Aww poor thing! I have a friend with bad pain as well, she's trying to get a proper diagnosis. She can't get out of bed some days and it takes two hours for her to dress. Pain is not fun.

My aunt is just like that :( she can't get out of bed most days cause of the pain DX

I am very grateful I am not that bad. Hopefully never will be. A medication I take does take the edge off.

Ah! Yes I know about slow PC's. Mine's only a year old but slow.

I'm all over there on books. I don't have a favorite genre, the book just has to be well written. Although there are some books that are just good and not really well written. Like - Girl On The Train - fairly well written but the plot just sucked me in. The ending seemed rushed and kind of goofy but overall the book was good. I really love epic books too like - Saigon: An Epic Novel of Vietnam and Pillars of The Earth. In general though - thrillers, suspense, mysteries, post-apocalyptic (loved The Road) biographies, historical novels -

Jan 30th ^^ so pretty soon lol trying not to think about it to much. Having friends down the weekend of the 26th and still gotta take all the Christmas stuff down and clean the house after that and the closet is a huge mess DX lol!!

You're always so busy!! But it will be fun having friends over for your birthday!! And I'm kind of surprised your Christmas stuff is still up as you're always so ahead of the game! :-) Mine took maybe an hour to put away. lol

OK, I think I get it. Just one question remains then:

Do you like, dislike, or not really care either way about secondary world fantasy? As in - if the setting of the book that is epic, well written, well characterized, post apocalyptic or thriller or mystery is not supposed to be our real world, but instead it is an imaginary world with made-up cultures and societies, is that better, worse, or doesn't matter? Because to me it's better - but not everyone has that reaction :D

I can definitely recommend more books of this type if you like secondary world fantasy - most of the good ones I have read along the lines you describe are - though not all. Or I can stick to recommending ones set on our Earth (though involving the world's response to some event(s) that didn't really happen, and in many cases can't really happen).
