I only like turkey if it's well prepared. I want the skin left on and unless the cook is really super good at cooking turkey, I only want the dark meat.

Traditional Thanksgiving sucks for me because I can't eat any gluten so I have to be very careful not to eat anything that has touched gluten, meaning that once everyone's put their utensils into food that didn't have gluten in it before, it's no longer safe for me to eat. Unless it's prepared with gluten free ingredients, I can't eat pie, stuffing or anything else that has flour or bread crumbs or breading in or on it. Or has been touched by utensils that have previously touched those foods. If people invite me over, I'm like, okay, but you may not actually want me to come, because I am only able to eat if I get first crack at everything that's not pre-glutened. And I can't eat anything made with butter or mayo that people have used to butter their bread previously, because if I eat one lousy bread crumb, projectile vomiting ensues.

I can't even kiss people who might have bread crumbs in their mouth.

I have adult-diagnosed celiac disease with gluten ataxia so I'm very reactive, unlike people who were diagnosed as children, never ate gluten on a daily basis, and therefore don't produce a huge storm of antibodies. They can cheat. I can't. Their bodies go, "what's this, I don't think we like it," and produce a few antibodies which may or may not bother them much unless they start to do it over time...my immune system goes to war, screaming, "OH NO NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN!!!"

Don't ask me how I know the Macarons at the Hello Kitty Cafe aren't really gluten free. Just note that I have mad being sick in lolita brand clothes without ruining dresses skills, but I don't want to develop them further.

Valiska I agree! I cleaned three of my tanks today, since the baby tank is basically brand new. Changed out all the carbons (including in mum's tank) but I'll clean her tank tomorrow. I'm too tired now. I put both the family tree and my tree up as well and hoovered the floors. I think I'm done haha

oh dear! I'm so sorry. thoughts & prayers etc. :) can you make sure she eats things like bananas and watermelon? Dietary potassium is very important as you get older.

-giggles- You both mentioned bananas. Well yes she actually has a lot of bananas. Problem is she doesn't store iron well and has infusions for that every 4 months or so. And it is correlated to potassium. They slowly add some in an iv. I had to have it once when I was severely dehydrated as a teen. Doc told me they have to do it very carefully and with heart monitors because it's actually the same thing they give death row people to kill them. How odd that I wasn't comforted by that LOL. But Mum's er doc said it is also possible that her medications have lowered her potassium so they're doing a bunch of things right now.

Sheesh, what a thing to tell you in the heat of the moment! Although you know, Botox fixes a number of medical problems but is actually deadly botulism toxin at full strength. A lot of drugs are capable of killing you because...if they're capable of fixing important systems that have gone off kilter, they'll poison a healthy person.

I know right lol. It's true lots of things can kill you. Apparently its high potassium she has right now. So they are getting it out with meassures that my dad doesn't sound clear on. lol.
