Poukie couldn't wait to be read to... and refused to let go of her doll anywhere she went. I managed to put it in her treasure while she was fast asleep cuddling with it :)

The kitties took some convincing but they managed to be herded into Gismo's gallery.

On another note... I'm supposed to get my RL Christmas basket delivered from the food bank today. I'm excited but anxious since I normally take less than what is allocated so I might have a problem on my hands. I have a few plans in place to help me deal with the situation. I can't wait to get my frozen chicken (only given in the xmas basket). I'll have to wait several weeks before my helper cook comes to roast it but I'll make sure I have potatoes to make some mashed potatoes to accompany it... mmm!

In other news... I had great news Wed evening. I've been granted an interview for the subsidized housing I applied for. Originally I had asked for the autistic apart; however, when I learned I didn't make the cut (based on when they receive the applications) I asked to be considered for the disabled apart. I had found out there were only 3 applicants for the 5 aparts... and even though I don't fit in their original definition (wheelchair-bound), my disability was accepted. I'll go for an interview in the middle of Jan and get the news before the end of Jan. The fact they bent the rules to give me a chance and knowing they still have spots to fill when all the applications have been dealt with & interviews passed... plus they are volunteers, I think I have a good chance of being accepted so they don't have to spend more energy searching :D

The autistic aparts have someone to visit/coach. It's not supervised (much more intensive hands-on) but rather help problem solve and requires a person to be autonomous. I wouldn't get this service... but what's important is I get an apart. I've had probs with my current landlord & her husband (both verbally & him physically aggressive/threatening) because they refuse to reestablish the electricity to work as before... fire hazard, can't use appliances at same time (big prob since I pay for help 1/week and now we can't do what needs to be done), etc. I'm taking them to the rental board, lawyer involved, etc. The residency would be a blessing. It's being built, supposed to finish April 1st 2019. There's a grocery store, pharmacy & restaurant on 1st floor. Community lounge, community kitchen with bbq, and there will be an animator organizing activities for us. I'd pay 25% of my income with $135 extra/month mandatory fee that covers cable/internet/animator. I'd save at least $200/month, not enough to stop going to food banks but it would let me live a bit less tight :)

The handicapped aparts are bigger than the autistic ones. If ever my health continues to the point where I need a wheelchair I won't have to worry... right now I use 2 canes to get around. The one small downside: no bath, just a shower. I'll live with it but I'm a bath gal. It'll be ok... if needed I'll figure out how to put a mini inflatable pool to take epson salt baths... I'm creative :D

Happy Eve of Christmas Eve <3 Hope everyone had a nice enjoyable weekend - we've nearly finished our shopping (finally), just one more thing to pick up later today and fingers crossed we're done! I've haven't been this far behind in my shopping in I can't tell you how long!!

I finished up gifting trees here earlier this week - hopefully I didn't miss anyone!! I typically have a system, but didn't have time for it this year as I was sneaking in time here and there over the last couple weeks to get things under those trees!!

If I don't have an opportunity to get on before, have a very merry Christmas everyone <3

phew, finally done, all trees have been gifted. All gifts purchased in rl. Now to sit back an enjoy the festivities of the season.

I'm sorry to say that I barely got any gift-giving done. I got a few of you but not many at all. These past few weeks have been so crazy! I will get my gifts to you by New Year's hopefully. Please know that I appreciate the friendship of each and every one of you, and am so sorry about the gifts.

We have our big family celebration tonight, and I'm getting ready to head over my parents' house to help with the preparations.

Merry Christmas everyone. I have to say I didn't get everyones trees but I'll make an effort when I get done with work and then try to gift people afterwards. Its been kind of a struggle in doing things on my free time.
