For tomorrow I'll be digging and transplanting some trees for my aunt. She lives in a dead zone, within sight of the border wall. But the job is more important, some extra cash is always helpful. My MAB documents are in progress, I hope to hear good news.

: I'm doing fairly well, though I got some sad news today that really wrecked me. One of my dear friends from school passed away. I know very little of the circumstances, so it's still kind of baffling. I'll be OK, but it makes you stop and think about the ones you love and your surroundings.

I heard something interesting about Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood, that Fred Rodgers had a motto..."Keep it deep and keep it simple." It got me to thinking today about the many different ways we attempt to clutter up out lives with stuff, noise and distractions rather then trying to find something beautiful, pure and worthy. I think of the people who have never gone out to watch the birds, or to take in some of the everyday beauty of their surroundings, like clouds, or grass, or even funny little vegetation that grows in the cracks of the sidewalk. The phrase, "Stop and smell the roses." fits in with this theme.

The loss of a friend makes you contemplative, not for the one you lost, but for the ones that are still with us. I'm going to do what I can to be more attentive to those things.

Thank you for asking how I was, it really made me stop and think about how I really was. I'm OK and I can do better.
