Hi Bears...I'm in southern California...30 miles south of Malibu. No fire danger for us but the sky is smokey and a strange color...and we can smell the smoke. It's eerie...so sad for all the folks who lost homes...

No. Cal. bear here. Our friends east of Paradise have lost their home for the second time in ten years. :( They managed to save the family, but one of their horses and the family cat could not be rescued before the fire overran them again. Ironically, the kitty was named Cinder, and was rescued as a kitten from the '08 fire.

when duane was here i helped him go to his appts and he was diagnosed and treated..maybe it is californis that takes that more seriously than other stated ???? it is a very haunting illness especially because you cant SEE it like a broken bone..ya know. duane always had to sit with his back to a wall and not to many peolple in the resteraunts etc..internal fear that turns on n off without your own will. di you yourself serve??or family member? so you know ayone with ptsd?

So Cal Bear here too. We are in Ventura County and could see the smoke plume from the Woolsey Fire when it started but we are not located in any evacuation areas. Our cable and internet was down most of yesterday due to damaged fiber optics cables in the fire. Crews working tirelessly got service back up last evening. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires. The high winds started back up about 30 minutes ago and fires are flaring up again. Bless all the First Responders, Fire, Law enforcement, military, and others working to save lives and property!

As a NoCal native from days of old, Im watching that fire closely, I have family in Oroville and up the mountain near where my parents are laid to rest. I can't find my brother which is normal, he's a hermit kinda guy who hides around Feather Falls but my niece has reassured me that her mom and family who are around Challenge have come down the mountain to stay with her for now. My heart literally shatters for the families in Paradise, I believe my sister had friends in that area but did not talk to her about it. She's busy getting her horses and classic cars down to safety.

To those of y'all in SoCal, I wish I had words. I do not. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you ALL

Also, totally bummed. I had the Crown Collector achv, and they can't confirm that one. I borrowed crowns from several people, and I don't think the crown of royals lender is even here anymore. :( Not sure if it's still as rare as it was... but I imagine it is.

: We have good friends in SoCal and Paradise who have lost homes, but are safe. Now, the smoke has filtered down and has invaded Central California as a very small reminder of what our friends have gone through.

sometimes when I think of the places I have been and the things I have seen it shocks me. I was raised in a small rural farm community in Montana(USA for those that don’t where it is). I think the top of the list. My older had his high school graduation in Cairo, Egypt in front of the Sphinx and Giza Pyramids ( senior class picture was on the largest pyramid). My hubby was a diplomat, so my sons attended an American credited high school there.

This trip we went to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. So this trip was collecting passport stamps.

I mean that they need to have info on out Veterans Day because it should go hand in hand with vets day more and done every day. I served in the army back in 1981 for 3 years, and I am Disabled vet
