My name's Scout and I've been playing Subeta since Halloween 2006! One of my good friends irl played and introduced me to the site, luring me in the promise of it being like a certain other site only better, and she was right! I've been hooked since then, haha. The pet aspect of the site has honestly been the biggest selling point to me. I love working on my pets and finding the perfect name on the site that works with my already established characters. Even better is when I happen to randomly stumble across a name and instantly get inspired!

My babies

I've written most of the stories for my pets, though there are a few that I had commissioned as I couldn't figure out how to put my thoughts into words! All the art is commissioned, and I also commission my profiles. Once upon a time I used to code, but it's been entirely too long since I last tried lol.

I have 5 pet spotlight winners, and 2 pets who are currently finished and nominated. My winners are Misfit, Riggs, Contrivance, Arthas, and Unspoken. The pets currently in the queue as Anhya and Trey.

The rest of my pets are all in some form of development, and they can be found on my profile. Some have art and a profile, some just have a TC, some have stories but no profiles, and there's a small few who have ideas attached to them... They're all a little scattered in what they do or don't have, but they're being worked on, I promise! I just graduated from university so I didn't have as much time as I wanted to devote to my pets the past few years, but now I'm super excited to begin working again and finishing them up!

So what about Devotee? Something that really inspires me to work on my pets is music. All of the pets who are still waiting for stories are waiting because I haven't found a song that I can relate to them. While the songs aren't explicitly obvious in their stories, it just really helps me out with writing when I can give each pet a theme song. Devotee's theme song instantly came to mind, and it's LA Devotee by Panic! At The Disco. There's just something about that song that I've absolutely loved since first hearing it, and it's also given me an idea for a character that I would love to bring to life.

I would want to keep Devotee as a girl, though I may want to change her species/color. I would have to find the perfect combination, but as I've personally changed all of my pets species except for maybe 3 or 4 I would have no trouble ensuring that she becomes the perfect pet! Since a devotee is someone infatuated with something, and the song that I associate with her is about LA, I'm imagining her as a modern day 20something girl, living in LA and just being so totally in love with the LA lifestyle that she becomes totally consumed by it. I'm also entertaining ideas of her world being supernatural, but I would need to start writing out her story to see if that could fit in!

After thinking about what kind of pet she should be, I've landed on either a Nostalgic Jollin or a Nightmare Kerubi. They're sort of opposite ends of the spectrum, but to me that's fitting with a name like Devotee. Currently I'm leaning more towards the Jollin, but the Kerubi is also attractive in a sort of a 'ghost of your past, losing yourself' kind of way.

Devotee's story would be about a girl name Sarah, who moves to LA at 19 to follow her high school sweetheart from their small hometown as he begins college. After moving to the city, she gets a job as a barista at Starbucks to help support her boyfriend and herself as they try to start over in the big city. At first she's overwhelmed by everything, but eventually falls in with a group of girls who she works with, and they help her figure the city out.

Over the course of the next few years, she slowly sheds everything about her old self. She breaks up with her boyfriend after about a year and moves in with one of her coworkers. She cuts her hair and bleaches it blonde, phases her wardrobe from the jeans and flannels of her home town to all black dresses and skirts, her cowboy boots for heels and ankle boots, and even drops the 'h' from her name so she becomes Sara. She also begins to lose her accent and the LA accent starts to become more and more prominent. When she visits home, her family always remarks just how much she's changed. At first they support her and how's she's growing, but when she breaks up with her boyfriend they begin to express concern to the point that when she visits now they can barely recognize her.

She falls into the party lifestyle, and manages to work her way up to becoming a waitress in one of the most exclusive nightclubs in LA. Falling even more in love with this lifestyle, she just loses herself in it, partying all night long, going home just to sleep off the night's events during the day, and then doing it all over again. By this point she doesn't even visit her family for the holidays and has completely lost herself to the LA lifestyle. And as far as she sees it, there's nothing wrong with that.

Subeta: During my 8.5 years on Subeta I've delved into the same worlds of basically everyone else. Shortly after joining the site I started making profiles for people and eventually opened up commissions. I began with only user profiles and then progressed into pet profiles. I really enjoyed making them and even gave some away for no payment. Lately I haven't had time to make profiles for anyone other than myself, and I think my current profile's been up for a year. :P But as things slow down for me I'm considering opening commissions once more.

