but I definitely think in the long run it would help bring more money into the site to change/remove that requirement (I know several artists from various areas of art that would put more money into the site if they didn't have to already take it). I'll keep hoping that there will be a separate update there :)

There can never be too many exclamation points! I probably overuse them too but like...nothing wrong with being excited to have an answer or something to say that makes everyone feel a little better ❤️

I'm glad there's work in progress to better clarify CW rules/expectations and hope it gets done sometime this year. I wanted to try submitting my own CWs, but even after reading all the pinned topics and seeing others' shops, I'm still very confused about the process.

I found the submission page opaque and honestly intimidating, but I thought I would seem dumb for posting questions when it seems like everyone else has been participating for a while and already knows the process. It made me think maybe I was stupid and missing really obvious information. Seeing this thread gave me some hope that maybe it's not my fault after all (LOL).

This board is coming up very quickly on 6 months. I hate to be a bother, but it's really been weighing on my mind lately and causing me a bit of stress.

Would any of you be able to provide an update on any of the following:

  1. CW rule overhaul
  2. CW pricing updates 3 Anything else?

This is mostly just an anxious potato rambling. Like everyone else who's seen these bits of news, I've been trying to wait patiently of what is to come with it. For me however, it's put a complete halt on everything I normally do on Subeta. I want to make sure I'm producing artwork that can safely pass through the queue without having to stress that people get it submitted within an invisible deadline in case things change. I also have no idea if any of these changes could potentially be damaging or breaking for me, and force me to move on past this community. I've been optimistic that these changes might happen soon, but now I'm starting to worry that we won't see anything new this year, and this really damages the personal community I've built around my art, because I feel the need to wait for these things to be finished, that way I can provide the best things to not only people who are buying my art to submit themselves, but also users who are slotting on my releases. I cannot in good faith submit things with the worry that they could be cheaper later, and that I could have held out just a little longer so that people who wanted those items could save even just a little bit of money. At this point I'm sure I sound like the rambling of a crazy person, and perhaps I am... but I'm losing interest in continuing in the CW community at the rate this is going. I went from seeing 30+ of my items submitted a month (by either me, or commissioners) to 0. =/ and I'm.... really concerned and I am hoping we can get more than a simple "just working on it" this time.

And just because I know this will be taken out of context by others, yes I do realize there are other things that need work, or are probably a higher priority. It doesn't change my concern for it though, and I'd rather be told "This isn't a priority." than just wait in silence like we have been.

is no longer staff (no bad reasons! Her second job became a priority due to Covid) and so the rule rewrite is a little on hold at the moment. It's been partially completed, Saint had been working hard on it but I believe we're now talking with prominent CW makers in order to get it finished and figure out the best way forward with it.

That's incredibly unfortunate that we've lost as staff, but a totally understandable reason.

I'm really not sure how I feel about the update you're giving... On one hand, that's a wonderful opportunity for the people in the community but also...

This isn't even the first time people have asked for rule clarification, it's simply the first time that we've pressed even after receiving mild threats that we're going to 'regret it' and now, who knows where this is at, and how long this could possibly take? I'm also very concerned, because a previous staff member (I won't name them, don't want to target) told me (when I asked if I could help build a 'denial guide') that non-staff members could basically not be trusted to 'know what staff wanted' from CW makers. Has this somehow changed...? I was under the impression the new council was just helping with opinions, not creating an entire new set of rules. That's incredibly massive and I feel nervous that only special, selected users might get a say in this new rule set (obviously approved by staff, but with... little input from only a few people...?) I'm just... really at a loss. This is incredibly disheartening news... =/ I... feel even less certain about my future with this community now.

Does this mean the council is finalized and those of us without responses can stop hoping for one?

Honestly the market is dying faster than ever now knowing prices will be lowered but not when. I’m scared by the time changes finally happen it’ll be too late, and I know I’m not the only one. MANY people have slowed submissions drastically.
