yes, they do :D Most items here (all between Centropolis Urban Legendary Track and Molten Summoning Tome) give a CSC challenger.

is there attainable dark and light blocker for the financially challenged players?

yes sorta.

Dark Goddess Rod you get from an ahievement when you get a pet to 22000 stats.

Maniacal Essence you get the parts to make from a jelly invasion and doing enough damage to the boss.

until you can get these free you an probably find someone to borrow from for killing opponents. you may need to offer letting them hold onto something of yours of value as collateral.

they do, if your pet is a high enough tier. They're not really worth it though, shields in general don't help much because that's a turn you're not dealing damage, all they really do is prolong the fight. The god weapons do a lot of damage on top of blocking icons, it's why they're so expensive.

The best budget option for a light block is probably Hydragellos Lost Tooth, or the Lucent (Broken) from the Impossible section in the Battle Shop.

For dark, probably Gelatin Slayer, maybe Fatal Fire scrolls but against most opponents you're better off with freezing scrolls.

ah that is what i was afraid of. i mean on one hand they do block excellently but on the other hand that's all they do.

Oh, and I'm not sure about availability. I though they once planned to release some more often than just BF, but to my knowledge they only did so once, so I wouldn't rely on it. There are some that are always available as you might now, like Meatslab, Mutant Scientist and the Forj Matriarch.
