Oh yes, I'm quite a formidable snow slinger ;) Where I grew up we didn't have snow but I've visited enough to have learned a few tricks. First and foremost, if you know you will be starting or getting dragged into a snowball fight when you go outside, linger around the side of the house. Good, compact snow piles up near the walls so you'll be in a good spot to set up when the fight breaks out! Snow by the walls is usually dense and easy to just grab and toss (as long as you aren't near an overhang and therefore low on snow... It usually hasn't been loosened up by wind or pets walking through it :D
: Thank you very much for this giveaway. This sounds like lots of fun. I'd like to give it a try too :D

- thank you! I find it fascinating that this year Chanukah starts on Christmas Eve and ends on New Year's Day (with the last candle being lit on New Year's Eve). It's somehow more special that everyone is going to be celebrating together. Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Haha, thanks, I enjoyed it. :)

Apple ciderThat took more time than I expected. To really sit and think about each letter. :) Would have had it sooner but I've been away.
a to z of my holidays
A - Apples - in pies or tarts, such a warming dessert at christmas time. Warm apple cider too!
B - Baking
C - Cookies, lots and lots of cookies (thanks to my brother who always bakes a ton)
D - Decorating, a lot of my favorites relate back to this
E - Eggnog, we have a custard eggnog and man is it good
F - Films - so many holiday films I look forward to seeing
G - Gifts, giving and getting
H - Home, best part is being home with family
I - Inside, staying inside where it's warm and comfortable
J - Joy, one of my favorite words
K - Kids, seeing the joy on children's faces
L - Lights, on trees, on houses, just so cheerful and bright
M - Music - though the local radio starts them a bit early I do like having a month of christmas carols.
N - Nuts, no not family but those too, lol, but growing up we used to get bags of different nuts, in shell, and snack on them all fresh after deshelling them ourselves.
O - Ornaments, I love looking at all the ornaments on our tree. So many handmade and bring back memories
P - Peppermint, cannot have a December without some peppermint!
Q - Quiet, you know that quiet when it snows, for the first time especially, and you first go outside.
R - Relaxing, when all the work is done and you can just enjoy it
S - Santa - well who doesn't like santa?
T - Tree - love trimming the Christmas tree
U - Unwrapping - see W lol
V - Vino, gotta have a little (or a little more) at the holidays (though only two of us drink any more).
W - Wrapping - gift cards might be easier but not as much fun as wrapped gifts
X - xylophone, yeah, strange one but I took xylophone/glockenspiel lessons as a child and while I couldn't play now to save my life I like to watch the marching bands in the holiday parades and listen for the ones that include xylophones.
Y - Yesteryears - we often look back at old photos or films of the past at this time and though sometimes difficult it's also wonderful to see the people who are no longer around.
Z - Zzzzzzs - lol yeah sleeping after all the festivities are over is very very nice

hope you had fun making your list! And I can't say I've ever had an Americano but it sounds nice.
haha, the kittens in the tree is why I haven't finished my tree yet. With six littles it's hard keeping up with them bouncing off the walls. Last thing I need is for them to climb the tree!
yes, to warm sweaters. Granted where I'm at the weather is a bit temperamental. Was nice and cool over the weekend and today and probably the next few days will be 70's or so during the day. LOL
oh yes, pomegranates are so so good this time of year!
is Turtle a turtle?
no worries at all, glad you could join in! :) PS. I bet you could pick up xylophone in no time!
neat, you make your own wreaths for your door?
seems like Krampus has become a hit since the film. I must admit I like that there is an dark twin version of Santa more or less thrown in the mix, lol.
yep you made it just in time! :)
Alright everyone, this event has come to a close. I'll ping when the new event is up later today (afternoon-ish). For now, everyone has a gift tucked safely under their tree for participating. Thank you all for posting your favorite things. :)
yes when I get bored XD
