I'm 23, went to public school and learned it somewhere around 1st-3rd grade. I'm glad I did and I think they should still teach it!

IT seems like it was taught in the third grade for most gen x and gen z, But it seems like many states are saying it's no longer something that's necessary, Apparently California still teaches it in 2nd grade.

I'm 32, I learnt in normal script but I had a cursive book every year in elementary with calligraphy exercises. I'm quite good at it and even at making artsy calligraphy now.

I'm 26 and I'm pretty sure I started learning cursive around 3rd grade. I still think it should be taught. I mean, can you imagine someone asking you to sign your name and you start printing it. I would hate to be in that situation x.x;;

I was home schooled and taught by my mom, she taught me how to write cursive along with printing. I still use cursive to this day.

I'm 26 and went to a few different public elementary schools in both Canada and the US growing up. I think I started learning cursive in the 3rd grade? Somewhere around then for sure...it was sort of a normal thing all kids learned at that age. Every adult I knew made it seem like an essential life skill. But really, I only had a few teachers in middle and high school that would ask for all our handwritten assignments be done in cursive. It was seldom used by anyone past grade 11 though.

Nope, lmao. I learned how to write my signature and that became my own. I was maybe eight and my grandparents were scandalized but I was also coming into schooling when you literally had to type everything for it to be accepted in school.

We learned cursive writing in 3rd grade and had to write in cursive all the time until 6th grade ^^

I don't really use it very much, but when I do it's for a piece of art

I am currently 23 but I learned through public school. I think it was first or second grade. Though now my cursive hand-writing is absolutely terrible. So I kinda want to relearn it and get better at it.

Signing my name is always hard for me cause i honestly do not remember writing a lot of cursive. and I really want to get better for hen I can sell prints of my art my signing won't look so terrible.

I am 29 and learning to write has just been a default thing at schools in my country. I went to a public school and they started teaching us cursive writing from grade 1, if I am not moosetaken.

I'm also 29 years old and I started learning cursive in public school in third grade, but by then I was already grasping the basics because I was obsessed with writing and all its forms. My fiancee also learned it in elementary school, and he's about two months younger than I am.

I’m 28 and I think I learned in first or second grade. I haven’t used it for much more than my signature, but I’m working on getting back into it. I do think it would be good to teach it still, they take away so much from kids in school now that it’s not about learning anymore.

No. I've always wanted to be able to do it, but tbh I can barely read it.

I've learnt cursive writing at home when I was 4, and my education history was quite scattered to multiple public and private schools because of my mother's job. My age is 21, Brazilian.

I'm 27 and we learned it, but honestly, it's only useful to look pretty and make it easier to make a unique signature. It did impact my print a bit, I tend to string my letters together.

yeah i did! i learned in public school when i was 8 / in third grade. i'm currently 25, so this was like 17 years ago. cursive has only ever been useful for me when i'm messing around with new signatures or trying to make my school notes look fancy.
