Sorry for late replies. :) Mum and I was invited on a boat trip yesterday- so I was gone for the most part. We were on an old sailboat that actually belongs to a museum. :) We had scrimps and crab and whanot. Was really nice, but was rather knackered when I got home. lol

Raven: What you mean I love to talk about games and stuff? :P Well, I can give you the highlights I suppose. They had a long Luigis Mansion 3 trailer- looks like it will be fun! They showed more of the Links awakening remake!- and I cant wait! Plus- a small teaser for a BoTW sequel! :O That will take a while tho- still in early stages obviously. :) Some animal crossing. the witcher 3 will be coming to the switch. Resident Ebil 5 and 6. and some smaller stuff. :)

Ambition: I feel ya on that. I always have to use google whenever I have to post temperatures in fahrenheit. lol

Haha. :) I really want to visit the US tho.. so many awesome places to see. :) My cousin (that grew up here) lives in Texas, and she loves it. Would never consider moving back I think. :)

WOW - that is so cool! I love the new deck and the matching flower pots - they look SO good and amazing!! :d That wood looks so pretty too, in hue. I love that deep rich color for wood! Is it real wood or some sort of false-wood so that it looks like real wood? It sounds like you have an extraordinary day! I am glad you got to do something so fun and cool! :D hugs I always do the conversions as well! There are only a few I know by heart and can do without checking. :)

[edit] I was able to get a lot of sewing done today, and have got that coat almost nearly finished :D

I did have a photo showing the rainbow zipper, but the camera flash meant the colours aren't visible - I'll get a better photo in daylight tomorrow hopefully ;)

That just leaves some topstitching and the anorak snaps to go :d Ironically, the coat is a lot heavier than I'd expected it to be, so it won't be able to be worn until the autumn at the earliest :P But maybe that's an excuse to find some lighter weight fabric to make a more summery coat 😇

OMGOSH that lining is perfect. I wish I had a jacket like that. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Nobody makes cool lined jackets like that these days. Also that jacket looks so good!

thank you! :D I was trying to avoid needing a lining, but I couldn't work out how the pattern would go together without it 😊 so I figured fox polycotton would be the best choice laughs :D There's several lengths of rainbow zippers (link) where I found that one ;) They also stock them with black tape rather than white, but I bought the white ones ;)

That's a neat bee outfit today :D :D Thanks :D Mum's actually been eyeing up the jacket (she tried it on before I'd finished it), so it might end up being her birthday present laughs So I'd definitely then have an excuse to at least get some more lining fabric to make myself a coat (I've got some denim-blue coloured softshell that was meant to be for a totally different coat.... but that other coat pattern is a lot more fitted on the arms, so I think I'd be better off sticking with this pattern instead as it's more of a boxy shape ;))

Well she tried the coat on again this morning, I asked if she would like it as a birthday present (given that when she tried it on yesterday before it was almost finished, she said to Dad "look what Paddy made me for my birthday"), and she said "no thank you, I already have a coat" o.O So bang goes that idea.... but I guess at least it gives me a coat :P

Yeah, to say the least! I didn't go with the charging station idea in the end, as I couldn't find a way of attaching it to the wall (pretty sure she wouldn't be happy with it hanging from the plug, given the odd plug style her charger has). I have asked her if she'd wear a homemade baseball cap, and she seemed quite open to the idea so I've got some floral fat quarters that'll hopefully work for that.... but that's the sum total of my ideas, other than a couple of shower gels.

Dad's going to get IOU presents for Father's Day, seeing as I couldn't find where I stashed his shirt pattern 😊 but I might see if I can get the baseball cap started for him today at least ;)

bummer. but a cap is a start. How about a plant?

I actually got Dad's baseball cap made while they were out shopping this morning laughs I got him to try it on with his eyes shut, so he couldn't see what it looked like before tomorrow (he'd asked for a new hat to wear to the car show, and he picked the fabric on Wednesday :P)

I think I only know a few because in science class we all had to use it so for many years I was constantly using the metric system. It is a little bit annoying how in baking you use the imperial system but in science you use metric. :P So I have both in my head but not for all things. shrug My dad also does wood working things and built me a garden box as well. I do think it is very cool to have someone around who knows how to utilize different tools and can actually do carpentry. I think it is a dying art.

it's a pity the coat pattern I used doesn't show the zip (there's a flap over it, to stop the rain being able to get through), but I've got another one to save up for a jacket that does have the zip visible ;)

Yes, it is perfect that she hurt herself! c: I think all that matters is that you know there is a rainbow zip in there. :D I mean I do that all the time with clothing/special touches/etc that only I know is there. It still makes me happy. ^^

I couldn't find any way of making it look like she was good at gymnastics ;) That's very true - like fancy jackets I've seen on shops online, where they have floral binding on the inside seams .... nobody else will see it, but you know it's there ;)
