Ohh, I didn't realize people were expecting this to be an "event" so I thought you were just talking about the random event you get from a challenger, sorry!

Subeta really needs to give us an actual plot already. Everyone is so desperate for another one we're seeing plots in everything staff posts X'D

The last sort of plot we had was like in Morostide 2018 I think, right? It was the continuation of the Jaxon and Ian thing.

I would definitely like to see more plots and other events like that, but I know there's a lot of other stuff going on and being worked on so IDK when we'll get one. :c

We're probably overdue for some sort of Survival-related plot, and we also still have the thing with Gunter from a couple years ago that could use a continuation. I'm not sure if anything like that will happen this year or not though.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see the site working better again before any sort of complex event gets rolled out, but I have also heard a lot of grumbling from users getting bored so hopefully that can happen soon.

I would love to see the Gunter story get wrapped up during this Survival. I'm not at all happy about where it's headed (he was one of my favorite NPCs, ugh) but lacking a conclusion makes it even worse.

I think that a plot it a it will take a long time! Neither a snowpault they put on the site, so yes..! You can imagine..

I know we're also still waiting for the Teahouse and gardens updates and things like that from nearly 3 years ago now as well. :c

I know it's a lot of work with a small team, but hopefully once more of the site issues get fixed we can get back to some more things like that.

But until then, some new lore associated with the monthly challengers is better than nothing ~

Yep, I totally agree. New lore is always appreciated. I'm actually pretty content with just doing my dailies and quests in between the regular annual events. And luckily for me the teahouse isn't really a thing that I personally care about...but I know that and all the other perpetually "coming soon™" promises are a source of dissatisfaction for a lot of users. This isn't really the proper thread for this discussion but I'll just say that I wish the userbase as a whole was happier and more engaged right now; the dwindling user-online count is concerning.

In any case, I look forward to whatever will come of Blake's new adventures with the Legendary Beasts of Subeta! I feel like I missed something (were "Legendary Beasts" ever a thing before?) but I'm excited about it lol

Yeah, I hope they don't try to do a big plot or anything until things are working a bit more smoothly. Only one more week for them to bring Hoarfrost back :( I'm not holding my breath.

I think by that they mean like the Sewer Beast ended up becoming the basis for the Qrykee pet we have now, and the Sewer Beast was originally part of the Cash Shop challenger set when they were doing kind of urban legends from the various Subeta lands. So I think that's where the idea is coming from, that there may be other creatures out there that are regarded as legends but they're actually just like offshoots of other pet species that have evolved differently in the wild or something.

Some people in the news comments mentioned it would be cool to have the possibility of a legendary pet species that we as users could own, like a special species or special pet color, which would be kind of cool if that happens. But I'm not sure about that part, nothing has been confirmed by staff yet obviously.

They might be able to bring him out later if they remember. Just because he's usually around in January doesn't mean he would have to be, it's technically still winter until March.

- True, still not holding my breath though. Maybe he'll be released when they open up the snowtapult. Having him around for all of the winter season would be nice.

This Blake thing isn't going to a plot or anything. would actually murder me if I spill all the beans, but it'll be a cute little thing. Y'all will get to fight. There will be lore. :)

Oh, that makes sense! I didn't even know/remember that was the origin of the Qrykee but that's pretty cool. Whether we get more pet origin stories or new pets and/or colors, that's very exciting! I'm hoping for a baby Menecuda pet lol (Aw, cute! And look, I just noticed the news post actually uses the phrase "legendary beast"...neat!)

Yeah! That was from the same set as the Sewer Beast, it was all of the 2017 challengers when they did that theme.

I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but I'm excited about it because it seems fun and interesting so far. :)

Well that was a great series of challengers so this should be an awesome year for battling (and maybe even new pets if we're lucky)!

I don't want to get my hopes up, but it'd be nice if this were to result in a new pet colour, particularly that ancient/prehistoric pet colour suggestion. That would be really cool. Even still, it's a nice theme I'm looking forward to. Based on the clues in the loot drop, I'm guessing we're gonna get the ancestor of the Devonti or Bovyne?

Also sent a comment to Purge asking about Hoarfrost, maybe find out what's gonna happen. I don't know why they just don't have him available from Dec 1st to March 1st.

Bovyne seems pretty likely due to the mention of the bell in the description for the scouting gear, and the bell in the image for that item looks really similar to the bells that the regular Bovynes wear.

Also farming and cows and all that.

Good starting place, tbh. Cattle, at least irl to use for comparison, are only 10 thousand years domesticated, but even then, cattle that aren't accustomed to human touch can be very dangerous, both cows and bulls.

Yeah, and then factor in the idea that Subeta is a magic world, so who knows what kind of stuff a wild animal might run into that could make it into something even more intimidating than it would be normally.

It's a really fun idea for the theme, and it would be extra cool if we get something special to do with our own pets out of it too (but of course this part remains to be seen). The lore aspects are promising though!
