This week is supposed to be in the 60s and 70s and rainy. :/

I know about dementia. It seems my grandfather is getting worse with it. You can say something that someone in kindergarten could understand and he just stares at you like you have two heads and you can repeat it and it still doesn't get processed. It at least sounds like they are going to send a nurse here when he needs to get blood drawn every 2 weeks to a month. Mom is having a harder time getting him out for appointments now and the nurse could tell. He's on both cummatin and warfarin. (I don't know how to spell either one.) So blood testing definitely has to be done. And things keep going they way they are going, we're probably going to have to call an ambulance on him within a couple of months. That's the only time he gets the help he needs because he won't give mom power of attorney or sign paper work that allows my mom to talk to the doctor. We definitely need some home healthcare coming in to help him. But he refuses it.

LOL! My dad has a truck...but it has a cover on it (not the flat covers but the ones that go up so you can put stuff in it still) but he does h ave a trailer. Although...we have a truck here not that I am thinking about it. It's my grandfather's but he's not allowed to drive and it currently is a year out of date on state inspection and has a flat. And won't start. And mom doesn't want to get it fixed because he would try to drive it when we're not here. Luckily, if yall don't want to own a rug cleaner, you can rent one! I don't know if all walmarts have them, but our walmart supercenter has a thing at customer service station where you can rent a rug cleaner. We're probably gonna rent one the next time my grandfather ends up in the hospital/nursing home so we can actually clean. It wouldn't surprise me if it has been 20 years since the carpet was cleaned if not longer.

My portions are definitely a lot smaller than they used to be! Also, I try to work out at least 5 times a week. Fridays I definitely do not but usually Saturday through Thursday I do the treadmill. Now that it's nicer outside though I will tend to go out to exercise.

Thank you so much! That means a lot. After my friend Christina took it she showed me and I was like "That is not me" and she was like "Uh yeah it is". So I am still having a hard time believing that I look like that if it makes any sense Geri. When I am just going through my day to day I forget. Even when I go to try something on now I still grab the bigger sizes and have to go back and get a different size. So I myself am still getting used to this new body.

thank goodness the girl, even though she's been in college, this last year, has started cooking for herself, and she's really into healthy eating. she's really heavy into the 'veggie eating' and have been staying away from meat. even chicken. she eats a lot of beans, peanut butter and salmon. (and TOFU!! ICK!) :D i'm really proud of her.

Too hot to cook here yesterday so grilled some beef filets and duck breasts (a co-worker hunts but doesn't like duck) with a Port Reduction and Balsamic tomatoes, c'est formidable!

I'm SO sorry, Cat! How long ago was he diagnosed? From the behavior and what's going on I'm guessing he was diagnosed a short time ago, and he's in total denial of his situation. Is there a family member who could maybe talk him into it by putting the right spin on it? Btw, how old is he?

A year and a half ago with "slight dementia due to mini strokes" which has gotten worse since then. But the doctor thinks he's fine since he will score good enough results on a test so he doesn't make it mandatory for my mom to get power of attorney. I don't remember what that test is. I do know he always fails the remember these 3 words and then gets asked what the words are later. Also...he has only had this doctor since we moved in because his original doctor retired. So this person doesn't know much about him.

No...not really...all the family members that did come here won't come unless they know mom isn't here. :/ If they realized how much I listened in on the conversation they would learn they wouldn't want to show up when I'm here either because I tell mom everything.

And yes, he's in denial. He still says he didn't have a heart attack which the doctors said he did. And the upper part of his heart is deteriorated. He's also stage 4 kidney disease and has refused dialysis. He has a hard time walking. The doctor finally sent him for an xray 8 months after he started complaining then took a month before he called my mom with what is wrong. He has bone spurs that they don't know what they are doing to do with yet I don't think. In June (i think it was june) he does to get a growth removed off the back of his head which is something he didn't say anything about until he went to the doctor last month. And right now he has no front teeth and can't really eat anything because he can't bite into anything. That's in the process of getting fixed since he was just at the dentist last week for that. And the dentist can see he's not doing well at all and is surprised mom doesn't have power of attorney yet. He's been our dentist for at least 30 years. I've had him not as long but he's the only dentist I've ever had. And my grandfather is 82.

. pouring down rain here today :( lol and not sure if i'm going to be on much. i HURT today. lol pretty sure its going to be an "Advil" type of day for me :)
