And thanks, I'm sure he'll be better soon enough and we'll be getting out again. I'm trying to decide if I want to paint, needle felt or scrapbook... I'm leaning towards needle felting since I haven't finished the dragon I'm working on. The other 2 projects are things I haven't started yet. So yeah, I really need to finish before I start another thing :P The problem is my brain goes 'ooooh that looks like fun! You can finish the dragon another time'. BAD BRAIN! LOL

We have similar brains... I need to finish organizing one of my pantries (putting chalkboard strips on the shelves to label what the shelves have so I know what's in the back & the quantities so I don't get too many extras like 7 chickpea cans... tra la la) but then the brain goes... work on that office, then the brain goes you need to work on the cabinet in the living room to make space for office things... and then somewhere in there I have to eat 6 times a day for hypoglycemia, nap, etc. Luckily, I have people that come visit me and help every few weeks and they can help guide the distracted brain... just tie a carrot in front of a stick that's dangling in front of me... but I won't get started for a carrot it's finding what to dangle that is the tough part :P

For your project of the day... if you can finish something it's better you focus on that since you'll feel a sense of accomplishment... otherwise, you'll spend the time without anything finished and feel like another project looming over your head that isn't done adding more stress... that's one way to force yourself to stay on task ;)

Yup, that's what I tell my brain... FINISH the dragon BEFORE you start painting those now empty, cleaned candle holding glasses that you pulled the paints out for and set aside (they are taunting me, I swear). I really need to put them away so I can focus on the dragon LMAO. Seriously though, if I concentrate on the dragon, I can probably finish him in the next few days/week. Too bad we don't live close to each other. I'd suggest we take turns getting stuff done together LOL.

It's so much easier to go to another person's house and get things done than try to get your own stuff done! No emotional attachment... much easier to motivate, yep. I'm debating forcing myself to go out... we'll see how it looks outside.

I went out! I renewed dvds & a book I had borrowed to the max and they were due a few days from now... I went to the corner store to renew the bus pass and check out the milk/eggs... well no prices and when I asked at the counter it's almost double what a grocery store a block away charges. I got to the library (few blocks away) to find out they opened only in a few hours... but I put the items in the return slot (no new items)... then walked to the grocery store. I needed more groceries but I'm too weak and in pain so I got 1L of milk, cheese and 6 eggs... easier to carry home. There is a bus I could have waited for to bring me 2 blocks closer but I wasn't going to wait... it's not the cold, it's the WIND!!! It was snowing and windy... making me glad to be back home. I had soup waiting for me for lunch ^^ So I broke the stuck at home cycle, I can wait a while to need to break it again :P Dag nab it this winter is unpleasant! If I get accepted into the residence, there's a common kitchen & activity room... so even if it's horrid outside I can hang out with people inside :D There's also a grocery store, pharmacy, and restaurant in the complex... we have to go outside but less than 5 min walk. The nearest municipal library is further, but there are 2 sport complexes with pools within 15 min walk and a large community garden plus other groceries, restaurants, etc. Plus, if I make a few friends, we could go together out in the bitter harsh horrible why the bleepers cold ;)

Good for you! I cleaned lol. It's a good thing though. I did work on my dragon a little bit, so it wasn't a totally wasted effort.

A little each time will get you there... a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step (just remember to keep walking to get to the end) ;) I managed to clean and pack a box tonight. Feels good to make progress :D

3 1/2 more days until we're out of Kansas & back home in Florida <3 It's been interesting for sure, but I am so ready to be home where the numbers are always double digits and the only white stuff on the ground is sand!!

The girl is recovery really nicely from her surgery, getting back to normal with almost everything. Her lift restriction stays in affect for a couple more months and she won't be allowed strenuous activity until after she completes physical therapy - which won't be for two more months after she returns back to Kansas. In the mean time, her staff of doctors were all quite impressed with how well she's doing both with recovery & with pain management - barely two weeks after spinal surgery and she's not taking pain meds except at night - most patients who have the same surgery are on the meds for a minimum of a month, with most being on them thru the completion of their physical therapy.

Today we're working on getting all the lose ends tied up here in Kansas, I've started the major scrub down of the house - I intend for it to be cleaner when we leave than it was when we arrived! The family that owns it is so sweet, some of the absolute nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting <3 We plan to stay here every time we come to visit the girl <3 Great place in an excellent location :)

I'm so glad she's been doing as well as she has and we're able to head back to Florida two weeks earlier than we originally thought we would be able to! I can't wait to get home, Kansas is just too cold for me this time of year!

Found it :D Will think about what I choose :) Montreal (Canada) is colder... normally I don't mind winter but this winter has been brutal and I'm eager for it to end. It'll be nice for you to be back with your things at home, it can be nice elsewhere but nowhere is like one's home... or one's own bed.

We were 28 today with a windchill advisory of windchill temps between -15 & -25! So crazy and it's only going to get colder from now thru Thursday where our expected high is only 12 with major windchill temps that will have me wishing we could have found an earlier flight!!

I love the rental we found, but yes, it's nothing like being at home <3

School here has already been cancelled for tomorrow. Elise's special needs school cancelled first (very rare for them to do) then her home school district cancelled an hour later. Brrrrr, I am not looking forward to the next few days.

Chicago can do you one better on temperature tomorrow. Our high is going to be NEGATIVE 13 and the low NEGATIVE 25. Those are air temps. If you factor in wind chill, temps will feel as low as 60 degrees below zero. Fun times.

Needless to say, school is closed tomorrow.
