I'm glad this topic was made. I hadn't said anything because it's a minor annoyance for me, yet still annoying: On the battle page, the navigation bar is too spacious (in height) enough to make the BATTLE/END BATTLE button be below the point of my computer, which means I have to scroll. That's 30 scrolls per day I have to do, and while it looks/sounds silly, not having to scroll before was a bliss.
Removing the navigation bar while in battle would be amazing, and I approve of that suggestion! Though I'd settle for it to be in reduced height.
[edit] OOOOH I see this has been implemented, and it makes the whole difference in the world, thank you!
I dig the new post-training landing page that lets you easily set up the next session for that particular pet. I love QoL improvements!
Whereas I'm not a fan of the new post-training page. Not only do I find it confusing, but it doesn't always work for immediately being able just click train. I've found a few times if I just click to train it tells me I can't do that stat anymore because it's too high instead of making it unavailable. It usually works, but not always, and that's not quality of life.
Totally agree, def not a fan at all, wish it would be as it was, at least it worked and not so conffuzzling :/
Huh. Sounds like there's a few bugs, and there's a thread about it in the problems&bugs forum.
Overall, I like the improvements. Both for training and for the battle navbar. It's much easier, especially on mobile, and it's still possible to quickly click and add a bunch of pets into training on desktop. Plus, the site remembers which pet you were taking in/out of training when you go back to the training center page. Same thing when you get an event for a pet being done with training. So if you were in the middle of the page, training a pet, you get autoscrolled down once the page finishes loading. Navbar is cleaner and doesn't stick out as much as it previously did.
I feel like it could still do with a few tiny cosmetic tweaks, but my brain is slush and words are hard so I can't really pinpoint what's bugging me right now. :c
I agree also with solticesprite. I don't need all that battle nav crap in the top, I have a tab for battling on the side. It just pushes the page down. And I also don't like the way the training page is working now, because I train all my pets and when it goes back from taking a pet out of training or putting some back in it goes way down to the bottom of the screen. I wish there was a way we could choose to have it go back to the old way of training. This is a nuisance and annoying. I usually put more than 1 pet back in training at a time by clicking the train button for 2 up to 4 pets. So the training option that comes up for 1 pet is useless and I just have to go back to the training page again. Nuisance when you're training more than 1 pet.

Love that the training link takes you to the right pet! But definitely a problem with choosing the correct stat to train on the single pet page.

More feedback since I just saw the new changes to the training center:
I personally find the new page unnecessary because I just used my back button to get through things faster, but I don't hate it in theory. However, I really wish it had the same formatting as the rest of the TC. Displaying the same information in a different order and format is throwing me off.

Like I don't even care how everything's formatted, but I really want to see it match 100%.

The errors should be fixed now :) Remember if something is not working correctly, posting a bug report is the quickest way to make sure staff are aware and can fix it.
That said, I'm wondering if these changes were just a mistake overall? I can swallow my pride and revert them if so, and I definitely appreciate the honest feedback <3 I thought it would be useful to have it jump to the correct pet on the page (as it eliminates a ton of scrolling, especially coming from the alert link), and I thought being able to put your pet in for another session right away would also be convenient since it saves you having to load an extra page. At the time, I saw these things as small, positive QoL changes and I didn't foresee the downsides. Should I just revert it? :S
(Same for the navigation bar - I can just remove it from the training page again - it sounds like it might be hurting more than it helps anyone lol.)

Now that it takes you back to the same location you were working on and the Event link takes you there, a lot of scrolling is erased. I like this enough that I'm willing to ignore the Nav Bar because not only that it saves one of four page loads needed and over thirty pets this does add up. But did anyone ask for the Nav Bar, do they like it why is it there at all?
QFT what said in post 28. If it's gonna be there, then it should share the same formats and locations. I honestly had no idea that it did tell what you pay and how long it took for two reasons. First, I just saw that cost and time before getting to this page, it's not gonna change much, second it's hidden here and never was available in the four page refresh version, and third if I'm on this page already I have already decided..
as someone who is only training ~three pets at the moment (and really only when i remember to put them in), i like the change to the page? the trio all have different training times, so it is nice to be able to put them in and be done with it right when their alert comes up. i'd like it to stick around, but i dunno if i'm in the minority with that.
same with the scroll -- i would've loved to have it scroll down when i was still putting a dozen lil babies into training!
I appreciate the work you do and wanting to make the site better. Yes, I personally prefer the old system, but that's probably just because it's what I'm used to. If the new one is kept, the only thing I ask is not to keep going back to the pet because I find it annoying to have to scroll back up when I'm done training to get back to the site menus. It's weird, but scrolling down I'm fine with but scrolling up is a little discombobulating. :)
I rather like the battle navigation at the top, as training has to do with/is a part of battling. It makes sense for that to be there & I'd think it'd be useful for newer users as well.
But, echoing what's been said, would it be possible to throw that battlenav into a div or something so that the people who do not want it could easily just set it to not display or edit it or whatever in their custom css? (and maybe Jim & his text block too? because that also seems to be disliked.)
Wait. It was.
/Get rid of battle navigation menu/
.battle-menu{display:none;}Now Jim just needs to get in a nicely named box and I could get rid of him too. haha.
Personally, if I need to see more pets on that page, I've already edited the site to trim it way down, I can hit f11, zoom out and, if I wanted to, I could just block my pet images. Oh, and I added whatever pets I want to train to the top of my pet list so there's less scrolling there too. I barely have to scroll as it is, but I'm also not training all ~50 of my pets.
I also LOVE the addition of the "would you like to put this pet into another training?" (or whatever it says) on the page after the pet gains a stat. I think that's super goddamn useful and was just so happy to see it added today when I trained. ❤️
Ooh I have an idea. What if I just made it an explicit, separate link, instead of the default option? Like...
Go back to Training Center Go back to Training Center (jump to pet)
(Or would that be too hard to hit the correct one on mobile? :x)
I am also looking at making some sort of preferences page to streamline things like auto-select (since right now the feature depends on your browser, and apparently doesn't work on some specific browsers), and this could be a preference that goes on it too :)

I love the new training page. i train all my pets and it is great to put them back in when they finish training.
Oh yeah, good point. Hadn't thought of that. I think having some sort of preference settings would be best then.

It would be great if we could just bypass all this by loading the training results in javascript so you never even leave/reload the training center. I don't know how feasible that is though, and it might turn this into a bigger project than you intended.

Yeah, the QoL stuff I've been doing now is not meant to be that large in scope I'm afraid.
Though it's funny you say that... for reasons that will become apparent... some day. ;) (And now I must hush before I accidentally say too much.)

I love all the work you do, and I'm glad you're working on the training but, but as someone who kind of clicks every button before the page loads to train my pets, the new page still needs.. some final touches..
When you finish training a pet, could there be a bigger gap between "Back to Training Centre" and the info about the pets?
Also... I remember when you streamlined the page to make more pets fit onto the page.. if possible it would be great to have even more pets fit on the page with less scrolling... perhaps would could just have the headshots of the pets instead of the whole image? Then we could perhaps fit more pets in.