Pets: I work on my pets all at once. If you look at my profile you'll see that a lot are just as plain as an inactive account, but I'm working on them behind the scenes. I have three pets that have won the spotlight, and I have 4 more that I'd like to finish soon, but some get finished before others, as they don't need as much. I have adopted two pets from people before and they have not gone to waste or just sat on my account. Parsley was finished about a week after I adopted her, and shockingly won the pet spotlight, I think, 2 days after being completed. Nick Miller is my other adopted pet. At the time of seeing him UFA I wasn't looking to adopt a pet, but Nick Miller happens to be my favorite character on the show New Girl, so I put together an application for him. I've continued in his original idea and expanded it with my own ideas. His TC is full of drinks his character does/would make at the bar he works at in the show, the books he has read are in reference to things on the show, and same with the small amount of foods he's eaten. His high number of defense was done by the previous owner, and I've been working on his intelligence and strength so he can get a promotion to a position that better fits his character on the show. All my other pets are listed on my profile in categories. I'm currently commissioning two people for two of my newest pets. One will just have an overlay for now and the other will have an overlay and two pieces of profile art. I've also got a custom TC hat I'm commissioning for my pet, Sanke. At this moment I'm currently working on finishing her very long story. I'll have to shorten it quite a bit for Subeta... it's about 10 pages long, single spaced in Word. o.0 I do plan to create a page on my website where users could go to finish the story if they so choose. Since it's so long and I've spent a great deal of time on it I would like to have the full story out there for others to read. At the current moment the shortened version ends on a different note than the full version.

Indulgent: Her name immediately makes me think of food, an as such, she would become a food-related pet. Probably candy, or some other delicacy treats. As I've done with my other pets I would commission art, fill her TC with personality/interest related items, work on a story and plan out her profile. Parsley's profile is a recipe card, and I wouldn't mind either turning Indulgent's profile into a another recipe card or at least adding one in. I think she would be a perfect addition to my other food pets as I do not have one related to candy or other treats. Parsley's profile is an Italian recipe, and one other pet is planned to be a restaurant owner and chef, where his TC is the menu. I have two bakers (one specializes in wedding cakes and the other in pastries (Sanke) in general - both have a custom TC that's not shown yet). One other will be Chinese food related; authentic, not American-Chinese food. I feelIndulgent would be a great addition as something sweet to counter all my savories.

The reason that I want so many food-related pets is because I absolutely love cooking, collecting recipe books (I think I have about 200 at the moment), trying new foods. I have many other pets here on Subeta, but I would love to have more related and pertaining to food. :) If you have any questions at all feel free to ask.

[spoiler=About her] In the realm where she was born - a realm of angels - all of them were created by one being and are all brothers and sisters, all beloved by their creator, their father, althought, they all receive a different kind of love depending on what they do and how well they do the mission given by the creator. This start a really competitive (and aggressive???) environment for the angels, they see each other as enemies, pretty much. Though, it didn't interfere the bond Reveille has with Borne, his brother and companion since her creation.

It hasn't been long since both started to get suspicious of their creator, whom never told what he was up to and the angels still followed him blindly. When both were starting to get the informatoin, Borne was sent do a mission and never came back. Worried by that, she went after him, falling herself from the realm since it was not her position to save a failure (angels who can't complete the mission will never come back to their creator realm and will be considered a failure and fall. The same for those who doesn't obey him), and in response of that, the powers and memories she had are lost(blocked maybe??) and she is thrown without any information into the human realm.

After that, she is forced to wander in this new realm and her sole purpose is to find who she was and what she is doing there. Very confused by who she actually is, since she still has her wings and the humans (obviously) doens't. It doesn't take a long time for her to find Borne - or he finding her since she has no idea of what she is doing lol -, who is accompained with a strange figure, Nuodai, who seems to be also uncovering the secret they both were trying to discover before their fall. Even though she is suspicious, they are her only key to discover who she is and what she is doing.
