Merlin smiled to paddy. "Well for a beginner you are doing really well, hey at least you didn't hit your head, broke your broom, or anything stupid like that." He laughed at his previous disastrous results. "With practice you may one day get into a team, while I will be asked not to sit on a broom again." He laughed harder since he was actually joking but wonder how true can that be.

Merlin answered to Magnus comment to the puffskein. "I keep telling you because I know you don't want it!" He smirks. "You probably prefer a snake or a dragon."

"Thanks, but I think I've got a long way to go before I'm ready for a team. It's much better than the school broom, but I'm still getting used to the speed it takes corners." She smiled at Merlin, "I did have an advantage on that though," she replied, "before I came down to this workshop, I had help to charm a helmet so it wasn't visible. I thought Eros wouldn't take too kindly to a concussed werewolf on his workshop." "That sounds fair," she added to Magnus, "although I'm not picking you out a snake. You pick what you want, and I'll pay for it, then you know you won't end up with a Puffskein."

"Paddy gave me a snake," Magnus replied, "The moment Dixie found Dad's greenhouse, that was it. She wouldn't leave so, she's kinda Dad's now. 'E likes 'er and she likes the warmth and all the critters that try to get in it."

Magnus smiled, "'Ow about a little mouse that does tricks? You're rat Rodney is so cute after all and a mouse can fit in me pocket."

Merlin looks up to her and smiled. "A helmet would have been very helpful to me, but I didn't use one- thought my head was hard enough and it is, but still got hurt. Oh well, that teaches me to be more careful next time."

"I will give you something, but you have to wait a little."

Magnus blushed. "You don't 'ave ta give me anything, Merls. I dont need anything."

Merlin shook his head. "I want to give you something, it's not because of the bet or anything, it's because you are someone dear to me, a good friend so I didn't asked for permission, you are getting it like it or not." He sticks out his tongue and laughed after.

Magnus spluttered and turned exceptionally red. The boy was just not used to people giving him things or doing things for him and it wasn't because of the bet so he felt awkward and a little guilty. He turned even more red, if that was possible when Merlin said he was dear to him. "I am? But... I ain't anything special..." Why? Was what he wanted to ask. "I-I like ya a lot too."

Merlin was surprised for Magnus reaction but could understand in ways how he felt since he too never considered himself special in any way. "Well to me you are very special and the only close friend I actually have so don't dare say your nothing special because you are."

He looked shyly on the ground and then threw caution to the wind and gave Merlin a hug. It was quick but it meant a lot. "Then you don't getta bad mouth yourself either," he said with a crooked smile, "Cos you are special too. So we'll both 'ave ta behave ourselves...as best we can."

Merlin blushed after the hug and smiled. "I'll do my best to behave." He playfully pushed him.

Sensing a topic change might be a good idea, he asked, "So when should we 'ead to the forest? You think we can create some mischief?"

There was brief look of surprise and discomfort on his face before he simply just moved out of the physical contact zone. Eros gave in to the Magnus and Merlin. He sure wasn't going to fight them for fault if they wanted to take it. Although, from what he has heard, maybe the pair should be blacklisted from his future workshops. He smirked at the thought and surrendered his hands up in defeat, although one he was willing to take.

The captain went back to watching pairs take on the challenge before going to grab his own broom. "Ready to lose?," he invited as he mounted his broom.

(feel better! Migraines are evil :( ) Magnus smiled at Eros' yielding but quickly took his hand off the boy, sensing he didn't want the contact.

Merlin's eyes lit up when he heard the forest and whispered. "We can go after the workshop if you want but if you are tired we can go tomorrow."

Merlin couldn't wait to see Eros and Gaia racing each other, their rivalry would make it even more intense. "Best of lucks to both."

"Seems you are feeling confident, Eros. You should know to not underestimate me." In one swift jump Gaia grabbed her broom and mounted it hovering low enough to grab a belt for herself. "Who is chasing? I feel that would be something you would be good at." Gaia smiled and winked at Eros. ()

Gaia heard Merlin's () words "Thanks, he will need it!"

"I'm not too tired," Magnus said with a smile, "Yet anyway, we'll see after the next course."

"Good luck Eros, good luck Gaia."

He was trying to figure out what she meant by that, but didn't dwell on it too long. His hands had tightened their grip on his broom without him realizing it. Eros ascended into the air, positioning himself in front of the course. "Fine. I'll chase," he stated (), taking a deep breath to relax his muscles. He wasn't sure what had made him tense up since he definitely wasn't nervous, at least, not competing with Gaia. "Ready?"

Outfit Not Found

"Was born ready. Good luck, Sigurd." Gaia rushed to the obstacle start and closed her eyes enjoying the rush of adrenaline. She loved a challenge and Eros was a great Quidditch player. He did need to be taught a lesson. Gaia smiled to herself and opened her eyes. "Time to go, kid." With one last wicked grin she took off clearing the first ring easily and looped around the second and third rings to throw Eros off her path. The next rings where a little more trickier and Gaia hesitated a few seconds and almost didn't make it through the fourth and fifth rings.

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/KTKugF2.png[/img] Eros wasn't a big believer in luck. He was more skill-oriented, so he didn't wish luck back. "May the better flyer win, Kavanagh," he said instead. As soon as she took off, Eros counted down two seconds before racing after her. He zigzagged his way through the first couple of rings easily. He had done it hundreds of time. However, the advantage of being familiar with the course didn't give him much of a gain on Gaia until she got to the fourth ring. There seemed to be hesitation on her part that allowed Eros to close the proximity between him and her. He was right behind her as they made their way to the fifth. He reached out an arm in an attempt to swipe her flag as he crossed the fifth ring but was not able to touch base with it.

However, Eros didn't slow down and stayed on Gaia's tail. As he got to the sixth ring, he had to divide his attention between trying to grab her flag while making sure he got through the faster moving ring. He was able to get pass the sixth without changing his speed, but he slowed down a bit as he approached the seventh.

Gaia did not like how close Eros was getting and she was not about to let him off easily. She took her previous hesitation and sped up through the sixth and seventh ring narrowly missing hitting it with her broom. She had her eye on the flag tied around the post. She sped up past the loop and made her U-turn facing Eros for a few seconds she smiled at him and blew him a kiss before she dropped suddenly and grabbed the flag from under the ring and crossed through it again. Making her way through the 8th and 9th ring and taking a sharp left for the 10th.

She narrowed her eyes focusing. The next two rings a moderate one and a fast one had a small window where she could get through them in one go. The catch was doing it at the right speed without losing control. She went for it and almost hit the first ring. Angry at herself Gaia looped around avoiding Eros and protecting her flag as she tried again. These loops where more challenging than she thought.
