i just found my dog suki dead on the side of the road she is my security blanket and i am hers and i failed her i am lost now she was my everything dont know if i will b able to cope with life for a while

I am so, so sorry! I've lost one dog to the streets and I've been paranoid ever since then. My dogs never get out of the backyard.

she was hit by a car i am a veteran and she was my everything she was what kept me going and kept me sane i am actually losing it already i probably wont b back for a long time im really hurting inside and dont feel like being alive anymore without my baby girl she was my world we did everything together well im done

Such devastating news hon. I know how important that dog was to you. I'm a firm believer that God has a reason for everything that happens and you will figure it out. Nothing anyone can say will truly ease the pain but know that you are loved and we are all pulling for you. You are not alone hon. Your life still has meaning and we want you to hang on. Lean on God and he will help you through the grief. Please talk to someone about this and accept the help you are offered. I have three children that are Army. One veteran, two active duty. My youngest gets out of the Army in February. .. Gi zah gin. Take a breath and hear me out - perhaps Suki's time in our world, short as it may seem to us, was done. You've grown stronger and become more assured and seem much happier from years ago when we first met. Perhaps it was her time to return to the Creator. Yes, it hurts, damn it hurts like a mofo, I know, but if you can go for a walk or somewhere PRIVATE where the two of you had good memories, put down a few pinches of tobacco around a small plant or tree. [this is how our people begin to pray]

Then, as the tears fall let your gratitude for allowing you to be her person rise from inside and talk to her. And to God - ask that good memories come when the tears start to fall, tell her how much she mattered, whatever you feel, talk it out in prayer. I promise you'll find yourself a little less hurt inside after awhile. Do it every time you feel the need, I put tobacco down every time I see an eagle or think about things too much. Or someone's in trouble. Or any time I want to pray. As in every time I step outside.

it is so hard to lose one of our furry family members. I think most of us know that feeling and we are right there with you. Take the time you need to grieve.

I understand completely what you are going thru. Nothing was your fault. It was time to go. I lost my beloved dog, Spud, a boxer, and the best friend anyone could ever want, about this time 5 years ago. I still think of him with tears in my eyes and a big gap in my heart that will never be filled. I miss the panting, the farting, the head butting, the licks, the un-devoted love he gave. Nothing will ever replace him, but another dog can take up another part of your heart. The one that hurts is reserved for the dog that is taken, but our hearts are large, are our souls strong. Time does not heal all but does ease the hurt. You have all the love of the Lair and all the support we can give you at this time. You take all the time you need my friend, we will be here always.
