it works brilliantly :D I haven't managed to make the crown look right yet, but maybe that's just my characters really not liking hearts that much right now laughs Thanks :D I decided to have a day off from sewing the jeans (I've got the thread, but there's not as much opportunity for interruption-free sewing on a Saturday), so I played around with a new pattern that I got this week & started making myself a baseball cap :D

I know the stitching isn't perfect (you can't iron softshell, so I had to stitch the seam allowance down, then sew over it), and it's not finished yet as I forgot it needs a metal loop thing at the back for the velcro to pass through. But for a first attempt, it came out really well so far :D Strictly speaking, I got the pattern so I could make Dad a few baseball caps, but it's only fair to do a test run for me, right? 😇

OH MY GOSH that cap is so amazing and so cool!!!! I love it so much!!!! You did an amazing job!!! I am sure your dad will love the baseball caps! I can't believe you made this!

Thanks!! :D :D I thought it was time I got a new cap (I wear them every time I go out, so most of mine are looking a little tired now laughs), but I couldn't resist making it from that fox softshell :D I cheated with the brim, and added two thin layers of vinyl to stiffen it (I didn't want to have to wait until I could get whatever was recommended in the pattern) :P The pattern's meant to be made from twill or denim, with a leather / faux leather peak, but I had to be different 😇

Yes, it really is amazing!!! I should wear hats more but I never do. I love that you added the vinyl to stiffen it though that is excellently clever! I love how you made it your own with your cute cute fox pattern fabric! You'll be the cutest fox-covered person in town!

Yeah, its hard for taller girls and shorter- or if you are heavier like me. Its great to be able to do your own alterations on stuff! :D Wish I had the skills and the patience for that. :) I dont even own a sewing machine, as I am pretty sure it would collect dust. lol I Aww, hanging out with your nephews and nieces sounds great! What did you bake? :) I have 6 nieces and nephews.. being an auntie is the best. :)

I think you probably could get away with shopping at the teen section in stores then. :nods: I would probably been at your height or maybe shorter- if it wasnt for the growth hormones I took growing up. I have a condition that caused my body to not produce enough growth hormone and other hormones.

Those kinda mishaps happens to all of us. :) Annoying when its an expensive piece of fabric tho. Glad it worked out in the end. :D

I watched a nintendo presentation and guess what they announced for the switch this year. Get this: Links awakening remake! :O :O :O I squealed at my phone! rofl. I never played the originial. been saving it.. since I am gonna be so sad the day I have no new zelda games to play. So pre-ordering the hell out of this one. It looked gorgeous in the trailer with the updated graphics.

I baked several types of cookies, banana bread, chocolate chip double chocolate muffin-bread (like breakfast muffins only in loaf form), and rainbow frosting to decorate on top of cupcakes my sister made. It was a lot and a lot of fun to make! My mom made a peanut butter marshmallow bar that is to die for so good!!! I agree being an auntie really is the best! <3 Do you live close to yours?

it's the only way I can blot out sunlight / shop lights (or car headlights if I keep my head down), so I can be outside without them being a worry ;) hehe I probably wouldn't wear the hat and jacket at the same time though - that might be a bit too much on the foxiness :P watches the new items fly into the Item Directory :D

only if the teen sizes are designed for erm larger thighs laughs I could probably get into teen wear trousers if it wasn't for that (blame that on 10 years of dance lessons from the age of 7 :P) ;) nods it's part of the reason I have that wariness of cutting into pricey fabric 😊

nods although usually if you sew the seam wrong, it's easier to unpick than it is to frog knitting or crochet :P

Yes, we (I) usually go a little overboard when it comes to holiday baking! lol That is the sweetest and cutest thing that she asked you to be her auntie since she loved you so much! I love that! I'm all a huge believe of love making the relationship not blood (being related) anyways. hugs I do live really close to most of my siblings and their families. It's nice to be able to have pretty big family get togethers. Most of us get along well too, which is a huge bonus. Only one sister really has a problem with everyone and we just try to make things nice so she won't flip out (but it usually happens anyways lol).

I agree that it would solve the problem of a detachable hood to pair them together. Right now I have one warm coat that has a hood attached but I want to remove it. So we'll see if I can get that accomplished or not. I have changed my HA about 3 times in a day. LOL Thanks for the compliment!

I love the new(er) one with the cutout bricks in the background too :D What's the jacket you've used for that one? I never used to use hoods on coats, but since I grew my hair longer, I realised it saved the hassle of drying my hair when I got in, if I'd been out in the rain :P But my hair's shorter now (almost shoulder length, so it needs cutting again), so there's not the same thing with needing to spend so long drying it ;)

yeah and black backgrounds would be problematic too.

sometimes the darker backgrounds are helpful to blot out the strands of fur that aren't covered by her hair though :P
