So, Drew had noticed the flowers too? "Yes, she's very pretty," he said accidentally saying she instead of regarding her name. He now tried to become invisible as he slunk down in his chair. He was the brightest shade of red.

“Pft, I ain’t no a sidekick,” Magnus said with a laugh, “And I didn’t ask cos I knew. You baked those yummy lemon biscuits for Paul and gave me one, remember? And then you give me this amazing talisman which you made.”

He made sort of Eep sound when she complemented his glasses and wished he needed them more often than just for reading. The Irish boy tried to get his tongue to work, but it it came out “Ilikebertiebotsalot.” Then his heart fluttered. "You do?" Had she heard he wanted to play? And she did ballet--he'd just mentioned he wanted to try.

"Those are very nice hobbies, my favorite instrument is the violin, the sound gives me so much peace it's like it's melting my soul. Would love to hear you play, maybe you can teach Niall." . [Edit] Merlin laughed at Magnus reaction to the sidekick, he was sure he would protest and that was exactly why he said it. "Well of course, you will be the hero's pet!" He was playfully pushing him while he laughed harder. "You may know my hobbies but not Niall or the others" He grins. "I'm sending Niall away with his very own bag of cookies made by me. Your lucky cause I made a batch yesterday "

Drew nodded agreement to Magnus' comment. "I knew you liked baking too, Merls," he said. "And animals and plants. Didn't mean to leave you out though." He smiled at his friend. At the mention of the parts they could play, Drew said, "The villain? Hmm...so you think I could be evil, Merls?" He mock glared from beneath his lock of hair over his eye and gave an evil laugh.

Hearing Rosie's hobbies, his smile grew. "Well isn't that a coincidence? Sounds like you and Niall have a lot in common. maybe you could take classes with us too? Or even teach them if you've got all that experience."

Rosie blushed when Niall said she was pretty widening her eyes a little. "yeah I do. Learned a little piano too but I like the violin much more" she replied taking note of his candy preferences. One box would be a nice small present and judging by the way he had acted that morning the boy wasn't used to recieving things. And everyone should at least get some love and hopefully lots of gifts and cake for their birthday. Rosie realised she had had a very good life and thought she could take it a step further. Merlin mentioned violin lessons so she jumped at the oppertunity "I don't know how good I am at teaching, but if you do come to Hogwarts I can at least try to help you practise on the weekends. I think I have another one at home. I could ask mum to send it over with the next owl?" she casually said trying to be not too over the top.

Merlin smirks and nods. "Yes, you and Kyros () can definitely play the villain since you are both the pranksters. I am too good so I can't play that." He giggles. "I think Niall have found a match in tastes." He winks to the red faced boy.

After Rosie agreed on helping Merlin got excited. "Oh, there you go! You have a study buddy Nial!!" He nudges him playfully. "You see how fruitful this visit was for you? Don't you agree Mag?"

Magnus gave a tiny growl. But the talisman started calming him the moment he started getting angry. It hadn’t been meant any other way than affectionately. “Sorry,” he said looking away from them all. “Calling me a pet is what a lot of people do about a werewolf and they don’t mean it nicely. I’m explaining my reaction. I know it were a friendly joke.” His eyes remained downcast though.
“I am?” he asked about the confectionary. Then Magnus was upset and Niall had no idea how to reply. Then Merlin suggested Rosie teach him and he couldn’t look at anyone. Yeah that’d be wonderful if he had one to play… But the thought stayed in his head. Wait? Did she just offer him a violin? He looked at her his blue eyes shinning. “I-I…” he stammered, “that-that would…woah.” Merlin was right this had proved to be a good visit.

"Yeah," Magnus said, "and she could teach 'im ballet too." He gave a smile hoping he'd be forgiven for the growl.

Merlin made a tiny pout. "I'm sorry Mag, I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I was playing the fool, like always." He nudges him. "You know I can be the pet dragon." He grins to him. "Then you can play the fool then." He giggles a bit. "Well someone has to be the comedy relief!"

"I know mate, I know. I didn't mean ta growl, it was kinda just a reaction." He smiled, "I'm good at being a fool too.

"I'll have to stay clear of your path. I don't want to be pranked. Last time I couldn't play music for a week" she pouted. She smiled at Merlin. Of course she would help. If she could help people find music and enjoy it as she did she'd be happy. Rosie nodded brightly as Niall stammered. "It's just my old one." she muttered. She thought it would be better not to mention she actually had 3. Magnus said she could teach ballet too. Rosie choked on air. She knew she was good with the violin and knew plenty ballet, but she could never teach that. Her mother was the former prima ballerina, not her. "No no.. I can't.. Really.. If you want to learn ballet you better ask my mum. Uhmm.. She teaches ballet you know. Though you'd have to go to her studio in Edinburgh. Perhaps that's not a good idea after all...." Rosie trailed off. She thought about her mother's special classes for wizard kids. Not many people knew about such a thing. A safe environment where kids could freely express their emotions through dance and magic.

