My friend, who HATES pets, just got a puppy (newborn, no teeth) for her daughter. Parents in the midst of divorce and everyone at each other's throats and they get a PUPPY???? Out here we say GEVALT! (roughly: oh no!!!) I love having the baby (kittens) in the house. We have nursed MANY baby kittens here. Once when our momma cat Koshka (before my allergies kicked in) had 5 she took on another abandoned 4 but we needed to supplement so everyone went on night rotation to take 3 to bottle feed. Good times!

Ooooo! Not the best timing! Assuming the kid will stay with mom, maybe mom will be like my friend's mom. She didn't like animals, but after that cat, she learned to.

I have a question, anyone yet using their A/C? It's still cool enough in my house to not need it yet, but the infernal times are approaching. My mother is the kind to have it on 24 hours throughout the summer.

We are. We keep our house at around 70 during the summer.

We have the fan on to sleep at night. Weird because last week we had the heat on.

TERRIBLE timing! Once a fella brought her a dog for her birthday (years ago) he asked her what she was going to name him and she said "Leaving". We still tell that story around here! Her daughter has been acting really bad, suddenly is nice again. I worry, because that is temporary. I keep asking what she will do when she moves, but she ignores the question. I guess she is just living one day at a time at this point.

Sometimes one day is all you can handle. :(

Indeed. 70 is nice. Ours gets much hotter. I like heat. Good thing I live in a desert.

I do NOT like heat. And we have humidity in addition. Nooooo.

We don't have air conditioning where I live (it's not as common here in Germany as it is in the States).. It's only been in the 70s out here, so not too bad so far, but I am dreading June/July/August when we're in the 90s. You can only get so naked before you're down to your skin and you can't take that off to get any cooler!

Same. Give me the cold any day. Hot drinks, blankets, fuzzy socks, whatever. I can bury myself alive in layers. But in the heat, I can only get so naked!! :P

I feel so bad for everyone having birthdays in quarantine right now. I can only imagine how rough it is. My sister's birthday is the 6th, two of my friends are the 5th and 7th, so.. :P I've been telling everyone to do watch parties on Discord; get your pals, your drinks, favorite snacks, get together, watch a movie or something with everyone. Paint your nails, wear your fun jammies together, etc. it's not the same as going out, but at least it's time together, you know? I hope you still have a good birthday!

i’ve been the same with ppl! like “aw man i hope you still have a good birthday!” but now may is almost here and i didn’t even realize XD i def love the sleepover idea, that’s so cute! we can all do face masks while i force everyone to watch a horror movie, bwa ha ha! thank u! if anything there’s always next year, so i’m not stressed :p

I actually look forward to days of 100F/40C. Only then am I comfortable going outside, to escape the seemingly frigid indoors. Its like that everywhere, freezing despite the heat.

Nice, mine is a few days before, on the 10th. But I prefer to observe them in Vioran years. The last was Oct 16, 2018, and the next is on Feb 17 2026. It'll never be on the same day.

Oh, not too bad ! I... didn't wake up until almost 4pm again. XD

It's only 1:15 am, but I'm actually tired so maybe I'll get regular hours of sleep tonight and be functioning on normal people time tomorrow! Didn't get everything done that I wanted to today, but such is life. I have time tomorrow. :) What about you??
