We could do a scene if you wanted lol. haha thats not helpful :P
I'll see if I can get Niamh to be a little more vocal - she's been annoyingly quiet since the Wizarding term ended :P
....and speaking of Wizarding, have you heard anything on when the new term is likely to start?

Thats weird. I didnt get pinged from you either this time. o_O I did for Paddys reply tho. Its def. tempting.. but they are a lot of work. lol
I would love to see a pic of the finished product. :D
Thanks, I am feeling a bit better today thankfully. :)

I re-pinged in my previous post - I think when there was that weird lag on the forums, no pings actually went through o.O
That's good that you're feeling better today squishes

bad Niamh :P nope. no one's said anything but I'm not an admin in the same way I used to be, My best guess is they are still looking for someone to be an admin and help with the school part. I'd've reminded everyone but not my call.
doooo eeeettt
that's pretty normal for Niamh though :P
That's a good point - I wonder if they'll get any offers for people wanting to be a group admin, or if nobody really wants the responsibility of that....
oooo that's a great HA today! :D :D

-giggles- :D its a lot of work/responsibility and pretty thankless. I mean one or two thank yous but thats about it. Takes up a lot of time too. Although they are hoping to lower the tasks needed... why thank you. I got the skirt and wanted to do a starry look :) I love Niamh's gardening look today :)
nods one term I found being a prefect was more time and work than I could put in, so I can imagine that being an admin is a million times more!
It looks perfect! :D
Thanks :D Niamh thought she'd better grow some flowers, to save spending out on cut flowers for Valentine's (much cheaper that way :P). She hasn't yet thought of selling the cut flowers herself though, so she obviously doesn't have Blade's interest (and skill) in earning money ;)
[edit] I got the foxy jacket finished! :D :D :D
No modelled photos yet (need the weather to be warmer, or at least a room to be tidy enough to find a spot for a photo indoors :P), but here's the jacket on a hanger so you can see what it looks like:

I did fudge the neckline compared to what the pattern specified, but I wanted to add a 'tag' (some ribbon I had as a free gift a year or so ago) to the back facing, and it wouldn't work if I followed the pattern instructions :P

At the moment the buttons are sewn on by hand (they're curved at the back, so they didn't sit neatly under my sewing machine foot :K) and I had to give in and do poppers for the cuffs (the cuff was too bulky for my buttonhole foot - it kept thinking the bulk of fabric was the end of the buttonhole o.O), but it's wearable and that's what counts :D
They didn't have any more fabric like that when I went to town yesterday, but I did manage to get the last bit of navy waterproof fabric they had - that's stashed in the cupboard to eventually be a new coat (link) for next autumn laughs

HOLY CABOOSES THAT IS AMAZING. I am in love with the style and shirt pattern-foxes- it's amazing! Wow! I am serious, that is amazing. You did such an excellent job. Also that coat you sent the link for is a really amazing coat pattern, I just can't wear them due to the high temperatures here.
BTW I do totally layer up on clothing in my house. I am wearing two sweatshirts, a micro-fleece top, and a regular shirt over that top. I also wear two layers (or three) of warm pants because 60F is too cold for me too! lol.
I am so jealous that you've been to so many cool European countries (though you do live on that part of the world so it makes sense). I hope you can make an epic road trip of the US when you come to visit one day! I tend to have all 4 seasons though the fall season is usually belated and short. We get a really re ally vibrant and kind of long-ish spring to balance out with it though, so that is nice. I love the spring wildflowers. Right now all the wildflowers are blooming and or about to bloom and it's lovely to see the carpets of color as I drive by green hillsides.
I've got a migraine right now, but outside of that things are good. I did some gardening today after it finished raining though, so that was good. One of my apple trees had died and so I needed to remove it and plant a new one. I hope it survives. crosses fingers

I really really extremely want:Mhm, prefect is hard enough sometimes. hehe Maybe she can start a flower business with Blade LOL flowers with devils snare. that jacket looks amazing!
thanks :D :D :D :D :D :D If you get low enough temperatures to need to wear a lightweight coat, some people have actually made a coat from the pattern I linked, and used a sheet for the fabric ;)
That's a lot more layering than I do laughs
ooo I love the browny gold with the blue in your outfit :D :D :D
*hands your HA some 'hunny' ;) That's a great outfit :D :D ROFL now that would be an interesting combination ;) Thanks :D :D I figured I need some more practise at sewing with that fabric before I tackle K's present for Christmas (that'll hopefully be a showerproof jacket), but that means either doing the coat I linked in my previous post, or an anorak (which looks even more complicated) 😊 .... I might just stick to the jeans for now laughs (and I need to get K's birthday present sorted by the middle of next month, but so far I've only got the idea of making a dinosaur shirt for him....)