Merlin smiled. "You can growl, I growl too..just don't feel bad because I would never say things to offend you, if I do just let me know. I can say the wrong things all the time." He scratched his head. "Changing the subject, I can't wait to go get my pet, but then we can't have a pet in the workshop." He pouts. "So we may have to wait till the end and that sucks..I will probably sneak out between restaurants. Do you think we can buy the pets and have them sent to our dorms? No, but I want to pet it." He looks at Niall. "And then Niall wouldn't be able to enter the other places. You hungry? You want me to get you something else?"

((OOC: I tend to do it sometimes and it is pretty bad! Later!))

Niall was still blushing heavily. “Its very kind of ya, Miss.” A used one was still very generous and far more than he ever thought he could get. Magnus blurted out she could teach him to dance and the little boy though he’d die on the spot.

“Really? Neat. I dance studio would be neat to visit.” He looked at Merlin, “we could send the pets to the dorms and Niall’s to the inn. They’d ‘old it for ‘im so he could use the flu network to get ‘ome.”

“Y-you bought me a book…” Niall said, “You should use your money for other things…”

(i tried that, I don't know how you can! you both have my props.)

Merlin smiled at the boy's reactions to what was going on, it was too sweet and adorable. "I can visit the dance studio but don't ask me to dance! I believe I won't be good at it, I do like music lots but that doesn't mean I have any talents with it." Merlin nods and smiles to the idea of going to see the pets soon, but when Niall protested he looked at him seriously. "I promised you a pet and I don't lie or keep my promises, besides I have enough for it and I don't have needs for anything else. I get money every week and I rarely use it since I normally get all my supplies for potions in the forest and in the kitchen for my cookies- the house elves are so nice." He smiles. "So, I spend little, mostly on chocolate frogs and I don't buy them always. Would you like one? They are my favorites..I love chocolate." He looks at Magnus mischievously. "Besides, I heard it was your birthday a little while ago, so the pet will be my birthday gift."

"You'd be good at falling," Magnus said with a giggle, "Though you could stand on someone's shoes."

Niall nodded when Merlin was firmly saying he was buy the pet and added it would be a birthday present. He turned red again and was threatening to fall out of the chair for his sinking. The asking him if wanted a chocolate frog made him shake his head. Not because he wouldn't want one but Merlin had done enough. "Miss G-Gaia said she was gonna put a box together at Honeydukes for me."

Magnus nodded at Merlin and was wondering what he could buy the kid. Maybe they had a book to teach ballet, some of those books moved and everything.

"You can come visit anytime. Most of the summer we stay at the family estate back in France but I know mum will floo to Edinburgh for lessons." Rosie said. "Mum teaches from the basics and up. You might share the class with a bunch of 6 year olds though." she giggled at that. It would look a little silly. Grown wizards learning to dance together with the small ones.

"I-I dunno if I'd be allowed," Niall said shyly. He definitely wouldn't have the funds. "I'd have to ask Madame, though, I'd have to clean or something for your mother.

Actually younger kids would likely make Niall feel more comfortable, but Magnus kept this thought to himself.

Merlin almost pee for so much laughter, of course he would be flat on his face every time he tries a dance step! Noticing Niall was sinking more on his seat and with his quick reply about Gaia, he accepted defeat. "Alright, she can get you all the goodies then."

Drew made a face at Merlin's teasing and then reassured Rosie. "I'm not that bad. Actually I don't know what's happened to me since I met Mags and Merl. I used to be the one hiding in the corner with a book and being more serious. Now..." he shrugged and smiled. "Maybe it's part of the Hogwarts magic."

"It would be cool to go to a dance studio," Drew commented. "I've been to Edinburgh before and enjoyed it. So your family has an estate in France?" he asked Rosie.

It was cute the way Niall was interacting with Rosie, Drew thought with a smile. He hoped things would continue to work out for the younger boy. A tiny idea formed in his mind but he dismissed it with a soft sigh. At least he was going to do his best to make sure that Niall had a great day with plenty of birthday fun.

"I'm sure it'll be fine." Rosie said and pat Niall on the shoulder. "First we enjoy today and then we'll go from there. I'm sure your Madame can arrange something with my mum." she finished. Rosie was already making a mental list for all the things she would need. Her old violin, sple sheet music, the bow and a number of string packages. The boy would need some ballet equipment so Rosie was also going to ask her mum to prepare those. It would be easy to find some shoes and for the basics you weren't required to wear the tight fitting clothes.

Rosie nodded to Drew. "Yeah, one half of the family is old pure blood. The castle's been in the family since late 18th century. My auntie and grandparents live there." She kept information bomb short well aware of the whole status and money associated with those words.

Nodding, Drew smiled at Rosie. "Kind of reminds me of my family," he said. "Mum is from an old Scottish pureblood family. Dad is an American Muggle. We moved back to the UK two years ago to be with my grandfather...Mum's dad...before he passed away. Mum inherited the manor house where we're living now, and the castle went to her brother as heir."
