, it IS THE OLD BAY! lol i don't think i can eat seafood, without using the old bay. :D but then. i grew up with it, and didn't even realize that MOST STATES don't even KNOW old bay! lol you wouldn't believe how excited i got, when i moved to texas, and actually found old bay in a kroger! hahahaaaa it was the first time i found it outside of Maryland. :D

and YES on the girl! and BEST of all (i'm SUCH a wicked witchy) did i tell you her best friend got the job that angel had been trying to get, Since BEFORE she even graduated?

I mean. she's been working on the people, meeting them, (the boss and the 'big boss') since before she even graduate, she REALLY wanted that job. then one day, one of her best friends, was talking with her, asked her about her day, and Angel was venting about how terrible it was, when the girl says, "well, don't want to make it worse, but i got that job you wanted"

ISN'T THAT A BITCH!!! angel said it felt like a knife going into her chest. the girl had NOT even Told angel that she was going to apply for it!! PLUS EVERY ONE Knew that angel wanted that job!

Ang was SO UPSET! (and i DO NOT BLAME HER!! THAT HER "FRIEND" DID THAT TO HER!) i mean. it would have been bad enough, if she had at least TOLD angel that she was going to apply for it! but to Not Even DO THAT.

when she told angel, angel said, "I can't talk to you right now, i'm really upset" and hung up. lol i was proud of her.

THANK GOODNESS Angel got this other job. doing EXACTLY what she wanted (which she would not have done, at that 1st job) working in a lab, doing research. (that's what she was really really wanting) /hahahaa and it's for KITTY LITTER! LOL/

any way. the 2 ladies she works with, angel absolutely loves. (and they love her) and it's only 30 min. from where she lives. and SHE'S getting a DECENT pay. (this week will be her first "weeks pay")

i'm just SO relived for her. and i really REALLY hope it works out for her (the ladies don't turn into real bitches, take advantage of her, etc)

and MY FOOD PROCESSOR ARRIVED!! lol i'm SO excited! today i'm going to try to make more hummus. and OMG i realized that i can chop my veggies with the thing, (instead of doing every thing by hand)

heh. even though. i admit, i was thinking, i'll probably still chop some of my veggies by hand. especially since i got that super knife. :D

BUT OMG!! THE SAUCE I'LL BE ABLE TO MAKE! SALSA oh man. i keep thinking of more stuff i can use it for!! lol

, lol when i was telling FLYINGKAT about it, i think i forgot the cumin and lemon juice. i've GOT to find the recipe i based my off. :D

i would buy from the store, but all they have is that one brand, and when i did reviews, they said that the brand (sebra? something like that) had the highest salt content (and was the lowest in "taste")

i've been trying really hard to make food 'from scratch' to watch my salt content. (plus, using "fresh" produce, really DOES make a taste difference)

, I MADE HUMMUS!~~ OMG it's SOOOOoooo good. And SMOOTH! i put the food processor together ALL BY MYSELF! and I didn't cut myself! :D lol

i'm going to make me some homemade tomato soup! YUM and i'll be able to do it, because of the food processor!! lol

oh damn. hahahaa, i forgot to take a picture of the hummus! heh. i'll wait till i roast some more tomatoes, and get some pita bread and make a "nice picture plate" and post that :D

heh. i've been bad. i didn't put up a pick of my minestrone soup. or the butternut squash soup i made. i haven't put up anything for a few weeks now that i think about it.

The salad dressing I make uses vinegar but when I make hummus I use lemon juice too. But not cumin. I don't even think cumin sounds good in hummus? Somehow.

I sometimes will use sumac though. I got a sumac spice mix from the nice Mediterranean bakery near me and it goes very well with any of those kind of salads... I like it best on the tomato-cucumber one but it's also great on potato salad or rice salad especially if I put Greek olives in them. If I could still eat tabbouleh it'd be good on that too.

But mostly I stick to garlic/lemon/chickpea/tahini/olive oil...

I've noticed lately that a lot of people just don't cover their mouths when they cough/sneeze anymore! So rude. I mean everyone slips up, but people seem extra careless lately. The combination of that and the flu shots being stupidly ineffective this year-it's no wonder they are already calling this one of the worst cold/flu seasons ever.

I think a few members over there also changed their UNs, leaving me even more confused lol
