not sure what you mean by "glitchy" - you should be able to see what it will look like before confirming the upload - but i think that's something you'd need to file a ticket to resolve.
Like it doesn’t appear on most browsers and another one that has JPG to oblivion.
I would say take screencaps of the glitchy appearance in these other browsers and show that as evidence in a ticket. Because the feature requires CSC, you need to have the issue addressed via ticket to help compensate. i mean, it's not like you could have known your custom overlay would be affected by other browsers.

And yes file a ticket because this should have been easily detected in the first place.
The image is only viewable in chromium browsers. You have this problem because of Google pushing its own image format.
Here is your overlay as an actual png, not the proprietary Google webimage format. DO NOT USE CHROME TO SAVE THIS IMAGE. If you do you will have the exact same problem with it saving as their image format. Download Firefox or a chromium based browser that is not Chrome to save it.
Don't save the image using Chrome.
Don't save the image using Chrome.

Then open a ticket and explain the issue and see if they will refund and submit the actual png that you saved in another browser that is not Chrome. No Chrome. Full Stahp.
I'm on FF too, and I can see all her overlays. But yeah, the compression is strange. Unless the original overlay was saved as jpg by the artist who provided it? Though agreed, PNG is primarily for artwork. JPG should never be used for that.
Ohj yeah, I forgot about Google images being buttheads. I was gonna say, it couldn't be due to something like Photobucket since you upload directly from your computer files.

It doesn’t always allow you to save as the original format, and changing the extension won’t force it to save whatever it originally was. That’s one of the reasons I switched from Chrome to Vivaldi a few years back. You can get a browser addon to restore the functionality, but otherwise you may have surprise .webp that no one else can see.
Google does what is good for Google. Anyone else is a datapoint.
I hope I am coherent, I cannot brain right now. No Chrome. Webp bad.
Nah, i get what ya mean. no worries. FF for life.

Is there a way to check for the .webp addition to an extension? I've used Chrome exclusively for years and have never had this problem (that I'm aware of) but now I want to see if maybe I've missed something.
Yeah i messed up with saving that one with chrome and uploading it on chorme on my mobile tablet.
They should have rejected it since when the original custom overlay is at 200 x 200 px it becomes heavily artifact but it could be due to imgur.
.webp will be the file extension unless you manually changed it. I guess either search your drive for .webp, or make extensions visible if you have them hidden, and sort by extension or file type in whatever folder you keep them in. You can probably then open them in Chrome, and using a browser addon, resave them as the right file format. I used something like Save As PNG, I think, to fix Ascolo’s overlay.
Also i have one ticket regarding this running but it’s been in a loop for a year now.
I dunno yet until we can identify which app was used to create the overlays, and where the original copy of the published image was saved. I'm not sure how imgur could have caused this, but perhaps through saving through the browser as suggested. But still, don't save your only copy on the cloud. Too often the image hosting sites poof and people lost their only work.
Wow, the ticket's still ongoing? What's happening? O_o
Just resized it with the 500 by 500 px version and it’s no longer JPG’D!
Am going to make another ticket asking if i can reupload a heavily jpg custom overlay.
Fortunately it doesn't seem like it's ever been a problem for me. I have file extensions unhidden and I just did a search for webp, which came up with nothing. But then thanks to sites like Subeta, I know more about how to get what I really want from the web more than the average person, so it's possible I've run into this before and just found a workaround that I don't remember atm.
Maybe this is just a feature you could run into sometimes, or idk. I'll keep an eye out (thanks for the heads up!) but continue using Chrome because it is useful to me for other reasons (such as sync).
I've found that tickets have gone to shit as of late, or rather nobody remembers to actually get back to the tickets that are open and address them. i had an issue with my account that took forever to resolve, and it was simple as verifying my account in order for a fix to be made.
I was locked out of many site functions like my item vault and such because of this glitch I encountered, so I was really displeased that it took forever for a solution to be given. Does not surprise me to hear that OP hasn't had much help in her ticket.
i understand staff are strapped for team members, but it is absolutely deplorable to leave users waiting for solutions for as long as a year. That shit is what you see on Neopets, never here on Subeta.

That sound promising :) Just make sure it's not having compression artifacts, and that it scales smoothly. It's best to save (in an editor capable of saving png correctly) a 200x200 copy to your local machine and preview the image before you upload it.
Seems like it's been quieter than usual this month with the problems and bugs section, and with tickets that need programming help. That's unfortunate when the unsolved problems are causing more users to file tickets and being put on hold D:
It was a real shock in my experience, because tickets I've ever sent are typically assigned and resolved in short time. So it's really been noticeable with how long it takes to get even something simple dealt with. not a good sign when customer service like that takes a hit.
