Shrugging, Drew said, "If I ever find anyone. Haven't come across them yet." He didn't mention that he'd been more focused and concerned about making friends rather than finding a possible girlfriend.

"Oh," Paul said, "yes, I can see that being huge problem at what...13? 14? Yes, I can see how you are worried about being destined to become a permanent bachelor."

"14," Drew said. "And well...Mags already has someone," he related, "and he's younger than me."

"So?" Paul replied, "what does that matter? I mean if you're gonna factor in Magnus' age, then I'd say in some things he's likely in his twenties, maybe older."

Magnus shrugged. "Don't bring me in this," he mumbled.

"The point is," Paul kept going, "everyone finds connections at different points in their lives. Your life shapes you and molds you into whom you will become. Think of your life like a river, you meet with other rivers, you ebb and flow. Some rivers become part of you, others don't."

Merlin haven't thought about falling in love in all his 15 years of age and have only cared about magic and animals so he kinda agreed with Drew, but he had to admit...he liked someone. "I can understand Drew..I was like that myself, but I wouldn't mind snogging someone." He blushed but his wrinkles didn't let the blush show. "Now I'm so old, I won't ever found love - I will die lonely." He honestly felt like he was dying- he wasn't used to all that pain. "If I had to walk back to the castle, I would probably drop dead in my second step."

Drew listened to Paul's words of wisdom and nodded. Then with a smile, he said, "That all makes sense. I guess I'm just impatient at times." He smiled at Magnus and commented, "Right now I'll be content with friendship rivers connecting with mine and I'm glad of them."

Then looking back at Paul, Drew said, "I like the imagery you created too. You ever write anything?"

Drew glanced at Merlin with concern at his last comment. "Are you going to be alright, Merls? Maybe we should stay here longer." He wondered what Paul and Tamsin would say.

"I understand Drew as well. I had to be taught what love was. It took me a very long time to understand, for all I had was what I read in books." He sighed. "Merlin, you aren't going to die on my watch or Tamsin's and she's going to make you into a balloon... Right Tams?"

"Wise choice. Thank you, Shakespeare's influence I would say... And Tolkien. Aye, I have indeed penned some things."

Drew's hazel eyes lit up at the mention of two of his favorite writers. "Two classics," he grinned. "At least to me though I know some people who can't stand one or the other or sometimes both of them. Weirdos," he added, though not unkindly, just in a tone that said he had no clue how a person couldn't love Shakespeare and Tolkien. He was dying to ask Paul more about his writings but didn't want to pry as he was well aware that what a person wrote was oftentimes an out-flowing of themselves and therefore more private.

((On a brighter note. I bought tickets for Logan tomorrow in 4D. =D ))

Tamsin nods to Paul since she was eating berries, then swallowed. "He is a balloon in a few." She winks and Merlin just made a sad face.

To Paul's word he said. "How can you prevent an old man from dying Paul? I have more wrinkles than Dumbledore ever did!" He tried to laugh. "He could still walk before he died, and what is more ironic is..that I used to disguise myself as an old man to get out of the castle..never again."

"Because if the flower hasn't corrected itself I'm sure your school's healer will have you fixed up. Now, please, try not to despair. And seeing as I'm destined for a bed there myself, I expect happier company."

"Shakespeare was my only friend for the longest time. His words..." he looked dreamily, "Oh his words painted the world so much more beautiful than I had seen it. They reached into the darker corners and lit them. Touched my soul. I did not think such beauty existed in this world except in books. Books were my only friends. They speak to me, tell me their stories, tell me where they have traveled. Yes, books make one free."

Drew looked up at Paul with admiration and total understanding shining in his eyes as he nodded and without real thought quoted a poem, while not Shakespeare, one he was certain Paul would understand since the man's words about traveling by book and the written word made Drew think of the lines immediately. "There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away. Nor any coursers like a page of prancing poetry. This traverse may the poorest take without oppress of toll. How frugal is the chariot that bears the human soul." Then realizing what he'd just done, the boy blushed and looked down to ruffle Dodger's ears.

(Haha I'm so sad this is the last movie with him. If you don't mind spoilers then, ask away but after i see it. lol))

Merlin nods "I will try to cheer up, but being old hurts." He then adds. "What is Tokin and Chayspir?"

