I was hoping to get my pet back today, but is seems like it's not happening just yet haha.

Yesterday I tossed in a Blob Kitty and received a Rift Blob Kitty in return.

Today I tossed in a Demented Bloodred Torrey Plushie and got back Mariachi Ankle Boots. Nice retired item for sure! :)

If the rift has an NPC account, does that mean it might be sentient? I know it's most likely for practical reasons to hold all the pets that got sent there, but the idea of it being a living being is both scary and exciting.

I threw in a hoping to get the new pie food- but got a back instead. Still not a bad return, though! :) and heart plushie also shares the p, i, e, s, h from the piefish. Not sure if that means anything or not, as it isn't a straight 'pie' to 'pie' transfer, etc.

That's pretty much what I was thinking as well. Although I got the rift-touched eggs by tossing in a Rictus Teeth, so it seems like there's still some randomness there.

Like maybe you have a chance to get any item from the rift randomly. But then certain items like the rift-touched items have things that you can throw in to get one of those items guaranteed (like blob kitty for rift blob kitty, coffee for rift coffee, a regular bunny plushie for the rift one).

Some of us were guessing it might be 24 hours, which would be around 1:00pm Subeta time today if you threw your pet in not long after the news post came up.

If not then I don't know how long it would be, but they should come back to us at some point. I haven't seen or heard anything new yet though, and looking up my pet he remains unchanged so far.

[edit]You know what else I thought of, it makes sense that the random items people are getting back seem to all be retired items. Because it's a rift through space and time... lol. And in the 2013 plot we actually used it to go back in time. So it's probably grabbing all these items from the past when they were regularly restocking items or something.

I reckon throwing your pet into the rift will turn it into a new rift colour.

I'm not sure if anyone else shares this theory since I haven't read all 10+ previous pages haha

I got myself some rift coffee this morning. I might end up needing to just visit for an entire year before I have enough of the items and everything I need that is rifty. I love(am obsessed with) The Rift!
