I may just keep it in the debatable section then, on the precedence of being included... Maybe as more clearly curly styles get added to the site I can filter out ones that seem iffy. Until then braids are a more than decent option even if the target hair isn't that specific type. /thinking out loud lol

I always saw Pastel Mixtape as textured, because of the sides being cornrowed + Dutch braids are very commonly used for textured hair (cornrows being small Dutch braids too). But then again, others have uh 'borrowed' the cornrows look.

I have two more wigs that are type 4 hair that haven't been put on site. I really need to do CIs for them. We just flat out need more, ahaha

We’ve got some nasty new dreads at Skitter’s zombie den for survival. Idk if they’re even really a curly hair style but I’ve been adding dreads by default, and it’s generally understood that skitters sells nasty versions of stuff (except for the skirts and shoes and jeans and hair recolours but I digress). I will pop them into the official post this evening when I get back to my desktop.

This thread is everything. ? Thank you Mackenzi for this list & for everyone who has helped curate it. I've been here a long ass time and it's so nice to see how far Subeta has come w/ adding natural hair in the last few years.

It’s a huge relief and joy to me that other people are finding the list useful enough to use and add to, I was not expecting much of a response at all. ? And yeah, remember when there were more clown hair wigs than naturally curly hairstyles? The site has come so far! It’s pretty rad.

I was amazed when I saw the clown wigs on this list at all, although they certainly can be used as dyed 'fros. The site really has come a long way in this respect. It was kind of a shock when I first came over here from Gaia, where all custom items that modify the body in a way that require matching a skin tone have to have at least 6 tones available.

Yeah they’re iffy, I’ve used the blueish one for space themed avvies a couple times so I included them. I would love a redeemable wig in the style of and and , to get the colors of those wigs on some actually nice hair! Do you think I should move the clown wigs to debatable? I figure I will move more and more items to debatable or even off the list completely as we get more items added on the site and don’t have to work around the scarcity anymore.

I don't know. The style is obviously just fine, and everyone in this world nowadays (and in any fantasy/SF world) is able to rock unnatural colours. What bothers me about the clown wigs is the idea that hair that is natural for a sizably large group of people that just happens to be mostly not white people is called "clown hair"-- rather than the hair itself.

I really wish they'd rename the wigs, rather than you having to move them.

I think the rainbow one can go, though. Nobody but a clown dyes their hair like that. You can see actual people with blue or pink fros, but not that.

i agree w valiska, though i think rainbow should be kept with the others, cause if someone's looking for that hairstyle they might not notice there's one seperate, and people have ocs with all sortsa looks even if it's not a v realistic colour

My issue with the rainbow clown wig is that it's a dye job that would be almost impossible to do like that IRL and there's a wig exactly like that in every joke shop or halloween store.

Do people have fros with highlighting and multiple colours? absolutely.

But I've never seen that exact colour distribution anywhere but on a clown or a joke shop wig?

i mean, i get what you're saying, i just don't think it makes sense from an organisational standpoint to split them up, especially since the others are named clown already and there's no avoiding that unfortunate connection

...I think it's more important to be respectful than completionist in this instance? YMMV, I'm not judging nobody here, especially since I have somewhere between type 1 and type 2a hair myself (there are waves in it, but only if you cut it off at the shoulder or maybe an inch or two more).

no, you're right, and like im also idk what number but white person hair. i still think that item could be useful for characters with unrealistic colouration? but it's up to mackenzi which they think is better

quite right, it's not our list. also I'm not exactly the most objective because I'm one of those people that finds most circus clowns to be disgusting/terrifying-looking. Not phobic exactly but just gross.
