I think 20-25 is the new 40. Companies everywhere don't want to pay benefits or insurance. I know you're qualified, so if the right job presents itself you'll get it!
Did ya have fun today?
I'm going to check out the other Alaska ones still. Thank you dear!
Yeah! It can take so much time some days. It's worth it, but I don't always have the motivation to spend a few hours getting my journal together.
It's not a big deal! I changed another pet to the name Oceanside, so I'm pretty OK with my pet names right now. I still want to change Avernales eventually but IDK to what. They were my first pet so I don't want to just chuck them or anything heh. Yeah, my birthday's on the 18th! My sister's birthday was today, too. Haha.
All the stuff I got was on deep discount so I couldn't pass it up :O
Lots of fun pretty tired now XD
-adds your name to bday list.- are you an Aquarius then? How did you celebrate the bday today? I feel ya on the original pet names mine are awful!!! Lol
I cleaned and cooked all and tired too!! :-P Adorable HA!!
hi! I'm doing great really. I want to
thanks! I'm glad it's interesting. I've been a reader my whole life so I know what I like but it isn't always what everyone else likes :D
What I usually enjoy the most is the more literary or at least literate type of science fiction, but I read pretty widely in fiction; I like contemporary fiction, classics, historical fiction, mysteries, fantasy, occasionally romance - and books that combine or cross genre I especially like. About five years ago I began to read alternating books by men and women and it made me realize I usually like books by women more (though I have a lot of authors I really like who are men, when I read a book by a new author, if it's a man there's a larger chance I won't like it, I think). I stopped being really strict about it a year ago or a bit more when I realized that.
Mostly I choose books based on what I read about them on a bunch of book review blogs I follow, or award nominations, or occasionally recommendations from internet friends like you all :D The main thing to me is writing quality, closely followed by consistent and well done characterization; I also appreciate intellectually challenging writing and, because I'm getting older, I like books about older characters a little more than ones about younger characters :D. I try to avoid books that have too much suspense or sexualized violence, because I tend to not like reading books like that. I make occasional exceptions if it otherwise sounds like I'd really like the book. (I mean... it can have plenty of sex and plenty of violence if it must... just don't mix them please :S)
going to be playing Secret world again tonight for a while - too busy during the week to find much time for it so weekends work well 💙
I totally think you're right! I think there's only 3 positions where I work that are full time + have benefits. So, that's not very promising. I've been thinking of starting my own business on the side for teaching art classes and camps. I'm currently looking into grants and funding!
I'm actually a Capricorn! I'm riiight at the end of the Capricorn birthdays. So I guess I'm technically a cusp sign, but I feel like a Capricorn. I worked, so I didn't have any plans for my sister's birthday. She stopped in to see me and got to get an additional family discount, though! :P I don't see much of my sister, even thought we live in the same town, because of work schedules and she keeps pretty busy.
It sounds like you are a passionate reader. I mostly read fiction, too, mostly fantasy and sci-fi of various types. I used to be pretty narrow on what I read, but I've branched out more as I got older and read more genres. I understand not wanting sexualized violence -- it's not something I want in the media I read/watch. I'm trying to read more this year after not reading much the last 2 years. I used to read a ton but sort of fell out of the habit of reading for fun when I started my professional career. Do you have Goodreads?
That sounds interesting. I wonder what types of herbs/plants is in it.
I just took the ornaments off the tree upstairs did the dishes and some landry wince I have been home. Probably going to sleep soon
Oh I see at least you saw each other. I am probably going to hit the hay soon but I should wait for my clothes to dry ugh
I view Goodreads pretty often but I don't keep it updated with what I read/have read :D It's the easiest way to find out what all the books are in a series, I think...
Yeah, it was a nice surprise! I couldn't ring her up though cuz it's again the rules. Bah. I'm hoping we all might get together for dinner sometime soon. I'm sure I'll chat with you again soon ;)
That makes sense! They updated the app recently, and I gotta poke around it some again. I usually sign up for the reading challenge each year, at least, and check in when I finish a book.

The only Polish science fiction writer I read a lot was Stanislaw Lem, have you read his books?
I haven't found a good English translation of the Witcher books yet, the ones that I found were unreadable unfortunately :( Like really awful...
Lem's translators have been mostly very good, especially Michael Kandel's and Bill Johnston's. My son also enjoyed some of the Lem books (Star Diaries and Pirx the Pilot ones).
Over the years I've made several attempts to chronicle my reading, or at least record it, but I never made it more than 6 months without giving up or getting bored with the idea or just forgetting for a month or so and then thinking it was pointless to resume... so I guess I'll never really be able to look back on any record of what I read each year. I would have really enjoyed reviewing that information... just couldn't quite get myself to record it :D I probably would've lost it by now if I had though... knowing how bad I am at keeping track of things. I think I read around 100 novels a year. It was probably a higher number when I was younger, mostly because books tended to be shorter then ;)
I didnt read Lem I reameber i tryed to do that but OMG it was so hard for me that i pass xD but it was long time ago so maybe something changed and i try to return to his books :)