I saw that some looked thinner than others. I just LOVE warm warm coats but they are only practice for about 60 days a year... LOL
I have to wear so many layers because it's frigid cold to me at 60 and my fingers start to feel like ice cubes that can not type/move to save my life! :P
I am still freaking out over how amazing that jacket is you made, and that cute fabric!
Thank you for the HA compliment! <3 Yours is so clever and cute - I love the story I can imagine behind the HA.
OMGOSH your HA is so perfectly themed! LOL!

I really really extremely want:ROFL I'd go crazy if it was only chilly for that little time in the year! 😊
Have you got any fingerless gloves you can wear to help keep your hands suitably warm? I bought a few pairs before I realised it was actually a lot cheaper to make them (and found a free pattern (link) I could use - that works well in jersey as well as fleece fabric :D) ;)
:D I've got just enough fabric left over to hopefully make a hood to go with the jacket (that'll be a mash of two different patterns, seeing as the jacket doesn't have a collar), but if that doesn't work out, it's still a perfectly wearable waterproof jacket :D The sales assistant couldn't believe how quickly they sold out of their waterproof fabrics, but apparently the owner was going shopping today, so maybe he'll have found some more laughs
Thanks :D Niamh is getting ready for Valentine's day, even though she's not expecting anything from Blade (apart from anything else, they've still not "officially" been on a date :P) ;)

I should get some fingerless gloves. I hadn't thought of wearing gloves while in the house, that's an excellent idea. OH I have extra fleece lying about I should make some, that pattern seems really simple/.doable for me! Thanks!
I hope they do get some more waterproof fabric in stock -- especially some of that color changing stuff you mentioned before. Did you manage to find any of that for yourself?
Well, blade should probably ask her out then.... :P Although I've heard that sometimes when couples first start dating around a holiday they don't really celebrate it in the usual way.

I really really extremely want:I only started using them when my hands got too cold while I was using the computer laughs but I also made some to wear when I go out, as I don't like my fingers being covered (makes it impossible to use my phone) - I need to make some really lightweight ones for the summer (my eczema means the back of my hands can split and bleed really easily, so I wear gloves all year round outside).
If you want to make it even easier, you can leave off the thumb part and just have the side seam going straight up to the end - that won't keep your thumbs as warm, but makes for a faster sew 😇
I did get a half metre of the colour changing one to make a bag out of, but not enough to make myself anything to wear 😊 but I'm going to keep my eye out for anything similar, now I know what that fabric's like to sew! ;)
laughs they're both as bad as each other for not being all that good at what to say for that, I think :P

teeeheeehee thank you. It worked too well for Scot since he LOVES honey. I tried to find a red shirt to go over the bear outfit but they end before the fur does haha.
wouldn't it? haha
good luck with the jackets :D Maybe doing one of those complicated ones would be easier one a little one?
thank you :D I like yours too. how'd you do dual spits in the background?
Thanks, I hope you get to explore Europe and other places you dream of. ^_^
That sounds great! I find that each season has its charm. Its lovely to see nature bloom again after a long winter, winter is cozy with staying indoors- candles blankets. Fall has the most amazing colours ^_^ The green hillsides with wildflowers sounds so pretty! :) Its still wintery here- and it will be until late March/April I suspect. :)
Is it horrible that I am thinking about asking Solveig to make me a pair for christmas or something? 😆
Sorry about the apple tree.. hope the new one stays healthy. Its neat being able to pick your own fruit. ^_^ My fav thing to grow has to strawberry. lol But apples are great for pies and cakes xD and jam. :)
Ah, that makes sense! Didnt know about the lag. I had issues loading boards before, but that seems to be better now. :)
The jacket looks awesome! :O You grown quite skilled at making clothes. :D Its neat seing what you gals are able to make! Loving the pattern for the coat too, a really flattering design. :)

lol nope :D I think it's a great idea Apple tree? o.0 I think this was for someone else. Ours aren't producing yet.
Thank you! ^^ I am using four items for my background. I think that is what you mean. The Triangle Stencil Sheet is easily one of my favorite cut-outs on site. I use it all the time. From top down:
Do you like sewing on the color changing fabric?
I thought of that idea too - sort of like a tube that way, my thumbs are usually ok in terms of temperature, usually it's my knuckles and finger tips. So hopefully this type of thing will help keep them warmer. <3
I bet it'd be nice to have a variety of cute gloves then for all occasions!
Yes, I hope the apple tree stays healthy this tie too. It was suffering from some sort of rot, it was annoying because it came that way from the nursery but we didn't realize it til it broke through the trunk about 3 months later. :(
Luckily we get a nice warm winter (comparatively speaking) so I love that. I hope you keep enjoying yours and getting to cozy up!

I really really extremely want:So glad you agree... pass the knitting forward. :P
Ooops. That was Ambition. o-o Not sure how I messed that up. lol I blame having spent the day with mum, grandma, auntie, my uncle and his kid and wife. They are a chatty bunch. lol
Aww, I hope they replaced it for free then! Annoying for sure when stuff like that happens. Y
I am for the most part, not been too cold for the most part. Just around freezing temp. Some snow, but not too much. :) So nice to snuggle up with my cat, knit/crochet and telly. :D
