What do I do with my pets? Just about everything. Recently I've taken to making a spreadsheet to try to focus on getting them all up to speed. (Nerd alert). I don't have any spotlight winners yet, but it's a big goal of mine to have more than one eventually! Focusing on one thing at a time instead of bouncing all over will hopefully help me make that happen haha. So far each pet has a concept and I'm working on their stories one by one (Photographie, Chewwie, and Aleutians are examples of nearly complete stories; Sequoias and Remiel are examples of works in progress). I'm pretty big on TCs and enjoy building them up. Right now .Disney and Attenborough are the most complete, but all my pets have some treasures and many have extra items in my gallery waiting to be added. I've collected art for most of them but am always still looking to buy more, my most recent pet to get art is Stelios, and right now is actually using that to make a profile for him (Edit: Profile is up now) In the meantime before I can afford everything for them, I'm teaching myself basic coding so I can make at least a simple customized profile for each pet.

So what are my plans for Venture? He's a park ranger in a temperate rainforest national park (Think somewhere between coastal Northern California and southern Alaska). That is one of my absolute favorite ecosystems and I've spent enough time feeling the absolute magic and wonder of being immersed in that environment that I'd love to have a pet who is based on that feeling. So, Venture would be a park ranger, his story would be a short one scene type of him venturing through the park on his daily route and experiencing the wonder and amazement offered by that job. That concept is pretty close to my heart (I always think if I wasn't a zookeeper I'd be a park ranger or researcher) so I think I could do him justice. I've always been in love with the Darwin quote "The day has past delightfully. Delight itself, however, is a weak term to express the feelings of a naturalist who, for the first time, has wandered by himself in a Brazilian forest." so I think that would be a good introduction for who I see Venture as. That quote was his inspiration for initially exploring national parks, and that grew into a deep passion that has shaped his entire life. I have a general appearance for him in my mind, as well as some ideas for his minion and TC. I'm so excited about this character idea and I think Venture would be the perfect name to make this really come to life. Honestly, I don't think I'd change his color or species. I always try to make the best fit for the story so it's a possibility, but I love the angelic celinox and his expression fits well with who I feel Venture's character would be.

Okay, I'm sure I've typed your ears off at this point. Thank you so much for the opportunity to apply for Venture. Honestly, there are so many talented users here who do amazing things with their pets. I'm always intimidated to even apply when I see so many people interested. But I'd love to be given the chance to do Venture justice, so I had to try. Good luck with your decision making - so many interested people is always a plus and a minus, haha. Edit: So, I've been thinking more about Venture and I have a secondary form of my general concept for him. Usually when I have two ideas I'll write out the stories a bit to see which idea has more depth and meaning to me, and then build everything around that. So, that's my plan for your little man. I love how powerful the word "Venture" is. It inspires ideas of endless possiblity and horizons. And that does work well for the notions I've already mentioned, but it also works well for a naturalist on research trips. Going back to the quote I shared, Venture would be essentially the same character in many ways, but his story and TC would be based on the explorations and adventures of a young naturalist. Think Darwin circa the HMs Beagle days. Similar idea, but taking it to a broader level to match the possiblities behind the word/name. Okay, done for real this time Cx