Tamsin gave Merlin some berries. "At least, even old and with no teeth you can eat this berries- life has rewards after all. And stop whining, I know it's my fault you are old and wrinkly but soon you will be a baby again."

"I'm not a baby." He tries to sit straight. "I'm a young man and a great wizard...well soon."

"I'm sure you will be great." She rubbed his head and sat next to him. "I would like to take a nap." She closed her eyes and lay her head against a tree.

"Hopefully when you wake up we will all be back to normal- because Mag's voice is hilarious." He looks at Paul. "Unfortunately you may be knocked out and Drew ..he will look after you and read you books with Chayspir."

(Ikr? -sad face- I shall XD))

"I will get you copies of these books, Merlin," Paul said, "Muggle writers."

Paul winced. He did not like the idea of being knocked out at all and gave a sigh. "Drew, Magnus, you wake Tamsin if I do fall. You promise me this." He really wished they would move along but considering the other auror would have to shoulder a lot of the responsibly he could not deny her rest. Paul smiled at Drew but looked a little sad. He sighed and said:

Merlin was in awe. "Ohhh, is that your poetry? I can't write pretty things but I do like reading them." He then said. "Muggle writers? I have never read any, all I read was my mom's books. I had one children book that belonged to her when she was little and it was the famous Tales of Beedle the Bard. I wasn't much of a reader until recently." He took a deep breath. "I think I'm shrunking...probably the flower's magic is losing effect - I hope the old me loses effect soon too."

Grinning at Merlin's comments and unfamiliarity of Shakespeare and Tolkien, Drew said, "I'll teach you all about them if you like, Merls. If you read A Midsummer Night's Dream you might even think about this place. And Tolkien is just awesome...he created an entire world and even another language for his books."

As Paul gave directions as to what to do if he fell, Drew glanced over at Magnus and then nodded. "We will, Paul," he promised, though he hoped it wouldn't happen. He was really growing to like the auror and could well see why Magnus loved and admired him.

Drew listened as Paul quoted a poem that he wasn't familiar with. Of course that didn't really mean much as the boy in no way had read every poem around, but it was Paul's look as much as the words themselves that told the real story and Drew said softly, "You wrote that. It's beautiful."

(OOC: I'm really tired, I'm off to bed. Have a goodnight!)

"I would like to learn another language! This Tokin must be smart. Midsummer night...sounds familiar. I will borrow the books, just hope we don't get many assignments so I can read them before the break."

Tamsin was snoring and Merlin smiled and closed his eyes as well. "Goodnight guys, maybe its best we don't walk during the night but wake me if we are leaving."

Nodding, Drew said, "He was smart. He was a professor at a famous Muggle school." Making a face at the mention of assignments, he said, "I've still got a ton of assignments to do." He smiled and added, "Night, Merls."

"Don't worry Paul," Magnus said, "We'll make sure."

"I know I will, that's the effect of the potion. But I will keep going as long as I can. I only hope we don't stay too long..." He sighed. "Mother only let me read textbooks and she censored those. I had to steal the book of Shakespeare. I regret the theft, but I was young and curious." Paul blushed deeply and nodded. "My father's side of the family has a thing for stars. Everyone of us was named after one for a long time. Don't know how long it has been going on for... But even last name was after stars. I love stars too. My father would talk to me about them, show me the stars. He'd sing about them too." At the mention of knowing another language he added, "I know Gaelic."

"You do??" Drew asked. He regarded Paul in amazement. "My Grandpa did too. So...was your father Scottish? I love the stars too...astronomy is one of my favorite subjects. Mags thinks I'm crazy," he gave his friend a gentle nudge and smiled. "though I can totally understand his aversion toward certain heavenly bodies. My family used to stargaze at night and I loved it...still do."

"Do what? know I will fall? Yes, this is a given, its only a matter of time. Oh, you mean know Gaelic? Yes. When I was little I had a rather nice half-British, half-Scottish accent. Then it toned down to British and then mostly American. My father was Scottish, yes. I'm not sure what I am... guess a bit of all three." He shrugged.

"I don't think you're crazy," Magnus said, "I just don't enjoy it."

"He dreams in carbon, we dream in gas, that is the only difference," Paul said
